What is wrong with you people? For the record, my son is heading to a top D1 program that also has top tier academics. But whatever dads around here swinging it around how D1 is sooooooo much better than D3 seem to be compensating for their own inadequacies. Maybe you feel all alpha and tough, but you sound like fools.
We talked to a lot of people as we tried to figure out the best path for our son. As we did our research of various options, the person we talked to who enjoyed his college lacrosse experience more than anyone else played CLUB at an SEC school. There are plenty of high quality schools offering a D3 lacrosse experience. And it is not a full time job like a D1 commitment will be. It is all about the best fit for the kid, not going D1 so daddy can post on a message board.
There is no multi million dollar contract at the end of this rainbow like the major sports, so why not choose the fit that is best not only for your son’s 4 years in college but also the rest of his life? The infantile superiority oozing out of these “D3 stinks” comments exposes the posters for the “living through my kids success” clowns that they are. No one cares about your kid and “fit” is just an excuse for not being able to cut it D1.

If my son, who plays D1, could have gotten in state tuition at Georgia Tech's engineering program he would be playing club there today. Its an economic and academic decision first and then lacrosse. We as parents foot the bill. Unless a kid commits to an Academy, we as bill payers have chips in the game. Use the talents or unique skills your kids have (academic, extra curricular) to get into the best school for them.

I love how all of the D1 dads start their sentences making sure all of us know their kids play D1. Hilarious.

Some aren’t happy.

Did St. Pauls only have 1 D1 commitment? Most public schools have 1 D1 commitment. I would think that half the roster and any major MIAA school would go D1.
Did the SP football team lose by 50 to Loyola who lost to Spalding by 50?
Also that St. Francis show really makes the MIAA schools look petty.

Not petty at all. Most MIAA schools don't have/want to spend millions to pad their ego.

Anyone who thinks the MIAA schools are petty for not playing Biff and his paid for East Coast all start team are crazy. Biff wasn’t playing by the rules and just used “racism” as an excuse and to draw attention to his team to feed his ego, and it’s clearly worked.

St. Paul’s and every other MIAA A team would kick the living snot out of any public besides Severna Park, Broadneck, and possibly one or two others. If you think half of any MIAA team is going D1 you’re wrong. Calvert Hall probably has the closest and I doubt they’re anywhere near that mark.

So it’s ok for MIAA schools to recruit outside the state for lax and for those coaches/schools to put up housing for those players but not ok for the coaches at SFA. Geez. I don’t know why anyone would call racism on that. Lol.

At least at Gilman they had academic standards, weren’t holding kids back after they got to hs, and weren’t recruiting up and down the east coast. What SFA is doing now is not comparable in the slightest. Other teams(McD and CH) had to follow suit in order to compete. Trying to blame this on anyone but Biff is comical. The dude is just a narcissist trying to feed his massive ego through high school football. The way he portrays himself as some savior of inner city Baltimore kids is laughable.

I don’t know why anyone would call racism on that. Lol. What MIAA teams are actively recruiting kids not from Maryland and housing them? The fogo from McD is the only one I can think of. The CH Georgia twins moved to MD. The difference between lax and football is that families are moving here so their kids can play in the MIAA, not so much for SFA. You clearly don’t know much about SFA and are just repeating what Biff’s puppets over at the Baltimore Sun say and misleading documentaries pushed by Biff have to say. SFA actively recruits kids to transfer in their junior and senior seasons, sometimes reclassifies them, and everything in between. Keep in mind they recruit kids from Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and poach hs players throughout MD. If you think it’s racist to not play them you’re a very dull person. The MIAA refused to keep playing them because they weren’t playing by the rules. It’s as simple as that. SFA clearly has a different mission compared to the other MIAA schools and they didn’t wanna put up with Biff’s garbage anymore.

Mcdonogh/Gilman both have academic standards, weren’t reclassing kids in hs, weren’t utilizing jr/sr transfers, etc. SFA is just IMG with Biff putting on an act as the savior of underprivileged Baltimore. I don’t know who’s saying Gilman and Mcdonogh are “saints” but to say Biff at SFA is not on another level is absurd. It’s the Wild West at SFA. No rules or anything. Gilman was able to keep him in somewhat check, but when he didn’t wanna play by the rules anymore Gilman knew he had to go.

I went to a POS D3 school. I played lacrosse, but tat wasn't my primary goal in going there. I had a great time, got a decent education and then went on to grad school at Hopkins and U of MD. (while working a well-paying job) I've had a great career out earning most of my D1 peers so I'm not too worried where my kid ends up. Focus on education goals 1st, lax 2nd.

What’s up with Crabs 2023 playing in weak tourneys with weak brackets? Rockfish? PLC? Breakers? They ducked Hawks, TNA, and Looneys the past two weekends.

Ryan always ducks local competition. His 2022 team hasn't played the 2022 Hawks since the 8th grade. The market always clears.
