I do not understand the whole looneys orange daddy ball discussion. I have been around the team for a while and do not get it. Somebody please explain. Even you, Tom.

So, Looneys has lost their 22 Team, 23 Green and 24 Orange Teams. Did they also loose a 27? How can anyone think this organization is strong? Obviously the grass is greener somewhere else.

But they have 29 on the 26 roster so some apparently are happy

$53,650 that’s why they have 29 on the 26’ team. Lots of kids won’t play with those numbers. There are plenty of teams that need talented kids. Go somewhere that will teach and nurture their love of lacrosse. Don’t let your kid be a dollar figure. Find a team where your kid will play and have fun.

yes...26 team has quite a few more kids than most teams, but those kids were added as developmental players

Any parent paying full price (or any price) to be a development player is crazy. You develop by playing. Not watching others play. And don't give me the "better coaching" line because with 29 players not everyone is getting reps at practice. This isn't college or pro sports (or even high school) where you get point for being on the team.

This is hilarious.

What is hilarious about this? If a kid comes from Breakers or Hereford, doesn't he deserve a chance to compete at a higher level?

The Hereford defender on 2023 improved the team. Could do without the dad tho .

On most threads people do not call specific individuals - why is Looney's different in that respect?

This is hilarious.

Looneys didn’t have tryouts this year as most teams so no cuts were made. There were several boys who were too good to pass up so they were added to the roster. My guess is that roster will change again next year if tryouts occur and continue to get better.

No tryouts but they took kids? Wow, that sounds fair. Daddy ball, holdbacks, lots of lies and nasty name calling parents/coaches. Sounds like a great program. Think we will pass on this crazy team. Thanks for the future heads up.

Sure they deserve a chance, but then have a tryout for the kids on the Green team. The Green team were the ones that beat Breakers and HLC. So why wouldn’t you look at kids in your own program?

Right, HLC only beat Looneys Green 1 time at a tournament and then met in the finals and were beaten by Green. Get your Orange heads out of your MeanyYou aren’t that good. Your coaches are tools. We will wipe the floors with you again this year!!!!! Don’t cry too much.,,,,,

WOW, did someone drop you on your head. They were a great team till they were sabotaged by a few coaches. If you think all those Orange kids could make other elite teams without thier daddy’s coaching you would be dreaming. Sub par at best. But hey, your big kids aren’t that big anymore. Probably why you guys stink.

Exactly! That’s your problem. Same coaches. Get some real coaches. It’s not middle school.

Wow, had to check this site out. What a train wreak. Just looking at these post are hilarious. So, I have something to say about your old green team. We played them in Nationals last year. They played us tougher then your Orange team. Heard they lost half their players from that team. See you this coming season or maybe you need to drop down a division.,

The animosity is from parents whose kids are no longer with the club.

This is what happens when daddy ball runs a high school club.

The posts on this forum are what happens when kids of helicopter parents get cut and can't let it go...

No better helicopter parents then the coaches. Worst team on the circuit. Parents and coaches are a::$&s. Greasy to say the least. Hey but you can’t talk in public cause your kid might not make the school team....what a joke

Been with Looneys for a while. Lots of things I don’t like, but it’s better then some other club teams. I don’t agree with many choices the organization has chosen. Sometimes it’s better to deal with the evil you know. Two more years then all this club drama will be over.

Sorry about your son getting cut; it happens. Focus on his development and hopefully in the Spring he will have a shot to make a team. Good luck

It never ends with this team. Maybe they need to change the way this team is run. No other club gets this much grief. Looks like you need to get non parent coaches and par nets need to handle themselves better. We were offer a spot a few years back but didn’t take it because of these issues. We have been very happy with Crabs. We also have some issues, but coaching is not one of them. Good luck next season.

This team reminds me of the MLC before it folded. A syndicate of daddies controlling which friends and occasional outsiders to let in. At least MLC did not hold “open” tryouts. Rev daddy ball.
