Highlights

West Hempstead 11, Clarke 10: Alex Patton (three goals, two assists) scored the winner unassisted with about one minute left in overtime from about 12 yards out to lead West Hempstead (1-6) in Conference IV. Anthony Messina (two goals) scored to tie the score at 10 with six seconds remaining on a dodge from the left wing.

Massapequa 14, Kellenberg 6: Jim Byrnes had five goals and five assists and Paul Bentz had three goals and two assists for Massapequa (10-2) in non-league.

Highlights

Garden City 5, South Side 3: Dan Dolan's six saves and Justin Guterding's goal and three assists anchored Garden City (7-0) in Conference II.

Sewanhaka 6, Lawrence 5: Tyler Regnier scored the winner unassisted with 33 seconds left to lead Sewanhaka (3-4) in Conference III. Peter Militano led a three point comeback inside 1:30 as he scored with 1:21 left and then scored again 40 seconds later off an assist from Regnier.

Wantagh 10 Long Beach 6

Can't believe long beach lost to wantagh. Wantagh goalie and defense played unbelievable. Wantagh kept long beach attack under wraps. Stick a fork-in em.....

Section VIII has Wantagh's Conference Record wrong only loss in conference was to G.C. Massapequa the other loss is not in their Conference.

Surprised that Port Washington is ahead of Syosset. Head to head Syosset beat them and they have the same Conference record.

It's just how Newsday does it. It's alphabetical when they have the same record.

Section VIII (Nassau) definitely trails Section XI (Suffolk) when it comes to making their result tables easily available and accurate.

Wantagh should end up in 2nd behind GC.. standings are wrong only 1 conf loss.

Westhampton 9, Sayville 8: Casey Hickey scored his third goal with 3:27 left in overtime to win it for Westhampton (9-4) in Suffolk Division II. Evan Gagne had five goals and Brian Corrigan had nine saves and an assist in the win. Matt Selts scored three goals, including his third with 1:53 left in the fourth to force overtime.

Chaminade won 7-5 over SA. Some awesome talent .

Oyster Bay 10, Island Trees 4: Collin Martinez had three goals and one assist and Tom Carchietta added two goals as Oyster Bay (4-4) clinched its first playoff berth in just the second year of the program, according to coach Brian Soper, in Conference IV.

Smithtown West 11, Smithtown East 5: Joe Varello won 16-of-12 faceoffs and Patrick O'Brien had three goals for Smithtown West (12-2) in Division I. Christian Zawadskihad two goals and an assist. Smithtown East's Brian Balkam had 25 saves.

Bay Shore 12, West Islip 4: Sophomore Andrew Darcy had a career-high six goals to lead Bay Shore (8-6) in Division I.

There was a player badly injured during the Carey - Wantagh JV game yesterday. Itseemed to be a neck injury.
Does anyone know how he is doing?

No. 2 Manhasset 17, No. 15 Calhoun 4: Senior Pat Coleman scored the first goal of his varsity career and Benny Borgognone scored a goal to lead No. 2 Manhasset (13-3) over No. 15 Calhoun in the first round of the Nassau Class B Playoffs. Sean Grimm had three goals and one assist. Manhasset will face the winner of No. 4 Carey vs. No. 10 Plainedge in the quarterfinals on Friday at Hofstra at 6:30 p.m.

No. 4 Lynbrook 14, No. 13 Bellmore JFK 9: Nick LoCicero had three goals and one assist and Gordon Purdie had three goals to lead No. 4 Lynbrook (12-4) over No. 13 Bellmore JFK in the first round of the Nassau Class B Playoffs. Defenseman Matt Mott added a goal and an assist. Lynbrook will face the winner of No. 5 Long Beach vs. No. 12 Division in the quarterfinals on Thursday at Hofstra at 4:30 p.m.

Mineola moves on to play No. 1 Cold Spring Harbor on May 21 at 5:30 at Hofstra. The win was the first playoff win for the Mineola program in over 20 years, according to head coach Glenn Cocoman.
