Hey WCS Dad, thanks for the detailed post without the attitude sometimes displayed on this forum. I chatted with your coach in the parking lot before my son’s team played you guys and he seemed like a class act. While it’s fresh in your mind, how about an impartial ranking of the six teams mentioned in your post?

Hey WCS Dad, thanks for the detailed post without the attitude sometimes displayed on this forum. I chatted with your coach in the parking lot before my son’s team played you guys and he seemed like a class act. While it’s fresh in your mind, how about an impartial ranking of the six teams mentioned in your post? I will do my best. I have no skin in this MD lacrosse game, so just my honest opinion based only on the games these teams played against WCS. I have not gone back to check scores from other tournaments, etc. So this is based only only the direct match ups I watched myself. And this is only teams WCS has played. We have tremendous respect for all of the East Coast teams we have the privilege to play, so this ranking is not intended to denigrate any team or program as everyone we have played has talent, skill and kids who play hard. And all of these teams listed could come to CA and beat most of our local club teams. Just one person's opinion based on a very limited data set. 1a. Bethesda Lacrosse Club 1b. Virginia Lacrosse Club I think those teams are the most complete teams, dont make many mistakes and are just very solid. Bethesda in particular....everytime we made a mistake, they made us pay. VLC has a better goalie than Bethesda which makes a difference 3a. Looney's 3b. MadLax Capital Very solid, well rounded teams. Looney's has a great goalie and defense which held us to only 2 goals. 5. FCA MD--Good, solid team. Offensively challenged, but a good squad 6a Crabs 6b True Annapolis Both of these teams are lead by very strong play from specialists. Face Off for Crabs and Goalie for True. I think Crabs is the superior team overall, but that True goalie was AMAZING the day we played. He had 12 saves and 3 goals allowed. 8. Next Level--Solid team, not aggressive offensively. Seemed content to hold the ball and shorten the game. But definitely some talented kids and a good squad. 9. Breakers--Just not enough fire power to compete with the teams above on this list. Definitely some talented kids, but just not enough

You went through all this just to put your kids stats up. Be better! True Goalie is overrated and has yet to play for a club more than a year. If he tried out for any of the top clubs at 2026 he would be cut.

Based upon the wvs dad assessment Hawks would be numero uno as they beat his top ranked teams VLC and Bethesda 3 times last week by a total score diff of 26 to 7. Seem logical?

If Mesa is not the same as the Anne Arundel Green Hornets why are they running their tryouts the same place/ same time? Are Anne Arundel tax payers subsidizing a for-profit company to use Green Hornet's acceditation for cheap fields? The coach founder from Mesa also works on the Sev Park school lacrosse team, a public school, where the mesa tryouts are. That smells. If they're not paying full rate for those fields like Hawks and True does they should be.

You should be very proud. WCS dad didn’t rate Hawks because he didn’t play them. It was a ranking of his experience from the past several trips. Problem is the Hawks are too good for themselves to play teams beneath them.

Vegas line for True goalie leaving and going to a 5th team in 4 years.......$-180.....send bets!!! Like to see the action on this one!!! It’s ridiculous how much this kid/lax dad jump around. It’s desperation to find a team that’s better than what they had at the Hawks. I’m sure every team he left was better for it; I know the hawks greatly improved with their departure. After watching him on True I don’t think he’s elite; he’s a top end AAA at best. Hawks and Looney goalies are head and shoulders above him.

I don't know the back story here (outside of what's written in this forum), but I don't blame the kid for bouncing around teams, that's all on the parents. It's so tough mentally to be a lax goalie and the last thing you need is a dad that is overly involved which puts more pressure on the kid. You really can't be lax dad if you boy plays in the net. Just be quiet, talk to him post game and enjoy the ride. Even the ones who think the are positive usually yell its not your fault 5 times per game which is the same as saying your defense messed up and that doesn't help you goalie son or the team by indirectly calling out others.

Haha, I love the inclusion of Saltwater moms as a topic of discussion...they are quite the crew! Lots of love for their boys which I appreciate, but could use some etiquette and lax knowledge courses. We weren't at NXT Cup (looks like no one was), but would have love to have seen/heard them yesterday as they got blown out 10-2.

Okay, I have no stake in the True vs. Hawks goalie wars. My son has played against both and IMHO they are both extremely good goalies.
I am the poster who was confused as to why the California Dad was accused of slipping his son's stats into the ranking of top east coast teams, from BLC down to Breakers. (which I think are very accurate, by the way)
But now I get it - the post mentioned, for no apparent reason, that the True goalie made 12 saves and gave up 3 goals in a certain game. So, is somebody suggesting that the "California Dad" is actually the True goalie Dad, who ranked nine east coast teams, merely so he could slip in the fact that his own son had 80% save percentage?
That sounds awfully crazy to me, however, it did start me thinking:
(1) why would a California Dad keep stats on the True goalie; (2) why are one player's stats on one of the weaker teams on the list relevant to the team rankings. (3) this poster did seem very focused on the goalie landscape; he mentioned that the VLC goalie is better than BLC, for instance, so maybe he is scouting for his next team.
I have observed crazy behavior from True and Hawks Dads on the sidelines, but if this was written by the True goalie Dad, this takes the cake!
And by the way, if any kids are reading this, nobody is criticizing you - just your crazy Dads!
