There is only one glaring mistake on that list . How can you have a kid who has no played a season since 9th grade on there especially considering it has to be based on high school career . Also goes to show that the whole thing is political , really diminishes the accolade for the other kids on the list that are very deserving . Exactly! Ridiculous! How does somebody who has no accolades and hasn't played in years get on this type of list?? Politics just not right, casts a shadow on the entire organization

If you haven't figured it out this a YJ program. If you are not on YJ you are making a donation. If Corrigan wanted the best players he would have independent evaluators.

I'm shocked not to see complaints about the UA team. Looks like CR kept half her team CR has what is arguably the number one team in the country with 24 D1 commitments. Do you think maybe her players just deserved to make the team because they had the best tryouts.

No, she would evaluate the school, coaches and recruiting classes ahead of her to see how many girls at that school already play her position And the make up of the team.

Corrigan has already reached out to multiple club directors to apologize for the results of the command try out. There were more YJ 24’s and Jesters that made the call back list then any other 23 club on the island and he knows he has major issues. Having an 18 yr old evaluator didn’t help either.
He is also aware of what went on with the highlight division.

If you haven't figured it out this a YJ program. If you are not on YJ you are making a donation. If Corrigan wanted the best players he would have independent evaluators. Two years ago the exact group of girls tried out for spots on the Under Armour Command team. It was for the BBP/Legacy and Mattituck Under Armor coaches and there were also TG evaluators. There was no Carol Rose, yet pretty much the same YJ players were chosen again. By luck? by chance? You can rule out politics as it was a completely different selection committee. Then from what club exactly would you expect the most players to come from? For most age groups there is no doubt the larger number of players have to come from YJ. Everyone always wants to cry foul on every Select team roster selection, whether it is UA, USA, schoolgirls, and every award from the IL lists, All American, County awards...... They want to cry foul when kids get recruited over their own, etc, etc....The same girls who make this UA team are the same ones recognized for all these other other teams, honors, lists. Do you really think CR controls every aspect of everything ever lacrosse related? And if she does, then you are playing for the wrong club. But the correct answer is, the girls are very good and very deserving. Congrats to everyone who made the team, including the non-YJ players!

YJ and Jesters get 20 players of the 23 players on the Command team. Nothing to see here. Totally rigged from the start. Both teams are average at best.

When the evaluators have a disproportionate number of girls from their organization make the cut, there is a problem. In other age groups, I would tend to agree with you that YJ has more talent. Not for 2023. The YJ 2023 team is no better than Jesters, Legacy or TG. You would think that all of those teams should be equally represented. As for 2024...give me a break! Maybe 1-2 girls would be on par with the better 2023s. It's a shame that the evaluators don't give these girls a fair shot. Disgusting actually!

What a disgusting display of a tryout!! If the results don’t show you anything then your head is in your butt! To have 20 of the 23 girls be from YJ and Jesters is a shame to say the least! Last year there was a very diverse group of girls and there were only 2 or 3 of these girls from YJ so that is a lie. The credibility of UA is going downhill from here! So disappointing!

If you are going to cast blame it should be directed at Thorn. Her entire 23 team made the call back game and then took 15 YJ players. The Jesters coach was there just to ensure his players made the team. Some obviously deserved to be there. Thorn turned this into a joke and if I were Corrigan I would be upset knowing all the future business she cost me. If your not on YJ no need to apply.

Sooo... we all go in knowing a small cabal of coaches will pick their team. At some point there has to be pushback. The highlight team has 9 2022’s on it. I’m sorry that is not legit. We know the contracts are in for YJ players and their inflated players bio’s. There is no way that there should be 9 2022’s on the highlight team especially when 2021 players are more deserving. It is a disservice to the LI team and to a number of 2021 girls as this is their last chance to tryout. On LI there is NO need to take these 2022’s.

first off there will always be people pissed when 160 kids tryout for a 23 girl roster. Is there too many YJ girls, maybe but let's break it down. 4 of the 12 that made it from Thorn were originally Igloo girls. 2nd, 4 of the 12 made the team last year. Looking at the roster they got the top 12-15 girls in the grade on the team. The last 8-10 spots could have gone to other girls, but who is the blame then??? The directors/coaches at Top Guns who were nowhere to be found in NJ.....Shame on them for not being their to support and represent their girls. Everyone can complain about some of the girls who got shafted and they may have a gripe, but this team will still go and dominated Upstate and New England and go on to the final 4. Let's go Long Island

Read the inflated bio’s. BOTC awards. FLG awards. Some bogus IL award who call CR. Stop the BS. There are many 2021’s who don’t parade their phony awards around. It appears that CR and the other “evaluators” are using this Corrigan team to showcase 2022’s and take the opportunity away from the 2021’s. Shameful. Hopefully karma is the bitpoop we say it is.

Highlight evaluators were ,from what we saw ,YJ coaches only. Not impartial not fair. The girls on the roster are all excellent but there were other excellent girls at the tryout who should have been given a fair chance. quote=Anonymous] I'm shocked not to see complaints about the UA team. Here is an easier breakdown YJ 15 girls, Jesters 5 girls all other clubs on Long Island 3 girls. That was funny when a couple YJ attackers were put through without scoring a goal. Good times! I guess the takeaway is that if you want to make the team, make sure your coach is an evaluator! No way Jesters have 5 worthy. Maybe 2. Gotta feel a little bad for the YJs that were cut. How embarrassing is that!

Not as embarrassing as the YJ and Jesters coaches blatantly putting their own girls on a team that clearly don't belong. Girls that have been invisible on the field since 3rd grade. Now that's embarrassing, and They should be ashamed. The whole process stinks like rotten fish. Corrigan can do better to hold a fair and unbiased tryout. As for the YJs who didn't make it? Need to stink up a little more next time, probably didn't give a big enough end of season gift to coach!

You are delusional and know nothing about sports or athletes. Why do so many YJ girls go on to college to be less than average at best? When YJ B girls and 24’s are making it over other 23 A’s it’s based on the rigging of the event not talent.

What an ignorant post knowing what we know about who picks girls. 5 of the girls picked are legit...the rest...not so much and interchangeable. Unfortunately they weren't interchanged because of bias. Very sad for the sport.

Is Coach Thorn a hypocrite? She lowers a girl to the B team and then puts on Corrigan as a top player in the age group. Talk about mixed messages.

I believe the idea of with the 2 team system is to have some mixture of grades on both the command and highlight teams, I knew going in to expect at least 6 spots for the younger age group on either team it’s always that way. Is 9 too many on the highlight team.. I guess we will see how they make out. if you don’t combine ages then you’d need to have a team for each grade

I appreciate everyone wanting to believe it's fair, but it is not. Stop complaining, it won't change, just accept it for what it is. My daughter a 2020, stopped going to the tryout after her first year. It was so obviously rigged! This is not to say my daughter should have made it, but not even having a fair chance made us not return. We know many who did the same.

No YJ attacker was put thru w/out scoring a goal??? I watched one score at least 3 goals in game 1. Let me guess you watched all the games and have an official box score for the games?? Keep trolling 15 year olds.....I highly doubt any of the 3 YJ attackers went scoreless. 2 of these 3 made it last year in fact

It’s virtually impossible to fairly evaluate 100+ girls over the course of a few hours. With all the ball hogs and Nobody passing your lucky to get a few touches in a scrimmage. And if you get stuck on a team with less talented girls it’s over before it starts.. The evaluators know the girls, and choose most of them based on reputation. The only real recourse is to have a somewhat equal representation of clubs as evaluators, so that they can all haggle it out.

[quote=Anonymous]I'm shocked not to see complaints about the UA team. Looks like CR kept half her team
There will always be sour grapes. Some people will never get it, when their daughter is not selected or recognized they will cry foul and complain that it is all political. The only "List" that really matters is the "Coaches List". It all shakes out during the recruiting process. If your daughter is a top tier player she will receive offers from top tier college programs. Coaches know who they want and they do not wait to let the players and parents know. If a coach is talking to you / your daughter but they are not offering a spot it s because they have other players ranked higher. There are probably between 20 - 30 legit top tier players on The Island in a given graduation year.

Your only way to show your dissatisfied is to not sign up again as I'm sure many people are going to do. Corrigan did a poor job and I'm sure he won't have the same number of people next year.

Or taking 15 of your own players? completely unbelievable.... I would never take that UA thing serious again. they should have had independent evaluators thats realistic. some of those girls would be on that list either way. they are that good but they just blew it with this nonsense this year. shame on them

I wish they would check out the validity of the other sports accolades in the bio's. Sad how a kid outright lied especially in a sport that is simple to verify.

I wish they would check out the validity of the other sports accolades in the bio's. Sad how a kid outright lied especially in a sport that is simple to verify. I can tell you from first hand experience that many times if there is incorrect info in a players Bio it is not always due to the player. Even at the college level at Top 20 programs the information is inaccurate. My older daughter's info is not all accurate and it's not due to her providing false or inaccurate info. It is due to someone in the schools athletic / sports information department making mistakes. Every player on every team at the university fills out a questionnaire and then somebody in the athletic department writes the Bio.... many mistakes are made. Not a lot of proof reading or double checking... the athletes don't see it until it is up on the website. Many times accolades are left out, mistakes are made.
