So many True teams. Who is who? Do players play for whichever, whenever players are needed? Do kids try out for just one team or do they try out for True in general and then get placed on a team? Are True players shared between teams if two of them are at the same tournament?

2026 Md Elite summer standings
Hawks - still the team to beat even after losing 1 game today. FCA - hard not to put them here after a 7-1 win over Bethesda who was the talk of the elite division after beating 91 a few weeks ago. Bethesda - took a beating today by FCA but still a very talented team 91 - definitely not the same team we saw last year. Talent but selfish play. Madlax - another big team with talent at attack. Needs help defensively and in goal Crabs - need a lot of help but have one of the best FO kids at this level. He will be with the hawks next year; you heard it here first Looneys - they have a goalie but too slow and small on the offensive side of the ball. Rankings from a sane person: Tier 1: Hawks - solid all around, best team in the country despite the loss to Tigers Tier 2: FCA - the defensive holdbacks are really paying off, eventually this will catch up to them Madlax - solid team, if they ever figure out how to run an offense they'll be very good, too small at attack Bethesda - solid team as well, will compete with anyone, just don't have the horses to beat the best teams Tier 3: Looneys - good goalie play, decent team, slower than Tier 2 teams True Annapolis - scrappy team, will keep improving, need a "star" to get to next level Crabs - FO guy is very, very good; need a lot of help but will get better with age Tier 4: Bay Raiders - solid team, but not Elite level 91 - could make the case that they are not an Elite bracket team; got destroyed by everyone; honestly I don't see anything to be excited about here; just keeping it real Bay Raiders and True should be switched. LOL Bay Raiders and True should be removed from this list, period!

Lots of other solid/good teams, but if we are talking about Elite MD lax its all about the Hawks, below them FCA and Madlax. Those three and then everyone else. FCA and Madlax will square off this wknd at Platinum Cup.

Anyone face the 2026 Sweetlax team at NAL? They are going to be at event in Darien this weekend. Tourney machine says they made championship (at NAL) and lost what looks like close game to Hawks. Real team or fluke?

Is the schedule out for Platinum Cup? I was told they are still trying to figure out a way to include NY/NJ teams, but not sure why its taking so long. At this point, either they have a secondary location in PA for those teams and a few others to have balance or they don't.

Regardless of how any of us may feel about the Hawks, losing one OT game to the Tigers and getting hammered by Edge in the Fall does not knock them off the top rung. We may wish it to be true but it’s just not. More teams have to beat them with some regularity to claim that to be true. The gap may be closing but it isn’t done yet.

A lot of reclassified kids on the hawks and agree their reign is coming to an end. Will the 2026 Hawks be playing in the World Series of Youth Lacrosse next year? Unlikely, due to the age requirements (13U), but let's keep our fingers crossed.

Looneys are not in same stratosphere as Hawks. They might not even make it out of a weak bracket at Platinum Cup (Next Level, True Annapolis, Looneys, West Coast Starz). Would be nice if they did and have an FCA, Madlax, Looneys, WCS final four there though.

Just make sure to win your first two games, FCA, to make the showdown vs. Madlax exciting. I don't want to see you lose to NXT or PA RR (again).

Let’s spend the next 10 months debating why none of the top Maryland teams will be at the World Series of Youth Lacrosse. It should be productive and entertaining.
Or it will be the same old complaints. Let’s be real the Maryland teams that enter the qualifying tournament for the WSYL are not playing in Elite in HoCo.
Over under on posts asking why such and such team isn’t playing in WSYL over the next 11 months on this board is about 500. I’ll take the over.

"OUR" Laxachusettes? You cant even spell your organization's name correctly? Not sure when Looney's beat them, but definitely not recently. Since that Game at Boys Latin over 2 years ago, I believe they have lost to Edge and to the Tigers in OT just last week.

If lax would follow suit and classify by birth year this conversation would dramatically change. I can't wait for the weak and worthless argument that one year doesn't make a difference and our kids are more skilled. Wait for it because here it comes...

Obv it makes a difference, but since club lax is birth year there's really no reason to cry about it. If you hold back a kid just for sports you are a child abuser. If you hold back for academic and/or social issues then just own the fact you are gaining an advantage in lax.

No need to debate the age issue. It's simply true that it gives the good clubs an advantage over the club teams that do not play with athletes that have reclassified. No biggie, but in most other sports, the best players move up... not down. But hey, if it helps you sleep at night knowing that your kids would likely struggle vs age appropriate competition, all the power to you. Otherwise, let them battle it out with kids their own age and see how they do.
