You better get them this year because Catonsville will make a deep run this year and then 2 straight State Championships. 2022 Class is the best in Maryland Public or Private. Catonsville fan here. Quoted post smacks of trolling. Too many superlatives. Always best to save the crowing 'til after the achievement. I guess one of us took your senior son's spot Sorry Sounds like MD Team 91 2023 carnival barkers Poor guy, It is tough to take, Give your senior a Pom Pom and have him cheer his teammates on. That will get him some playing time in blowouts.

They are OK, but certainly not in same class of schools beating Boys’ Latin.

Scary someone would claim to know that much about a kid. Very creepy. Because its all BS; everyone knows you go to CH to play sports and the parents hope the boys can pass the SATs when it's all said in done. Send my son to any school other than CH; where playing in MIAA and getting into college dreams die. I would love to know how many applications actually get turned down at CH?

Cant spell his name?? Lets hope it is that boy whose parents unfortunately passed away when he was born in the jungle . Then he was raised by Apes. I heard he was as strong as a gorilla ,ferocious as a Lion and fast as a gazelle. Will be a Starting Middie and dominate the MIAA. Get Real ! Who cares how he spells his name.

We’re moving to MD from the Midwest. I know CH is THE BEST, but are there any good public schools in MD? One of our jobs will be outside of Lanham. What are the best public schools with good lacrosse in MD?

What are the best public schools with good lacrosse in MD? Nothing in PG County. If you are talking public schools, the further outside of 495 you get, the better the schools will be academically and for lacrosse. To the east, you have Broadneck, South River and Severna Park in Anne Arundel County. The better schools in Montgomery County are going to be on the other side of the beltway, like Churchill. In southern Baltimore County, there's Catonsville and down the road to the west a bit, Centennial, Mt. Hebron, Marriotts Ridge and River Hill. None of these schools are right around the corner from Lanham.

What are the best public schools with good lacrosse in MD? Depends where you want to live and drive from to get to Lanham. Traffic in DC area is some of the worst in Nation. Commuting from East is Severna Park , Broadneck , from South is Northern, from North is Howard, Centennial, There are many others , just depends on where you want to live and what type of Athlete your child is. Obviously the better the lacrosse team, the better your child will need to be to get playing time. Look at Maxprep public school rankings and their scores against other teams, while not completely accurate rankings, they give you a feel for schools

What are the best public schools with good lacrosse in MD? Yes. Public schools in Maryland are solid despite the perception from lacrosse community around here. Your sweet spot since you'll work in PG county would be either Howard County or Anne Arundel Co. Severna Park, Broadneck are good lax programs in AA. Marriott's Ridge Glen Elg in Hoco. IN Baltimore County would be Hereford Dulaney Towson. Good Luck

Hereford, Dulaney and Towson would make for an extremely long commute and would require you to navigate through Baltimore City or around 695 to get to Lanham. I can't imagine doing that commute.

Thank you for all the feedback, there’s nothing like local input to shed some light on schools. What caught our eye was Ann Arundel school district, based on a few factors. Severna Park looked good, as did a few other schools in the area. We would need top level lacrosse for our son and don’t want to do private unless we have to. Appreciate all the responses, thanks again!

If you do pick private, just know that MIAA is the best conference in the country and that no matter what school you pick in the A conference, they will face top competition week in and week out.

Don't think this is what they meant though. :-0 Spalding will win 2 games all season and will have to play an MIAAB team to get one of them they will start season off with a bang with one of those wins Glenelg Country. Reality will set in by next game. Lets see if we can find a positive theme for the year please. There are only 4 teams that have any chance of winning a title this year. That leaves 7 out. Spalding is one of those 7. It can't be a 4 team conference and perhaps 11 is too many but 10 games each fits nicely. 6 Teams make the tournament and 5 clean out lockers early. McD, CHC, BL, Loyola are locks. Two spots remaining this year: St. Marys, Spalding, & Gilman will need to focus their attention on must-wins against St Joe, St Pauls, JC, and Severn and then beating the other 2 of the three battling it out. So a positive for the top four is a championship. A positive for the next 3 is a tourney birth. A positive for the bottom four is winning a game against the middle 3. So judge Spalding on its record against St. Mary's and Gilman.

Judge Spalding on its history. It’s a B program. Always has been always will be. Mentioning them in the same breath as Gilman and St. Marys is just silly. St. Paul’s, Gilman and St. Mary’s are far better programs with storied lacrosse traditions. Spalding lost to Broadneck.

Spalding Haters,
SSSA may be the best or second best boys program in the DC area this year (along with St. John's and Gonzaga and maybe GP). No shame in losing to them in a tight game the first game out of the box.

Spalding getting in over SP? What? If Spalding doesn't beat SP this year then there is no hope for them. There are only 4 schools with a future near the top right now: CH, BL, McD, Loyola. This is Gilman's last year to be half way decent for a long time. SP is worse off. St Mary's will hang in there. Spalding needs to go all in to make a splash. Severn is done. JC, St Joe have no chance to win more than 1-3 conference games. This is a 4 school league.
