It's just how Newsday does it. It's alphabetical when they have the same record. Section VIII (Nassau) definitely trails Section XI (Suffolk) when it comes to making their result tables easily available and accurate.

really??????????????? you must be from SYO Nope doesn't take a moron to realize that the better team should be ranked higher. Believe Syosset beat them by more than double in their match up as well as much higher leads against the same opponents in their Division. Knew there had to be an explanation for PW to look like it was ranked higher. Just an opinion from a parent of one of the opposing teams in the division that played both teams and clearly saw there was no comparison. I'm not an expert and you never know what could happen in the playoffs. Nassau (Section VIII) County Boys HS Varsity Lacrosse Standings - May 6th Surprised that Port Washington is ahead of Syosset. Head to head Syosset beat them and they have the same Conference record.

How do the seedings for playoffs work in Nassau Section VIII? Does it go by the power ranking or by the conference record, or a combination?
