"US U19 team is a joke. Not the best girls represented. 10th and 11th graders on team , ???????? there are 2 girls, seniors from LI, that I know of and probably at least 5 more that should be on that team before the underclassman. this is embarrassing to girls lacrosse in the US. Politics. Two of the best players in the country from LI were not on that team. you guys can take it from there."
The one certainty in girls / women's lacrosse is that there will always be parents whining every time other players are recognized as being better than their daughters. Club team tryouts, HS tryouts, School Girl tryouts, During the recruiting process, Under Armour tryouts, Inside Lacrosse Rankings, Under Armour All-American selection, US U19 tryouts etc... There are certain parents who just can not take it if their daughter is not recognized. It is always a joke, it is always politics, it is always the "friends and family network", it is always a head scratcher, she will disappear in college, etc.. it is always the same BS. When The US U19 Team lost it was because of politics and because they picked the wrong girls. When The US Team wins it is because there was no competition. It was embarrassing when they lost it is now embarrassing that they won. We read on here how the college coaches at the best programs get it wrong all of the time yet somehow their teams are consistently ranked among the best. Not some of the time, it is every time. Every time there is a list put out or a team selected or standouts at a particular event recognized certain parents come on here and do their best to diminish the accomplishments, awards or recognition. I assume they are trying to elevate their daughter by knocking other players.
The bottom line is that some parents just can not get over it when other players are recognized ahead of their daughter. I have read on this site comments from lunatics who are so bitter over players getting more recognition than their daughter while in high school that they are still posting negative nonsense and attempting to tear a player down three years into the players college career. Insanity.
I wonder if the medical community has a professional / psychological / clinical diagnosis for these nut jobs?
Look for the diagnosis directly under your post which is listed as an example of semantic satiation. You have way too much time on your hands. Or....a vested interest in labeling, assuming, and putting down those with a differing opinion a lunatic or a nut job? Facts are, this tournament wasn't competitive when highly skilled players were playing teams whose players couldn't catch and throw with an opposite hand. And the embarrassment comments were shared between what's viewed when college-level players are playing middle school talent, and the selection choices of an obviously biased coach. When US Lacrosse promoted the process would be fair, open and transparent, the selections were anything but. And in anyone's viewpoint, unless you benefitted or stood to gain from that selection, that's embarrassing. Sadly, between 2015 and 2019, at the U19 level, the game didn't grow as many on here have hoped. You couldn’t have said that any better, agree100% .Unfortunately some people live in lala land and refuse to acknowledge the obvious. Agreed!!! Welcome to the new america, where an informed individual gets shouted down. Just realize that many people feel the same way.

New poster and honest question here... do you think the Olympics will let in a sport where the competition is so imbalanced?

I think the point of the original post was to point to the fact that certain parents go on the attack any time players other than their daughter are recognized or given accolades. The post was not intended to endorse U19 or anything else. It was just to point out that many parents can not take it when others are recognized ahead of their daughter. No need to go back to 2015. Here is a post from 8/16/19 # 291370 "Girls 2023 thread"... ---"those interchangeable players that will stay on the AA team are F & F now of 2 coaches. The other girls will be dropped...and they are just as good as the girls who stay. Its all who you know in this age bracket. truth"--- It is the same BS all the time... "Friends & Family" "other players just as good" "it's all who you know" on and on the same BS all the time. "Coaches get it wrong all the time" "it's a joke" "she will never see the field in college" "she will major in basketweaving" Bla Bla Bla...

Don’t matter if it’s UA, schoolgirls, Brine, USA, Newsday list, FLG list, BOTC list.... people just detest on it. Why can’t people who didn’t make the team or list or didn’t try out, just be happy for the kids that did? Spend more time worrying your own kids, maybe they will benefit from that.

For the 2021's the only lists that matter are the college coaches lists. This is where the rubber meets the road and players and parents will find out where the player stands in relation to her peers on and after September 1st.

Was that you I saw at the All-County dinner with the laxers on your face when my daughter was named All-American and yours was snubbed?

Sally’s daddy claims his daughter is an All American lacrosse player as well as “tearing it up” on the soccer field. Yet Sally’s daddy needs to come on an anonymous web and trash others. Now does anyone here remotely believe Sally’s fantasy world, created by her lonely daddy? Does it sound logical? Or does Sally’s daddy seem like a bit of a sociopath who makes up an alternate reality for his Sally?

That said I am unfamiliar with the event he is bashing , is it new , and is there a tryout or is it an application type thing. If its new I would say the jury is still out on if its a decent event . I would also say that they did not promote it that well as no one I have talked with knew anything about it but hopefully it turns out to be another opportunity for players.

Parents come on here, post about an All American daughter, killing it in the classroom and basically on top of the world, yet some other girl gets a crumb and it's a "waste of time" and nonsense and a joke. It sounds a whole lot more like sour grapes than pride to me.

Agree that US Lacrosse did not do a very good job publicizing it. Also, having the combine after fall sports started was unfortunate. The event itself is certainly something that any kid that makes the team should enjoy. Playing at the Fall Classic with the mens and womens US and Canadian national teams as well as the UVA men and Maryland women will be a great experience. The talent at the girls U17 tryouts was very good. I'm not sure how the other 3 groups were. That said, there definitely were plenty of great U17 eligible players that were not there. But considering who was there, making that team is an accomplishment. Many 2020 girls there that are already committed to top schools and a very good group of 2021s also.

Love see bench warmers dad trying to figure stuff out. Congratulations for making an August money grab. Funny how US Lacrosse promotes multisport athletes, but then holds lame events during fall sport season!

I would say it doesn't matter what the event is. Why does it matter at all? Parents come on here, post about an All American daughter, killing it in the classroom and basically on top of the world, yet some other girl gets a crumb and it's a "waste of time" and nonsense and a joke. It sounds a whole lot more like sour grapes than pride to me. Angry much. Poster had some legit questions and your answer is bitterness. No sir, there was no legit question as you say, just a shallow person who’s daughter didn’t make an event writing an opinion to minimize others accomplishment. That is true bitterness. The sad part is the imaginary accomplishment of his own child. Everyone knows a parent of an accomplished athlete, they don’t wish I’ll on others, nor do they boast about there own, that is the realm of a shallow small minded person

A poster asks if the event is new and how one gets selected . Maybe they want their kid to tryout or whatever in the future . Your ridiculous response to those questions clearly indicates you are unstable. If anyone has the actual answers to those questions it would be nice to know. Also is there a list of participants anywhere.

The kids invited to the combine are listed there as well as information on the process. Results haven’t been sent out yet so no one knows who made the team.

I think perhaps the writer didn't see the initial post by Sally's dad. The response to the "question" is not inflammatory or angry, it is a response to the "original" Sally daddy poster.

Does anyone have any knowledge of boarding schools in the NE or MidAtlantic that recruit girls for lacrosse? Mainly Hun or Linden Hall? Do BS recruit? I didn’t think they really were competitive. There a boy at the local school who just went to Westtown for lacrosse sophomore year.

"is it new , and is there a tryout or is it an application type thing" legit questions to me but not to the overly sensitive crowd I guess Is it new? - Yes, two new age groups U15 and U17 added as a feeder program into already existing U19 and Senior National Team Program. Is it a tryout? - Yes, but players must have an invitation to attend combine. it is a multi step tryout. They had 21 regional tryouts all over the nation coupled with WPPL futures. Select group of girls made the regional teams for the WPPL event, then an even more select group were invited to the national combine. That is the final tryout where they will select the final roster of 22 from. Now let’s put this topic to bed, talk about sept 1st or something new.

Also some parts of the country were already back in school last week. My daughter - a 2020 committed to a good program for a while now - decided not to pursue this. There was not good information about what the whole thing entailed back when we heard about it. We would have had to travel out of state for the tryout at a busy time of the school year (no mention of applying with film back then). For us, weighing travel time and expense plus tryout fees, it was not something we wanted to do with a kid who will be playing at the college level in one year. Was not worth it for us for the chance to wear a USA uniform and play teams that may not be all that competitive. But, I don't understand bashing others for choosing to participate in something. Choose to try out, or choose not to try out, and then move on and mind your own business about other people's decisions. I'm sure it will be a fun experience, but I would not expect any future U19 or team USA coach to base player selection on whether or not someone was on the U15 or U17 roster.

Will the combine results be publicized? I took a look at the girls who made it to this last cut -many were from all over lots of Georgia, California, Illinois... And the familiar names were sparse... MidAtlanitc Dad

MidAtlanitc Dad Yes. They haven't even let the girls know who made it yet. Agree not a lot of MD girls attended, it just wasn't well publicized. There were a lot of familiar names on the last list from LI and New England however.
