Service academies are able to communicate with players starting 7/1 prior to their junior year.

Service academies are allowed to contact as of yesterday....They get more time because of their unique situation

I believe Military Academies have access after June 15.

Reality: DC's Command team D was much better than the Baltimore Command's in the playoffs, Frankly, both Baltimore goalies made numerous door step saves to keep the margin at 3 (it easily could have been 5 or 6). During the playoff round, DC's team D didn't have many holes: super strong take away close Dmen, great individual and team D play by their two way middies, 3 skilled disciplined communicative LSMs and two outstanding and peaking/hot keepers. In addition to their great D play, the DC Command middies also out played their playoff opponents in unsettled and settled O. Baltimore's attack and face off game were both clearly formidable but DC did a great job matching up on them in the playoffs. My conclusion: coaching adjustments really matter at the higher levels.

All the Spalding Hawks already have full rides lined up to the finest schools. Daddy Hawk has it all planned out. Shouldn’t coaches be able to talk to them Sept 1st because most of the are actually 21s.

If those kids though losing in the MIAA was bad this year - just wait til next year - it’s gonna be worse. All the playoff teams are reloading. Do yourself a favor boys and get the heck out of there.

NHSLS competition looks good lots of talented teams coming to town playing in both sessions.

These haters were silent the entire 4 days after Baltimore beat DC in the first game, then went 4-0 to become the #1 seed with a bye in the first playoff round! DC was a great team, they did play a great playoff game and absolutely deserve the win. See how that works when you can compliment a team without being a hater? What the haters wont admit, or point out is that Baltimore did have 3 great players who were injured and limping through the games. Hawks/Spaulding players played great throughout the tournament, so did the Catonsville players, so did everyone else. The Baltimore injured attackman who scored several goals against DC in the first game, played mostly on the crease after that game because he could not plant and change directions, or dodge and distribute from X like he normally does due to his ankle injury. In the second game the penalties were 6-0 in favor of DC, despite several clear, loud slashes, a blatant trip and tons of heavy back and freehand checks by DC players, which drew quick flags against Baltimore!? Baltimore had 0 man up opportunities to DC's 6? Not even 1 bad call against DC? Baltimore's middies took several weak shots from outside that were essentially turnover passes to DC's goalies. DC's goalies also made some very good doorstep saves throughout the game and towards the end when it was a one goal differential, which along with a couple penalties, effectively killed Baltimore's rally attempt. DC played VERY good defense, their poles and midfielders were great in transition. DC was clearly hungry after their first loss to Baltimore and many Baltimore players absolutely showed up that morning more worried about the Championship game than the semi-final game. DC had a solid win earlier that morning and some momentum under their belt. If that game is played 10 times, Baltimore wins 5 times, probably even with injured players. BOTH teams were great and that is what you expect from 2 final 4 participants at the UA games. That's it in a nutshell, but haters have to hate to remain relevant!

I don't see someone complimenting a team, I see a whiner blaming officials and injury for the team's loss and overusing the word great. Just because they are close in ability doesn't make either of one them great, just equal. Don't worry, you will get them next year and if you don't it will be someone else's fault.

The Club and HS coach for B'more took all of their kids and buddies kids. Some of those boys are great players and many were just along for the ride. If the Baltimore coaches really wanted to win, vice rep their club and HS school players then they could have done just that. There were lots of big, strong, fast and talented athletes at the Baltimore call back game. What they chose was based off pure nepotism and many of those players were absolutely pathetic in comparison to the talent at the call back game. That is why Baltimore got their nose rubbed in sh#t and sent packing on their home turf once again.

Seems like the Hawks on the best D1 teams are sitting on the bench while the Hawks at the lest prestigious D1 programs are kicking butt. Which ones had help getting to accepted to the best D1 teams? hmmm....

St. Paul will have a hard time recruiting also since they expect the kids to go to high school in old trailers for a couple years.

The coach has been hosting out of state talent at his house with room, board & tuition and it looks like he will need to do more of it to keep them competitive.

The Baltimore's attack unit was second to none in the tournament save injuries, Their goalies were second to none. On the other hand their middies and poles (as a group not indivdually) fell short of the some of the other playoff teams. Just one man's opinion but their weaknesses seemed to be magnified in the playoffs.

Spalding competing for a playoff spot? What? Zero chance. JC, Severn and MSJ will be their only wins. Perennial bottom feeders.

The only Baltimore team to not win the UA Championship was the Boys Command team. You are what your record says you are.

Could not be further from the truth. 20 coaches from various local high schools, clubs, colleges and private training organizations sat down with clip boards full of notes on player numbers and voted for players whose numbers stood out at the tryouts. Coaches recognize certain players and numbers, but many coaches do not know all the players and numbers and the consensus was the same across the board with all the numbers that stood out. Nobody had to fight to get a player on the team. Coaches who had no idea which players were which numbers, picked the same player numbers from their notes as the coaches who may have known. If a player number received enough support from all the coaches, an up and down vote was taken. In other words, every player on the roster received a majority of votes from 20 coaches, many of which only knew the player as a number. It is completely absurd to think that 18 of 20 coaches thought your kid belonged on the team and he still did not make it! Instead of spending so much time on this forum spreading false information about a process and event for which you are clueless, maybe you should be using all that skill to teach your kid how to stand out at a tryout?

Sounds like you should try watching it! Sometimes your kid doesn't look as good on film as your motherly instincts remember.

I wasn't at any of the UA tryouts but I did see the final result on the field. The Baltimore team was not as athletic, fast, physical or as skilled as the DC team at the midfield and defensive positions. I don't know whether this Baltimore age group is weaker at those positions (as a group not individually)? Maybe the evaluators were bamboozled by player "club/high school hype" and/or the size of the candidates but the fact is their units couldn't match up with the DC squad. The key in picking these type of squads is picking a team, not necessarily a team of the best individual players.

Baltimore had some of the most athletic defenders in 2022 lacrosse. They played 1 bad game. The 4 games prior they were outstanding.

Giving up 8 goals to the NJ team was not outstanding. Remember the DC team only gave up 3 to this one and only common opponent. Sorry but your analysis is found wanting Dad.

Brilliant reasoning! So, what does it say about the DC defense that they gave up 10 to Balto. the first time around. Don't overload that electrical circuitry upstairs. Might trip a breaker.

91MD and FCA play at Inside Lacrosse instead of Naptown? FCA has been absent at Most of the bigger, more competitive tournaments this summer. Are they just trolling for highlight clips?

I am watching Team Nine1 play in Naptown Championship. It is almost comical listening to commentators figuring out the graduation years of TEAM Nine1 players. I guess NY cant act holier than tho about the holdback game now.

4 young MIAA teams go undefeated in pool play at NHSLS. Only Spalding, St. Marys, Severn, and St. Joe did not participate. Great to watch MIAA teams and their players support each other all weekend. Congrats to all teams and players. This event is head and shoulders better than any club event out there.
