Two of the 3 SM kids are ALL MIAA, All County, 3 & 4 UA time Baltimore team members and USA U19 Tryout invitees. They are good. The Spalding kids played for a team that beat MSJ, barely beat Severn and almost lost to JC. Most GA in the league. Yet - 5 of them are on the Command team? Why is it so difficult to comprehend that being a great rising sophomore and playing for a subpar A conference team can be mutually exclusive. I can answer that.. Jealousy and envy of Spalding and players. HIT THE WALL !!!

When the MIAA school that has the most representation on a UA roster is Spalding the books are cooked. A JV and Varsity squad that couldn’t make the playoffs but has the 5 best 10th graders in the league. More than Calvert Hall? more than McDonogh? More than St. Marys? Come on now...
Yes we are jealous of Spalding because of its proximity to BWI and Shake Shack.

Teams win with 9th thru 12th grade players?? or did you think that it was all 10 graders playing Varsity ?? I am sure that McD. BL, CH all have many players besides 10th graders leading their team. You really need to come up with some better reasons for your dislike of Spalding. Maybe take up baseball , i heard that Spalding baseball team is looking for some players

9th and 10th graders make up the Command Team genius. I believe all the kids that made it were on the Varsity roster and - well - Spalding is awful. Next year let’s make the MSJ coach the UA Coach and stack the roster with MSJ players.

I could put together a squad of the best rising 10th grade lacrosse players in the Mid-Atlantic and they would still finish out of the top 4 in the MIAA assuming the other teams had an upperclass laden roster. What planet are you on??

What planet are you on?? In most years this is true however, the rising tenth graders we are discussing in this situation are very VERY special boys. As freshmen on the varsity they "hung with" the sixth best team in the league (and only lost because their upperclassmen teammates were not as talented and have character issues). If these 22s had the right teammates and coaches they would have won that game. BOOK IT! There are a lot of action photos to back up this all up.

Lacrosse is an afterthought at Marty Spalding. Perennial basement dweller in the A League. The vaunted 22 class isn’t gonna save the program. Several of those special 22s are transferring to St Marys. Smart kids. Win in Annapolis or lose in Glen Burnie. Which would you chose?

Spaldings JV team can’t keep it done at inside lacrosse tournament the last 3 days with a weak playing field. Losing twice to a 3D pacific team.

Can you Spalding lovers and haters possibly take this feud over to the 2022 forum and leave this forum for the rest of us who may just have something POSITIVE to say about the rest of the High School teams.

Why go to school, just wait to receive the "living wage" from the soon to be in power socialist politicians. The only problem, the folks who actually pay the taxes to fund all of this foolishness will move to lower tax states and nations and you "do gooders" will be left on a proverbial "snipe hunt" to try and find revenue and assets you can tax.

Public School News....... Best kept secret in the state is the talent accumulating at Catonsville Senior High. The freshman class was the best in the region with top club players from Rough Rider Lacrosse Club. Three kids made UA. They added a St. Pauls attack to go with the best offensive freshman in the state. Mt. St. Joe's dumpster fire of a program (third coach in 12 months) will likely lose some players to CHS in the coming weeks. Top staff in the 4A region Incredible freshman class coming in as well. Loonies top close defender, goalie, two poles and athletic mids from 91. The team came within a goal of knocking off Howard in the P/O. Keep your eyes open for these kids.

This isn't really a secret since they were in the paper. But you know what is not that well known? The great education the kids are getting at these public schools. I was talking to a parent of a recent graduate from Catonsville, and I could not believe the schools some of their graduates are going to. MIT, Cal Tech, Georgia Tech, tons going to MD -- no easy feat getting in there these days. If you think your kid is getting an academic advantage by going private, think again. Might want to save your beans for college.

Looking at the UA rosters you can clearly see daddy ball had a big influence on the command and uncommitted teams. If corrigan sports wants to continue with the UA hype they better wise up. People are starting to see all the BS favoritisms that come with the tryouts.

I would venture to say that a coaches kid outclasses yours at the minimum with the IQ of the game.

Now we have players going to other areas just to make teams. This along with the actual process of tryouts is starting to give UA a bad reputation. Many are questioning the UA games . Should be region based teams and complete unbiased tryouts.. I am a dreamer, never happen i know
