playing varsity as an 8th grader for any LI school is a major achievement....

its a big achievement at 9th grade! its not my son who moved up to varsity, but lets gives these kids the credit that they deserve...

btw - can we leave anthony's and chaminade out of the conversation??
- they dont have a middle school to bring kids up... so it sounds silly to use them as an example

probably agree but thats why these posts are on the 2017 board...

and besides, if 7th and 8th grade doesn't matter, why are there so many, so called recruiting camps popping up for this age bracket all over LI??

To answer your question it's because they are a license to print money and that is the ONLY reason!

Like I can believe our public skool edjumacational system can produce a kid who can structure a response like this.

7-10 on that list are laughable! The Jesters are terrible at this age group. My sons town team has beaten them badly every time including this winter.

Top 5 are on the money they way you listed it, IMO. fl$ does nothing till summer so shouldn't be that high and have a few good players but thats it. I feel Jesters belong at #7 and shouldn't move down.

Being seventh on a comparative ranking does not make those teams laughable - it makes them ... seventh.

Let's put this another way : anyone outside of the top ten academically at your kid's school is laughable when it comes to academics. Get the point?

There are two teams at this age for jesters...

When a weak town team beats the Jesters every time convincingly I would say they are no where near the top 10 out of the at least 20 teams at this age group on the island! The Pride didn't even have cuts at this age anyone who wanted to pay made the team!

So, for you to say that they are "no where near the top 10", it means you have another set of teams in mind. Join the discussion and name your other teams for the top ten listing.

Rankings are NOT a measure of absolute skill and ability - they are a measure of relative skill and ability. Which means if Team X is not in the top ten, Team Y must be.

My kid is not on the Jesters now, but has played with a group of the kids. They are very talented and play hard.

2017 boys: RVC Futures 7/8 plays LI Express Terps Sunday at 9:00AM. We will see how they match up...

Interesting, considering Jesters 2017 Black did not play in any league or tournament over the winter that had town teams.

Jesters 2017 Black did play Gladiators in the fall and won, in OBLL and lost.

Maybe your sons town team played someone else over the winter.

People reference the Jesters 2017 "Black" as being a better team but I was told that both of the 2017 Jester teams will play in the exact same tournaments in the B division this summer.

Jesters Black has only played Manhasset town team in the fall league. Manhasset beat them pretty handily however Manhassets town team would give most travel teams at this age group a run for their money. Jesters Black is a pretty competitive team with most of the travel teams on LI.

most realistic list thus far, yet I'd put terps B above fl$...based on cumulative playing time alone...fl$ has minimal field time at this point

turtles will be surprised with either Terps black or TB...both very strong, fast and physical squads that are both playing strong JV level ball at this time for 8th graders

Umm, FYI - the fall league game against the Gladiators the Jesters didn't have a goalie. The Gladiators goalies split time playing for both teams. Are you really counting that as a win? Besides it was fall ball - meaningless.

91 WHITE?? lol! I watched Regular Terps (B) crushed them last week in Massapequa. had to be 13-1. If they are both B, than express B is million times better than 91 B.

As good as TB is they might have trouble in the hot summer, don't have the depth that Turtles or Terps black teams have. Thats why several have them in the 3rd slot. Gladiators are much better than the Jester Blk teams also. fl$ is lucky to be on the list, they should be #10. Terps at #8 and Outlaws at #9

Sure he did.......Jesters Black are playing in A division in every tournament in which they are entered..

That must have been a different game your thinking of, when the Jesters black team played the Gladiators in the fall we had our own goalie and we won the game by a goal in a very exciting well played game....yes the game was meaningless as was the OBLL game in which the Gladiators beat us....I think the point is that the Jesters are a competitive team and deserve to be mentioned with the better teams. They are not in the top tier to be sure but I think they are right in the mix with the second tier of teams on Long Island, Gladiators, Outlaws, fl$, etc.......Why anyone feels the need to put down a bunch of 13 year old kids who bust their butts to be where they are is beyond me, kudos to all the teams out there. To me Long Island lacrosse is the best in the world and I think we have the best talent in the country at this age group. Be proud that your son is on a team at all and can compete at this level......

2- 13year old... calls anyone shallow or immature??

What is a Regular Terp? If you really watched you would know it was a mixed group of Terps and Terps Black and that was told to me by Express parents. Also 91 had only 3 Defensemen and 15 players in total. If your going to brag at least be honest.
