Just curious if anybody knows how many Turtles have actually been moved up to JV in the traditional lacrosse power towns - GC, West Islip, Manhasset, Ward Melville, Massapequa etc.? Not talking about weaker school programs.

According to the Turtles website the boys are from the following towns: Would be particularly interested to hear about the CSH, Manhasset, Smithtown West and Ward Melville boys. These are tough towns to get moved up in. Cold Spring Harbor 4 Manhasset 4 Smithtown East 4 Smithtown West 1 Hauppauge 1 Deer Park 1 Ward Melville 1 Kings Park 1 Sachem 1 Mt Sinai 1

Give us all a break. If you have a thing for them good for you. Most everyone could care less. Nobody cares. You can pat yourself on the back later.

Just an FYI, in the Smithtown School District the AD has a strict, very strict rule. No athlete can be moved up one level as an 8th grader. You can only go up 2 levels and you have to play 75% of the game. In my humble opinion......ridiculous rule needs to be changed and updated. If a coach and parent agree that the 8th graders talent is good enough for JV or Varsity so be it. It is done all over the island and state. This would help build the program and athletes to feed the system. So you will not see any Team Smithtown, Turtles 91 or Express, True B, Gladiators, Jesters or whatever be moved up to JV and rarely to Varsity(exception:James Pannell -UVA)

Get off your high horse Mr Turtle, your ship might've sailed. If you were at SS yesterday I think you would see what people mean on here.

3-If you dont move me up i will go to Chaminade.
4-You can fill in the ______________.

Great day of lacrosse in some cold conditions. I think all three Teams can beat each other on any given day, which makes for good competitive lacrosse. ( Terps, Team 91 and True Blue). I do think 91 is a little better then they showed, just a bad day. Terps are solid.( long pole middies make life tough on the other Team). True Blue played more of a Team game then in the past . Would like to see how fl$ would do against this group?
Disagree that all 3 can beat each other on any given day. 91 and fl$ not in that class, too slow. And fl$ attempted that mix indoor in NJ and got smoked. Terps Black holds two wins over Trueblue, TB has one win on Terps Black. Turtles, terps black and TB, thats the mix. Too slow? You are delusional! Lets see in the spring/summer, when it really counts. Indoor is no indication of real lacrosse. This group should make for some excitment. Any given Sunday...

How about none of the above? Maybe just a phone call from the Varisty asking my kid to play up.

There is not much difference between Terps Black and True Blue. Terps Black has more depth at Middie, True Blue has more depth at attack. Both teams have solid poles. Goalies are strong for both. Terps Black had no face off specialist and were rotating kids, True Blue goes with one solid face off kid.
After the games one of the refs said he let the kids play, so this Long Island style of play may or may not be able to be exported to environments where the officiating is more restrictive. However in this environment it makes for fun lacrosse.

However in this environment it makes for fun lacrosse. Your breakdown of the two teams is close to what I see also to some degree and in talking to some other 2017 LI dads. I agree Terps Black has more depth at Middie than TB witch will help in summer. At Attack I respectfully disagree with you, stronger attack on Terps Black, FO, no doubt TB has a very strong young man at that spot and TB wins there over Black. Both teams are completely different Defensively, TB has a little size advantage on D with old school style smashers, where Terps Black is a fast athletic D that swarms, both defenses are relentless for sure. Goalies are both evenly very good! Nice to see both teams so strong for LI.

From what I've seen in several MD tournaments...our LI players are way behind in the use of aggression when skills of players are less than optimal as demonstrated by the Breakers and Crabs and Green Turtles....our kids will look like good guys compared to those goons.

The real competition is right here in his back yard as evidenced by all of the kids who made brine and jake reed...can anyone say "turtle soup? cowards

My son plays on one of those Teams, I appeciate the confidence. I feel the Turtles would beat us pretty good. I think they would beat all three. Thats just my opinion. Also, if my Son was asked to join the Turtles he would be thrilled.
If you want to beat them, get Mule to hand pick 17 kids from those three Teams and then maybe you can beat them.

wow, a lot of venom directed at a group of 13 year old boys? I cant believe the hatred and jealousy that is directed at this group of kids. My son plays for a mid level 2017 team and he has played with and against a lot of these Turtle kids for a few years now and it has always been my observation that the Turtle kids are good, hardworking kids. It has also been my experience that they have handled all comers at the 2017 level so far, including a recent fall matchup against the 2017 Terps team which they handled easily. I understand some of the animosity towards the coach, but I will never understand calling 13 year old boys cowards.........
They are the best team at the age group in the country, get used to it and over it.

Mule? Why are you saying he should pick 17 kids from TB, terp black and 91? Now Mule is the best evaluator of talent? Listen if you said take the best 10 from TB and best 10 from terps black NOW its another animal! 91 isn't in that mix! TB crushed them, not just 8-4 but a beating. If terps black beat TB twice, what do you think terps black would do to 91?
TB and Terps black in a different category than 91, as far as turtles it would be a good game between TB & turtles or terps black & turtles. Not a "blow out" either way.
I will say this about Mule, at least he stayed and watch the two teams play in the championship, several of us saw JD leave before it started.

Buddy, you are way too invested in your 14yr old. You need to get a hobby of your own. The Terps had a tryout process that lasted nine months, held about 100 practices and played around 10 tournaments. Guess what, they should be good. Unfortunately for you, it means absolutely nothing.

Terp fall match up vs turtles was AFTER a fall tournament where the terps went 3-0 and the turtles went 2-1 in the same bracket. It was a pick up game at the end of the day, the current Terp Black players for about the first half where the score was turtles up by 1 or 2 goals. 2nd half, well not the same terps personal. Please do your homework before you come on here and say things that are misleading and false. But than again your son is NOT on the turtles right? He's on a "mid level 2017 team" but you respect and love the turtle team so much you found the need to support them on here, very nice of you!

I dont believe I said anything false or misleading. If my information was correct the Turtles ended up winning by 7 or 8 goals? If I am wrong then I apologize, but I watched some of the game and the Turtles were clearly better. For you to call it a "pick up" game is misleading and false. My son is not a Turtle as a matter of fact, I just dont understand the jealousy and hatred directed towards them, nor do I understand grown men calling 13yr old boys "cowards". I also dont understand people like yourself that feel the need to come on here and explain how the Express "Terps" black or whatever your calling that team these days are better than everyone else. You have a very good team there, why cant you just leave it at that? Be happy your son is on a good team.

The Turtle bashing on this forum is comical, They are the class of the 8th grade teams. The team everyone else is shooting for, no one has gotten them yet BUT they will and soon. Even JD has to admit that half his team has already peaked physically, and Petro is not looking for a 5 foot tall attackmen or F/O.

Well said. As far as college recruiters go, wins and losses on a club team no matter what club team means absolutely nothing!!! All that matters is how that kid plays. Especially at showcases when he is NOT playing with his buddies or being coached by a dad!!!!

I will say this about Mule, at least he stayed and watch the two teams play in the championship, several of us saw JD leave before it started. Were you at the 91 VS TB game? It was 7-5 & TB won the game by out playing 91 that day, period. TB outplayed Terps Black in the first game also! I dont care if it was cut short, they outplayed Terps! No one is on here saying "they took a beating" or got "crushed". Have some class. These are 13 year old boys & even they know enough not to trash talk eachother. There is some amazing talent @ this age level on several different LI teams. It just takes the obnoxious Express "Lax daddy" to turn this to s*#t! To take 91 (or fl$ or any other team) out of the running & to annoint yourselves in another level because you won a March tournament is pathetic!

Actually the score was 16-2 against the terps and 29-8 against 91 orange indoors less seven turtle kids. I know I know indoor means nothing and you are correct. Outdoors would have been a shutout Turtles are the "TOP". They beat us by more than a few goals, this should not be disputed. We (actually, my boy's team) can take and learn from this. Please be more accurate with your score report, and stop with the "less 7 kids" stuff. It was not the case. As I said, Turtles are the best in their age, hands down. Stirring the crap..... it can't be THAT much fun. I DID, however, giggle about a couple of the Turtle DAD'S "schtick"s during the game. You know, the one where a guy with deficiencies won't return a smile or a nod, and wants you to feel as if you had woken him up from hibernation to take his son here, only to beat your team by over 10 goals. ONE thing for sure- the Dads' deficiencies are likely NOT income based, nor kids' lax abilities! Have fun and enjoy- GO TURTLES! MAKING LI PROUD!!
