Anyone have any info about new team out east forming called epic jokers? Heard a coach who used to be at Mamaz Boyz formed it. Wondering if its a good option? New teams no one has ever heard of can not be a good option. Lots of growing pains in the Travel Lax Team world. Let others experience them.

That team fell apart this year, because directors put too much pressure on parents for fundraising. The coach of 2025 left Mamaz Boyz and is setting up own club centered around kids out east. I think he is a Varsity head coach as well at one of the eastern Long Island schools. Probably worth going to tryouts if you live in eastern Long Island because cost is pretty low. Only $1350-. Limitation is only Long Island tournaments. But some parents may prefer that.

My son tried out for 24 Lax 2025 and there coach mentioned how they were a mid level B team this past summer and are trying to get to the B+ level. Still looking to add a few players. Is it worth looking into or showing up to their practice/eval on Tuesday of next week?
Keeping it real, in my opinion, I would not say they were a B+ team last season. Tough at this age for 1st year B teams. I don’t expect IglooB and 91B to be good either in their first year. Legacy and Express were the best B teams last season. When those two played other B teams last year they won easy.

So clearly Express isnt too proud of other wins. And as I remember your other fall tournament, you were not competitive at all. What tournaments in season did you win? Abd how did you do on others? Lets be real, no insult to the kids, but I know OReilly kids who were completely frustrated about the level of the team and lack of committed training by the organisation. Oreilly kids can be seen all over at tryouts looking for other teams. It was not a positive experience for kids on that team. This is not an insult against your kids. Your kids got robbed.

My son was on the team and we moved on. They really won 3 though - Blatant in fall, and 2 very low-end tourneys at St Pauls in June / July. We beat the really bad teams - 24, Recon, Mamas Boyz B (2026 team) - we got killed by all of the other "competitive" programs. Half the team could play and would have developed nicely, but the other half was below PAL level. It was even playing time, regardless of the game situation. From what I understand most of the better players went elsewhere.

All without 91 double dipping and sending their teams to their own crap tournaments with no competition. Express is better in every way.

Stop with the rough time garbage! They would still be one of the top threee teams in NY if they hadn’t turned it upside down last August! But they knowingly let the inmates run the asylum and that’s what you get! If your kid is there and he is above average i would look to relocate. The new name is going to be the gevils! They’ve already asked 5 of the kids from the B team to come up this year. Probably won’t even be a B team anymore . Well the B team will be the A team! Have fun with that bill. You paid for it once , make sure you don’t pay for it again! It’s like a hot stove , you won’t touch it twice!

Why is Legacy the only club that doesn’t post any information about their directors or coaches on their website? Are they embarrassed about their credentials? Is every team coached by daddy coaches? Also If they are a top club like they say they are why dont they take part in the NLF?

Thanks for the concern but we keep laughing. Our coaches and directors told parents to take a hike after they tried to dictate the direction of the team. Did your team do the same? No they took 3 kids on mid year. They took 2 more families they knew will be completely disruptive this year and now the other kids are looking to get out. Express kids are running as well. Chan now has 3 7th graders sitting in Luhi and Kellenberg waiting to play on 2025. So thanks again for the concern but think will be fine.

Coach and owner ALLOWED and encouraged the inmates to run the asylum. Very sad that you come on here and spew lies to anyone. Those parents 100 percent dictated the direction of the team and left after they saw that there was zero coaching, practices being cancelled at every turn. You can take credit for them leaving but the truth is every single one of them left on their own. No one told them to “take a hike”. But typical lies as usual. and if the organization was so stellar in handling this the team wouldn’t be going through “hard times”. The owner and coach ruined this team. They know it.

Need a topic change. I am noticing an interesting trend. People are opting for A teams on 2nd tier clubs vs top tier B teams. Even though the ability level is equal for both teams. Especially, noticeable this grade and down. It’s clear that the business model is changing, the top tier clubs lack of attention in their B program, will lead to clubs essentially having one team per grade, for the most part.

He is encouraging for the kids. But he doesnt seem to have an understanding of lacrosse language and what he says doesnt make sense at times. He needs to work on that. And probably could be a bit less vocal, and leave that to the head coach.”
