Not Express at this age group! They give you zero infomation about the upcoming year. Just show up, s/u and pay the fees. Ridiculous.

...and that's the tricky part....unless your son (or daughter) is a top AA player, in my experience, you'll have to work to get the information and guidance you're looking for. Also have to be strong enough to ask, not whine about what's not being handed to you, even tho you're a paying customer. It's not right, but it's just different than almost any other thing you'll buy because you're kid is directly affected and in the hands of people who have many many kids and parents all looking to get the most attention and the most recognition. Emotions can run extremely high. Navigate intelligently looking for maximum development, maximum playing time, maximum fun and interest for the kid, while assessing what level they are eventually looking for (HS, D3, D2, D1) while being VERY honest and realistic and while balancing travel and cost. How badly the kid wants it is extremely critical. Whew. This is easy for few, but you need to be able to establish a line of communication with the coach or director that is comfortable for both. Without that, frustration ensues, but, it can be found at Express or any other club...if all these things match well for you personally.

Good luck!

Well written.....You need to know who is coaching you child. Your child can grow as a player on a C,B,A,AA team.... If, and only if, you get a great dedicated coach. Unfortunately, at the larger clubs, the best coaches are coaching AA teams. Other teams get filled by family members, friends or college kids. Then its just luck of the draw.....buyer beware. Personally we have had great seasons and terrible seasons at the same club. Carefully look at the tryout info produced club's websites. Less info given, more to be concerned about.

The sad thing is that for the money you spend, you would think the club would have some sort of plan for these kids. They have been doing it long enough The total lack of communication from the directors infers the could careless as long as the money rolls in.

At the same time, parents seem to never voice their concerns to the club out of fear. Fear of what, who knows.

Seems obvious to me....fear that they blow it, aggravate the coach/director and the kid will pay for the mistake.

Lefty attack from igloo is going back to 91. Penguin is headed back. This is 100% true. Igloo in crisis mode.

I find that hard to believe. JR get 100% of the touches on 91. On igloo he is the man and he will be relegated to just get the ball to JR and clear out on 91. Also other coach’s son is a lefty.

Only time will tell but I have to admit, they are impressing me already.
Within an hour of registrating, they called and thanked us. Asked if we had any questions.....That is one more called than we ever received from large clubs in 6 years!

They already said one team per age group so they will be cuts.... no money grab. Coaches are named and so are the tourneys.

Still a long way to go but at least they are organized!

Yes light at this age group but it seems like many returning players from 91 are not attending.

Look at the igloo damage control going on here. I think the best igloo kids realize that team is sinking fast

United lost to Laxachussets Navy, their worst team, and lost to CSC, a Texas B Team, at NLF. United also lost to two school JV teams at Hills vs Autism tournament the week before.

Makes sense. Teams like Smash add via recruitment not at tryouts, sorry it’s the truth. United players are with the new club. And that leaves very little interest in playing at 2022 level for this club in my opinion. It’s 9th grade kids don’t move that much. They either stick with their club or just do the school fall and summer teams, which have become in some cases nice options.

Ball hog

Was never on 91 - and we all know who the true ball hog is. It’s funny how they lose their last tournament because he wasn’t there and it’s crickets all of a sudden.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility of any movement in 91 Smash in regard to the goalie position? I believe the first goalie is a relative of coach, etc. Obviously he's guaranteed a spot. Any possibility of replacement of the other goalie with a new recruit or is he guaranteed a spot as well? Just curious.

Also, in regard to Igloo 2022AA anyone have any idea how talented their goalies are. How is the talent on that team as a whole? I heard there may be a lot of changes.

Why bother trying out for the Rebels 2022? If it’s just the outlaws , the team is set already. If they are only carrying 1 team it doesn’t really make sense to try out.

Lots of talent at the tryouts today... not so sure they just take the outlaws guys when they can have one of best teams around based on the talent.

Not what I heard from some people at tryouts today! Heard there were a few elite players from the outlaws and the rest were B level at best.

Rebels is not the Outlaws. Some Outlaw kids will try out. But in the end they will take the best kids at tryouts.

That’s if the whole team come over. Don’t think for a second that some players tryout at another club or two. There is always uncertainty, the team didn’t do any better or worse this past season and players will explore moving.

The Outlaws team from last year was good, definitely A. They need to add to be “very very” good. They have some players that can contribute on the top 3. Why wouldn’t those kids test the water and see? If your son has a desire to play in college, they really should look at 91 or Express. But only if they can play. Being on the bench is a waste. That’s why I say test the waters. But I do t see a starter from the top 3 moving to a new club.

So crazy because igloo was the best at so many tournaments last summer. Hard to believe the team change so much.

Lets face facts, the Rebels will be almost the same as Outlaws Select last year. A good team with some great players! They will be a B+/A team again and hopefully won't duck the competition this year. Even though they went to a lot of away tournaments and still got there butts kicked!

And that’s the problem with LI lacrosse. Parents like you who think your son won’t play in college unless you play for 91 or express. Chan is too involved $$ with a certain north shore town to help anyone else with recruitment. There’s a long list of favors that have to repaid regardless of how good your son is. 91 is a little better, not much. Big 3? I guess you mean igloo? not much of a history with recruiting.

True... my older son plays D1 and played outlaws for 4 years.. they were not the top club on LI but he got recruited because he was good and when you are good they find you anywhere. That is a fact!

Correct, but playing with Express will increase those looks and that’s fact. They have better contact points. I know from personal experience. Believe or not, don’t care, your lost opportunity after this huge investment you have made.

Hello to those of you who feel it necessary to name call parents of young athletes; type the initials of the athletes; paying attention to who is talking to who on the sideline. YOU ARE DISGUSTING. Why to you care? Pay attention to your child and your business. Keep it in perspective -- this is lacrosse, a game - no one here is saving the world.
