Legacy at a Good Spot LMAO!!!! I guess the spot your talking about is sitting in 11th place out Twelve Teams who entered this past Tournament. Please don’t embarrass yourself anymore. you need to see the forest beyond the trees. The club is a winner. you will see . That’s why you are one of those pArents that care only about winning not development. You will see . You obviously have to learn the hard way. WAS a winner.... and having a director on here playing PR spin-master is pure sign of desperation. As if the Groupon wasn't bad enough So many bad, bad losses, and now they’ve lost games they should have won. Unfortunately losing is contagious. Thats a ridiculous statement. If that was true then Express abd 91 would be losing now. Both have went through very bad streaks. You know nothing about lacrosse. “Reilly is a nice guy and not a bad daddy coach. He is encouraging for the kids. But he doesnt seem to have an understanding of lacrosse language and what he says doesnt make sense at times. He needs to work on that.”

Do you know how hard it is cut a kid and family after a 10 month season. But if you want to improve and cut kids for talent and culture reasons, you have to.

He is encouraging for the kids. But he doesnt seem to have an understanding of lacrosse language and what he says doesnt make sense at times. He needs to work on that.” You all realize that there are many great club coaches out there that are are fathers of kids on a team and are really good coaches. The whole "daddy coach" thing is getting old now. Maybe, just maybe the problem is with all of you baby parents. Look, lets point some out, the little lefty attackmans daddy tried to leave in the middle of the season but his reputation proceeded him and they wouldn't take him. Then I guess he and his son don't understand that losing is part of the game and took there ball and left. That guy is going to ruin the game of lacrosse for his sons, he may have already done that with his older one. Same thing with the goalies mommy and daddy, always looking angry at the world and the loss is never there sons fault. And then you have the other 3 that left, what's going to happen come tryout time and 91 doesn't take you back or better yet bumps you to the new second team!! Oh no not the dreaded second team! My little champ can't do that he's too good!! Oh maybe you can go to express and be the 31st kid on the bench. You had a great team at the Geese and if they stayed together you would have had a great summer. Remember it's the parents that are making these choices, not the kids. The kids would have probably been more than fine if you left them where they were. The lacrosse world is a small one and news of nasty, baby, complaining parents travels fast. Some times it doesn't matter how good little junior is, if the parent is a trouble maker organizations will be hesitant to take them.

Have to have commitment and a willingness to change the talent and culture! That is what it takes. uote] You dont know about winning. Winning at all costs is a hollow win. Youth lacrosse should not be about winning at all costs. It should not be about winning where half a team sits on the sidelines. Its not about teaching kids that its okay not to play just as long as their on a winning team. Its not about being on a winning team where everyone doesnt get a fair shot. Youth lacrosse should not be about who you know. Youth lacrosse and any sport is about developing players in the sports, teaching team spirit, teaching ethics, having coaches that are good trainors and good role models. Sports is about developing kids into the exception that is an exceptional individual. Not someone who cares only about themselves or tags along following the status quo wrong or right. Professional sports and coaches constantly speak about this. And how they sit players who dont understand what it means to be a team. I have spoken to D1 and D2 coaches who completely pass on players who they and/or their parents see everything through a limited self focused lens. And if you think they dont question these top teams methods you are dead wrong. The big question is not what team your on, but does your kid get the opportunity to play. Unfortanatelly the top couple travel teams coaches are good trainors but are not good role models. Not when they stuff their rosters to make money, add mid season showing no loyalty to kids on their team, invite kids to tournaments during the season to recruit affecting existing kids play time, dont allow all their kids equal opportunities. They are sending kids the wrong message about sports. They are not producing the exception that become exceptional kids colleges and professional sports want. So keep on thinking you know about winning, but your fooling yourself.

If Legacy was honest from the beginning, the Geese would have a lot of changes from the start. All the kids left for certain reasons, it could of been for coaching, family etc. To make comments about why they left is wrong. The three kids that left for 91 were out the door before the season even started. Nobody was to blame for this team except Legacy. And to this parent who is commenting above you should be glad they left because your son now has some playing time because this fall you were sitting on the sidelines with a face on, thinking your son should be starting! Enjoy your last tournament playing B teams maybe you will get the win that you want mamma!!

Yea heard someones son was getting yelled at the 91 practice the other day... I know sometimes it’s hard to face reality. People can chirp all the want all I know is that one of the kids who left doesn’t even touch the field. You should have been thankful you touched the field at legacy and are able to play. At the end of the day... duke and Hopkins aren’t on the sidelines watching anyone’s kid at this age group. It’s about the development of the players and having fun. This website is a bunch of bull and people should keep their comments to themselves. You should worry about your own kids and stop being so judgmental towards others. Everyone has their own path towards their goals in life. You never know... your kid could love lacrosse now and not even play ever again as they grow. And we will all be sitting here laughing at how stupid this stuff is. Oh and other thing... the season started and your son and the golden children they are weren’t getting it done like the vision they had and they left so that you can blame the rest of these poor kids. Whatever have fun thanks for stirring the pot over here at legacy.. these boys stuck together and got it done no matter who was there and who left. And for the record... this team was never broken you guys were just poison to this team.

Dont pretend they left for different reasons. Everyone knows why they left. And team players is not part of their parents vocabulary. But you will find that out. And I was never on the sidelines at Legacy at any point this season. So keep on deflecting. Clearly I hit a chord with you. You see it, just dont want to acknowledge it.

You skipped the part where I said he seemed like a nice guy, and was encouraging to kids, and wasnt necessarily a bad assistant coach. Your being selective in what you quote. The fact is if a dad is doing it for the right reason, he can improve. There are good dad coaches and not good ones. Sone of the top teams have both as well, yet dont admit it. And dont address it.

No excuses needed from Geese. The ones that remain know and trust the process and the kids are not afraid to scrap and take a loss. They still wear the gold helmets with pride. They stayed loyal even when the water got rocky and the sharks circled the boat with big white teeth and bigger promises
Coach Reilly has been a great addition. The kids that took direction from him responded well. He was definitely a plus after all the drama. Good addition with Fiore.
As for next year the ones that were able to stick it out have been in both sides of the war and know how to handle adversity. And will be playing against kids that were taught to quit when it gets too hard.
Thank you to the parents that jumped in this year to help in many ways they did. And especially to the ones that still waited by the fence to greet the team after the bad losses the same way you did when we won championships. Thank you. Look forward to the fun times ahead. I am glad you and many other parents on the team are sticking it out. There is too many people moving their kids from team to team. Ultimately if you find a good team, with good training, that your child actually gets decent time on the field then that team will eventually be a good team and get through the rough times. I do believe the geese can be that. Chris Fiore is a talented and dedicated coach. But parents do need to insist that Legacy invest in a second paid coach who is not a daddy coach. If you want to compete against the bigger teams you have to have that. And Legacy defenitely is now at the price level like other big teams that they should be having it. Then if you want to have one or two daddy coaches to "assist" thats great. But they take direction from the 2 paid head coaches and are not over vocal. Let the head coaches do most of the instructional direction. Reilly is a nice guy and not a bad daddy coach. He is encouraging for the kids. But he doesnt seem to have an understanding of lacrosse language and what he says doesnt make sense at times. He needs to work on that. And probably could be a bit less vocal, and leave that to the head coach. Other big teams also have real problems with daddy coaches and much worse ones. Either way, 2 paid qualified nondaddy coaches are necessary for Legacy, or the Geese will find it difficult to replace players who leave with quality talented players. And thats just the facts. So if u stay then you need to get together and have a real talk with the organization before tryouts. Daddy coaches comin to Geese..real soon...with two more mighty mights for the roster

Unhealthy over analyzed addiction to your sons 11 year old team. What an embarrassment. Whomever wrote this needs to apologize to her family, friends and parents of Legacy players. Leave the team and start over for your family and the benefit of the community.

There are lots of great coaches that are dads all over travel lacrosse. Most of the time they are super invested in the team. Let's all move on. All three of these teams (Legacy, Express, 91) all have talent and all have some issues. Every team you go to no matter how good is going to have someone who is always unhappy. it is just the nature of the beast. I wish all the boys the best of luck with tryouts and I hope they all land is the best spot for them.

Probably only going to be 3 powerhouses - 91, Express and Igloo. Unless Rebels can do what they say they are doing. Heard legacy kids flocking to the Rebels, so they would be depleted, and Ducks are losing top players to 91 or Express, and that team was already only marginal. But who really knows, half the rumors never pan out.

I have to say, not being a 91 parent, the 3 day evaluation camp is an interesting move. The worst case is kids get 3 days of lax camp. I actually think people will send their kids just for the camp. One thing I would like to see is clubs consider is completing their invites for each top team and sending out a 2nd set of call backs for the other teams. The rationale is that some kids just go to tryouts to make the top team and reject the 2nd team invite.

Igloo is not in the same class as Express or 91. They are barely an "A" level team and certainly not elite. Haven't even come close to beating anyone at the top.

[quote=LaxFacts]I have to say, not being a 91 parent, the 3 day evaluation camp is an interesting move. [/quo
I like the 3 day camp concept, for the money they are charging, its a fair deal. Also did anyone hear about one of the 91 older team coaches splitting and starting their own club or is it just another rumor I was told on the train. or is 91 adding another club to their portfolio.

United coach. Saw the tryout flier and that's all I know. Rumor is the Ducks are breaking off from 91 as their admin and geographically this could be the replacement solution. But just spitballing hut makes sense. United hates being classified B team.

Who is the best team this summer?
Here are the best tournament winners so far: NLF Super Series - LI Express North American Lax Summer Invitational - Hawks Young Guns - Big 4HHH Millon Championship - LI Express Naptown - Hawks NLF Club - ??
91 beat Express at Lax Clash (the Express Tournament!) in OT. Does the Hawks club go to the NLF events? If they do, it seems like the winner of the last event with all the winners of the "Majors" there can claim the award. The winner will have the momentum as the teams get set for tryouts.

Does it make a difference. 91 showed they are a top team at this age and Express remained one. And thesee two really separated themselves on LI. 91 should be able to put together a decent 2nd team and Express will try two A teams. BUT for it to work in my opinion the coaching has to be 100% separate (somebody over the age of 35). I would have no problem moving my kid to a decent 2nd team, if he is struggling to see the field and it was separate.

Really only 2 at the top. 91 and Express, everyone else scrambling to stay close. Nobody else on LI will beat them.

Don't be surprised of these teams start to have AA, A and B teams per grade as they try to keep the influx of kids from these programs that are less than spectacular or doing down the drain like Legacy We've all heard the speeches...We are the anti-travel program, is all about kids, development first, 1 tem per grade. Than bam, 70 kids try out and the are 2 teams at every grade. If they would all just admit upfront it's a business and playing the better kids = wins=dollars. Find a small program, close to home, good friends, decent coaching and realize it's about what YOUR kid wants not you.

hold on to your red cups because the 2006 birthdays currently playing 2024 are coming down. whichever club gets majority of those boys is the team to beat.

Bunch of nonsense.
