Legacy is a 2nd tier team below Jesters in the LI team rankings

Also...ALL "tryouts" have a Significant level of predetermination (including JV & Varsity & Team USA) as it is a players body of work over a season or two or three that has already given everyone (coaches & parents) a clear indication of what the player can truly do in all situations. To think that what a player does for a hour Should give them the "chance"
to make the A team for any club is absurd! Anyone can look good or bad for that fleeting moment. It's either truly nieve or faux nievity to clammer for a FAIR tryout so the true, loyal B player can have that shot. The better players will find their way to the top team for any club, it just might take a little more time to be seen.

Appreciate your faith in the sysem...but who judged these girls to be A team material. The obvious daddy coaches? I mean seriously. And he gets to bring over his team? new coaches daughter...and others (9 maybe not 10)? That is BS. REAL BS! Yes there is a predetermination but when and how? Like to see how this turns out..but it seems YJ has no loyalty to their players...who are just as good or better than outsiders. They continue to cut off their nose despite their face...

For all intensive purposes this is correct!

I've seen the MS girls play Green Hornets 3x and get beat badly. Those girls are no way an answer to the YJ troubles.

Nope they are most certainly not the answer! But there you have it your new YJ A team! They didn't have to earn their way like everyone else, what tournaments did they play in? MD? Have they played top level teams? ...They can probably bring a book to try outs because they won't have to do anything at tryouts like the rest of the A team. Congratulations!
Any person that has attended a Y.J. tryout will not shed a tear for any "Blue" team member. For years the "tryout" has been stacked against any player not already on the "blue" team, I have attended every major clubs tryout (I don't include Igloo because they are not a major club in my mind, In my experience they will most likely be gone or irrelevant in the next 2 to 3 years like every other boy first girl second club) and the Y.J is by far the most bias. Blue girls what there blue pinie, gold wears gold, , what a sham. All rosters are made months beforehand with shady backroom deals, and you now want to cry because that same system that you once benefited from has now turned on you, Sorry afraid not, now you know how everyone els feels

yikes I would not want to be one of the newbies! They are going to have to be infallible ..the critics are going to be harsh! Again whole thing is a sham...Its who you are connected with this age group in particular. Team 91 has the connections and are now top dog...

Isn't the new 91 coach from Wantagh? How is it that this can guy couldn't get any wantagh/TG girls to come play at YJ? Instead he gets 91 MS girls who would be coming over to YJ anyway.

Connections or not, the new girls will not play much because they are not at the same level as the elite girls in the age group. 91 has never entered a competitive tournament and was only average in the lame tournaments they did play in. At this age, the best girls are separating themselves. YJ was already in trouble here. Most of the team was too small, slow, bad shooters, and lacking in IQ. Didn't help that the coaches put too much faith in girls who couldn't get the job done when the competition was tough. Yes, they gained a great goalie, but so did TG in the great goalie who left, which was an area TG stood to benefit from. YJ will have a tough time doing anything different than last year. They needed to pick up a couple of beasts, and they did not. As for the second team. Do not do it. you will regret it. Way better off on a Legacy, Jesters, or Liberty where you can be valued and grow. The original Gold girls are disgusted and fed up!

You sound like such a loser . I don't even know the age group but you come across like such a know it all who knows nothing . When you start saying 12 year olds are lacking IQ it's hillarious ,get a clue .If the YJ team is as bad as you describe and the games with TG were as close as I have read about than your TG team must be pathetic with essentially no exceptional players including your own poor kid.

Wright valued the girls. She strived to have a positive experience for all the girls.. she is a great coach and tries to develop the players...some gold were fed up becuase they watch the so called A team be in lesser brackets in these major tournaments...they were also fed up because YJ continuoulsy looked past the talent on that team. There were girls that could have moved up and never did...thats why w they left

Do your own research, it's not hard. Not here to promote clubs. But 1 practice a week, all star express, 3 teams or 30 kids on a team does not sound desirable to situation for anyone.

Legacy is just fine. The girls are being well trained by a coach that cares. The girls are happy and improving, which is what it's about. I believe a few girls also went to TG and are scoring plenty of goals against YJ. If YJ valued those girls and retained them, they wouldn't be in the trouble they're in now.

Lack of IQ is a big reason why YJ is losing games. There are only a few girls on that team that understand the game.

Lack of coaching IQ. She puts in absolutely ZERO effort. Her assistants lack of experience is evident also. You can't even blame the kids because they haven't been taught anything in the last 3 years.

YJ is definitely not what is used to be!!!! ALL the clubs are the same they are a business and only care about one thing ! making any team is not a big deal anymore because we all realize if you pay they will take you!!! talent or not!!

This is absolutely the truth .... its a business. Doesn't matter what team your on you pay you play unless your on blue...then you pay to ride the bench!

YES!! A shame. My daughter has made no progress in Years and it is evident when we play other top teams that the girls are better coached with a plan that leads to a win. Getting very frustrated.

Yeah....He cares!?!?...... He cares if your check clears or not. Isn't Legacy a PAL team? I've never see them at any of the tournaments with the Big Dog programs. Do they challenge themselves against the MD, NJ, PA, DC competition? If they don't, what are the parents paying for?

Yeah, that is a good test. Best of luck. Any team stepping on the field against that team will need it, no matter what LI jersey you wear.
Monday you can decide how much trash you can talk until the next meeting of those teams.

Awesome to see Legacy putting themselves out there. That is how you build a team. Win or lose they will see where they fall and learn and improve. Way to go! My daughter is not on Legacy, but did play with many of those girls on YJ a couple years ago. They are great players who will only get better!

They are "good" to "very good" players..not "Great". As the Legacy poster put it... they are "Just" "fine". Not "Great". Legacy beating Blue is a Haha joke. Adding more B players to a C level team, you get closer to being a B team. Congrats on stepping it up to play in a real tournament against big dogs. While they are taking these Fall tournaments Very seriously with extra pratices, YJ will be a pick up team for those who want to play. It's relaxed Fall ball. If you are now going to criticize that not taking it seriously in October is a flaw in the YJ way...have at it. There is life outside of lacrosse.

Legacy is a PAL team of the angry, disfunctional BBP parents. Without their best player they would not even beat Mt. Sinai, MC or Wantagh Town teams. We've played them many times and while very good, not an A travel team by any measure.

This whole forum is made up of parents who were athletes that never accomplished anything when they were young or never played a sport. If you did, you would never bash anyone else, especially kids and their abilities because we learned that "respect" was a huge part of being successful. Who cares who is better. Let the kids play and if they are on a team that they enjoy, have fun.

Legacy is just fine. It's YJB who is in big trouble. Despite all the private lessons, the girls are still not anywhere near where they need to be to beat the better teams in the age group.

You can always spot the newbies, its fall lacrosse it means little win or lose . That sais the MD teams have the advantage more so in the fall when playing in their own back yards. Kids that play soccer or volleyball or field hockey on LI are likely no shows .

Relaxed Fall ball? Is that why Thorn is coaching? Its another tryout Thorn saw the girls in small sided scrimmages last week, this week its full field against a great Maryland team.
Don't think these games don't matter. Evaluating players is an ongoing process.

You seem to know a lot about who is playing on a team you are not affiliated with. This is where everyone says: "pathetic. Get a life".
I wouldn't have a clue who is playing on other travel teams nor would I care.
