[quote=Anonymous]Are there any A teams in the Havic tournament or just B and town teams? That's not 9D1s A team is it? It is their second team. Oh really? You heard he plays for express 22? You started your whining stating that he was the MVP of World Series... ding bat. You don't think he's going to play for his mother's team?

Lax-God forbid that the boy plays with two teams. Some kids run with Dukes Nationals too, is that a sin? What about those that play town and club, is that a no no? Just let the players go and compete.

Also love to see that the holdback train is full steam ahead for the Express North team. They can't compete on age so they hold them back. Great life lessons being taught there. Well done parents.

91 Florida AKA USPA Titans lacrosse! Lol! Titans have never been know for being classy! That kid always plays for that team (and any other team, even 2023’s). The mom is a real piece of work. This is nothing new. Even still, that team is not good. The kid in question has never passed the ball, so [lacrosse] him down and the game is over.

91 Florida played 2022 bracket with a team made up of mostly 2024's and 2023's. Not good? Unless your son played on Express North, then you have nothing to say. The kids helmets were waist high on the ENTIRE Express North Team and the Briarcliff aka PrimeTime squad.

I don't know why they wouldn't just make the ECC and NE10 divisions and shuffle them to A and AA. If I was setting up a competitive tourney I would maybe consider Three Village, Express Saracino, Hitmen and Schwalje should be in their own bracket. And the 6 AA be the other. But that's just me being pragmatic.

Why would they want to play those teams?just to say their playing the best teams in that age group? Doesn't do any good for the coaches or the kids.. What kid or coach wants to get beat 15-1 What do u learn from that? The only teams that can hang with the top teams are those top teams..

This nonsense exists here on Long Island only. Adults calling kids names and d*ck measuring night after night. 1700+ viewing this forum right now at midnight. No life? No job? Just fight about kiddy sports all day? My team is better than your team. You don't play lax, your kids do and they would disown you as parents if they put the keystroke logger on your phone instead of the other way around. Congratulations for ruining this sport for everyone. Congratulations on alienating families whose kids wear a different uniform than your kid. Even worse, for alienating team members because their kid out works your kid. It's all nonsense. Anyone with a life laughs at you people.

Considering the over involvement of LI lax parents and the level of that on display on these boards day in, day out, is it really surprising to anyone that this is necessary sometimes?!

That's a ridiculous statement..as a coach you want to go into a game you know you can't win, have the boys get defeated all to show the parents that there not good enough?? ..hmm..how about playing challenging games against teams that are within your skill level..that 15-2 game isn't helping either team..here's a good idea: stay in your lane..
In absence of any other context, maybe. But, if you've got parents that think their boys are way better than they really are, and you have been dealing with that for a while to no avail, the above approach sometimes is the only thing that gets the point through! Considering the over involvement of LI lax parents and the level of that on display on these boards day in, day out, is it really surprising to anyone that this is necessary sometimes?! "Stay in your lane" - really - are you THAT afraid that your son might lose to one of these teams that you think doesn't belong? Or let me guess, your son's team didn't make the playoffs in a fall tournament because all the other teams in his division team blew out the "team that didn't belong" and your son's team had a tough schedule - is that it? Get a grip, pal. What happens when the team that doesn't belong is crushing all the teams in the B division and they need to step up to face "real" competition -- like you said, "that 15-2 game isn't helping either team." Hopefully the tournament organizers do as good a job putting teams into the divisions that they belong in -- and if you keep going to tournaments where the host gets a ridiculously easy schedule compared to everyone else, either suck it up or tell your organization that you don't want to go back to that tournament. There are hundreds of tournaments each year within a five hour drive from Long Island and I'm sure you can find one that fits your the talent level of your son's team that doesn't give the organizers three games against B- teams while you have to play AA (or AAA if you're from Maryland) teams.

Play competition to prove a point? I understand one side of it, but means don't and never will justify the ends. So I respectfully disagree. Try being the best at one level for a season, show off your success and build towards taking the next step. I can tell from where I sit, its not good business and you'll never attract talent by getting blown out. Those brackets this weekend are so poorly configured, I don't blame Blatant, because I am sure teams asked to be in the top bracket? That just removed an opportunity for the next tier of teams to face off and win at appropriate level. Sadly, it could have worked out. Accept the landscape has changed and they'll never be a single tier team like Crush. The lax scene has exploded and there is now a legitimate number of elite teams on LI and we know who they are. The newest one is Igloo B and it took two full years to develop. If you are not one of these 5 or 6 teams you shouldn't play them until you beat everyone below them, especially to prove a point. This is my opinion and I like I said I understand it a bit, but strongly disagree.

Getting blown out in one tournament, a fall tournament no less, will have zero impact on the team/players/parents if it is a one-time thing, done to make a point or otherwise. That was what the OP stated - it was done to make a point.

You people are crazy, your either complaining that teams need to stop playing B and step up and play A or now what are you saying how dare you play "A" when your a "B" team. My belief is worry about your own team not what a so called B team is doing. Maybe the other 16 kids on Channy AA will be able to get in the game against one of the so called B teams. Also maybe some players at the bottom of AA rosters will notice that one of the so called B teams is not that bad and think about coming to try out the following season. Could bring the pack close together.

Try communicating honestly with parents, if they disagree they are free to explore the 50 other teams on LI.
