Sorry your boy didn't get selected to the ATT team. Little secret....Everyone but you thinks he's overrated....

Interesting that the only kid who did anything in about that game was a holdback! Rest of the team? Meh

That kid is not holdback. Sorry to disappoint

Sort of interesting that every other ATT player was selected based upon stats except the goalie. Stat leaders are stat leaders.....you can't argue with the numbers. Maybe your son should switch to attack since he seems to insist on running the full length of the filed and shooting.

You're so unbelievably full of it. That's just not true. There was ONE kid on the team that is seventeen. Others have turned sixteen in the past few months but don't drive themselves anywhere yet. If you'd like to better understand the school system Birthday cut-off points that exist in Baltimore (even for public schools) you should probably do some research. Aside from that there were sooooooooo many hold backs (as previously discussed on this forum) on several teams in the Command division this year. These boys are in high school now and it's time folks stop whining about hold backs.

And thats why we should be praising those on age, those who are older should be dominating. 17 year old in Command others have turned 16 come on, that is a shame

17 years old in the 9th grade. Repeat that a few times and let it sink in. There are Seniors in HS in MD that are 17 years old. If you can't compete - just repeat a grade or two then you look like a stud.

When you are playing in HS that's one thing - when you are in a grade based tournament and are 17 in the 9th grade grow some balls and play up.

Gonna PG a year too - right?

Not sure who you are referencing but my son is a goalie that played in the tourney and if I had a vote I would've said the Philly goalie that won ATT deserved it.

That's embarrassing. There are kids who start college before turning 18. Any 2000 birth year who just finished 9th grade should be playing with the 10th graders. Even a kid with a Dec 31, 2000 birthday.

Lax should have a birthday cutoff that provides some slack for different states but stops this kind of nonsense. August 1 would seem to work. But it might take a successful lawsuit by a player seriously injured by a much older player to make it happen.

I like the Aug. 1 cut off because it should keep it grade based for high school and beyond for most of the country.

That is pathetic. My 2020 just turned 15 and my 2018 just turned 17. Kudos to all the on age kids who are working even harder to stand out because they compete against kids gaming the system - in the long run the on age kids will be better for it.

Please don't drag maryland public school kids down into your deceit. Any kid in Maryland following school guidelines would still be 15 until 9/1 which is the Maryland State guidelines. What the MIAA schools have done is ridiculous - they claim they are the best but forget about that they are 1-2 years older. Congratulations to any UA team that played without holdbacks. The UA Baltimore team was a joke between the FCA And Calvert Hall kids . 8-10 on a team! As if there are not other more talented kids in the area-MIAA or otherwise.

We've already established the FACT that numerous UA Command teams had hold backs this year so please spare us the self righteousness.

If UA was a legitimate event, it would go by birth year, esspecially for the Command division. It's supposed to be for the younger kids but the cheating hold backs have spoiled that the way they have everything else. They would have disappeared playing in the Highlight division where they belong. A shame.

NXT, Freedom, and possibly HHH would beat the Philly UA command team. Kids on there because they attend certain high schools or play for certain bad club teams.(rough riders)
Lefty attack scored three straight times in play back game and is headed to PSU did not make cut. Righty attack who can't catch or through did make cut. FO kid won 90% in tryout did not make it.

And that makes it okay? Feel sorry for your kid when you both wake up and realize that you can't "fix" everything for him. You just don't get it.

Your verbal commit in the 8th grade may make you feel warm and fuzzy - but it's not much more than a non binding contract that is not worth the paper it's printed on. If you think you son's potential college coach is going to come see your kid play in high school in the middle of college lacrosse season instead of going to a summer club tournament where he can watch his recruits AND check out multiple prospects you are sorely mistaken.

Not true in all cases. Club team is very important if you live in a weak district, have a poor HS team, etc. Then I agree you need to have a good club affiliation to get exposure. However, some of the big HS team coaches have long-standing relationships with college coaches and can do a lot to help a kid get recruited. If a kid plays for a top high school program the club team is no longer everthing. So, the importance of the club team is influenced heavily by your high school. The better the HS team, the less a kid needs club. Having said all that, most top HS players still play on a summer club team....and maybe more than one.

Must have been some card playing going on during the seeding meeting. Some nice leap-frogging for LIE.

Igloo, fl$ and Express fell apart. Not good teams, especially for all the money and hype.

They went 0-2, whatcha talking 'bout Willis?

What is going on at NXT, usually their teams have a cake walk to the playoffs in their tournaments. Which is expected, considering they set them up. However, the schedule for their tournament next weekend has been announced and they have Looneys in their pool and only the top team in the pool makes the playoffs. Very surprised they would set it up that way. Not to mention the fact that they don't even start play until 3:30, that has to be the worst possible schedule for a late summer tournament. What are they thinking?

They were up over FCA with 5 minutes left. Then 3 straight penalty calls against them that helped FCA come back.
