you insult his inability to write, yet you do not know the difference between "your" and "you're"?

FYI, the correct spelling is "the $$ YOU'RE spending on lax".

It never gets old when the village idiot tries ranking on the grammar idiot only to say "the" instead of "they" during the ranking! Hahahahahahahaha.......Very entertaining!

I've heard mixed opinions as to whether you have to have your daughter play on yellow jackets in order to play northport high school. What say ye?

Do not believe the haters, if your daughter is good enough to help the Northport team win games she will play regardless of what she does in the summer. Of course most of the better Northport players do play YJ but why woudnt they.

Not one person has EVER come on this website or any other and named one girl who has played Northport Varsity lacrosse and was able to play for another team besides the YJ's. Not one. Northport is not the only school where girls are "pressured" or it is "highly suggested" you should play on the YJ's when their varsity coach is also a YJ coach. Too much pressure and conflict of interest.

For the Nth teenth time, all these school districts should be made to ban the coaches they hire from profiting on the same sport outside of school. It creates very very bad situations for kids to play under, this shoould be an issue to come down from the top, the state should ban this from happening. This isn't a bash on CR individually as this is a problem in many sports/schools.

Have you looked at the thread about conflicts of interest/summer tournament teams run by HS coaches? Also a situation that isn't quite right. Go check it out.

Yes, thanks. I think I posted same sentiment on that thread. Like I said it is a huge problem at many schools/sports not just northport.

and express is st. anthony & chaminade and there's CGI baseball and aau basketball and on and on - there's an entire thread dedicated to this, it's wrong at every level, but it's not changing anytime soon unless enough pressure is put on the AD's of these schools - kids as young as 10 years old are being told to play for the club because the varsity coach at thier hs is a yj coach

Not one.It must be the case because I also capitalized ever. Stop acting as if you have any clue as to what goes on at Northport other than the wash woman rumors you like to spread.

Manhasset has, and still, has players that play for other clubs. Like her or not, coach Gallagher is one of the best ,and most respected in the sport as is coach Rose. But in all fairness I have no knowlege of a North Port player playing for another club. Thats not saying there are ,or not threats, vocally or or unspoken. What I do think is that if coach Chapman decides to start a G.C. travel team it will be Y.J. that gets hurt seeing as they have the lion share of G.C. girls.

This would be an excellent idea. Also, congratulations to all of the 2013/2014 girls on their commitments posted here on the website.

I am not familiar with her and your thoughts that she may branch out. You are putting sticks in the fire hoping she starts something. Why? Who is she? Your thinking she should start up a club with teams of all age groups? As I said I am not familiar with her, where she is from or how she fits in the lax community, all I can say is anyone offering other quality options for girls to play should be welcomed.

So I guess you guys are on the opposite side of the high school coaches should not have pay to play organizations or are you just top gun parents who would love anything that may have a negative impact on YJ.Either way you seem a little desperate.

What could be more negative than having 4-5 "elite" teams per age group and rosters of 25-28 kids (you've run out of numbers for most age groups!), hopefully carol can complete the sale of yj before the entire thing collapses under its own weight. The only desperate people I see are the ones playing on all these teams that can't possible compete, but then again there will be enough teams to play each other all summer long! Fear the bee!

Coach Chapman is from Garden City and has, without question, the best girls lacrosse program on Long Island, and is in the , if not the best coach in New [lacrosse] if not the country. Any person saying that any other person is desperate is a fool. Almost any girl would love to play under the truly , most successful coach in N.Y. including every Y.J. player and every North Port player. Every player wants to win and she proves that she can every year.

Seriously you guys are pathetic .Yes you all seem to desperately hate the YJ club, not sure why .I hope all the long island clubs do well and think the people like yourselves who stir the pot in hopes that a well respected coach will join in your pathetic hatred of the most successful girls lacrosse club in the nation is comical.Go back to your TG team and hope your child can someday play for Hofstra where the other athletes can steal your electronics too.

Dude, seems to me you're bringing the hate. All I saw was people appreciating some coach from GC. How is that bashing the YJ? And why bring TG into it?

Your attempt to turn this into a TG vs YJ argument is what is desperate to be honest. She is a legendary coach with an incredible track record and possibly that is why folks want to see her have her own club.

Now we see where some of the girls get their attitudes from. This poster, if an adult, should be banned from procreating until the proper parenting courses are completed. And by the way...there are more than TG parents posting here. You shouldn't minimize the disgust all clubs have for posters like you.

This is the first statement I see about Chapman starting her own club and of course they bring yj into the discussion. If you do not think that many of you YJ haters only want her to start her own club for any other reason besides shrinking the YJ talent pool is naive. She sounds like a fantastic coach and possibly has not started her own club for the exact reasons so many of you go after the other coaches in that she does not want her reputation to be questioned with the pay to play club.

Last night at Indoor League in Brentwood, my daughter's team played the Northport 2 team. One girl on the Northport team had on a Northport pinney. Every other girl had on YJ full uniforms. You are not allowed to play for another program if you want to play for Northport.

Just let the girls play and shaddup already. This thread is supposed to be for sharing YJ information and supporting the development of our players. If you don't like YJ or how its run,go somewhere else--there's plenty of options. Just stop cluttering up the thread with whining.

What I do think is that if coach Chapman decides to start a G.C. travel team it will be Y.J. that gets hurt seeing as they have the lion share of G.C. girls.

Who cares...

It would seem to me that one girl doesn't play with yellow jackets. Only ones who should be complaining about this issue, if it is true, are Northport parents and that doesn't appear to be you.

I didn't see the poster as complaining, just sharing an observation.

I have a question. At what age group does talent win out over favoritism toward a lesser talented kid who has connections? Will it ever? Please be respectful just curious. Open to any travel club cause i'm sure it gous on all over. Thanks in advance.

We will offer you some personal observations on this topic albeit from a long term club/elite level coaching experience.

Up until our girls team was a U/12 squad, we kept the group together as a largely town entity. When the team was U/13, an interesting twist had taken place. About half of the team was a premier caliber group and about half the team was a solid, albeit not terribly committed, club (town) team.

During the transition from U/13 to U/14, our coaching staff needed to make the decision as to whether to follow the town approach (and lose the upper half of the team to other top level programs) or move into the premier ranks and make some serious roster changes at our next tryouts.

Based on the fact that the coaches chose to move down the premier league path, some serious cuts were made after the U/13 season and those roster positions were filled with other, and yes, better, players.

We arranged for every cut player to play with our "B" team or if that was not their desired path of action, we made calls to their desired club (since we knew most of the other coaches involved).

Long story for a short answer : the transition takes place in that U/13 to U/14 season.
