Okay, but poultry? Really what does a chicken have to do with lacrosse ? I'm not from NP, but you seem a tad bitter my friend.

I'd be bitter too if I lived in the slums of Centereach/Selden and my kid was in a crappy school district.

hmm, didn't know that, do they have a chicken problem as well? Pretty funny that a guy who makes that post calls others childish.

Seeing as paltry and poultry are very close I'd assume a spell check issue

I don't think the response to a grown up typing hahahah over and over again is nearly as childish

It does bring up a lot of good points

How childish and obnoxious are you for calling Centereach/Selden a slum and MC a bad school district.

Calling someplace a slum is not childish if its true. What good points were written? If it's a spell check issue, then spell check. The poster writes like a drunken moron, that's all.

Assuming the poster is using a regular keyboard the A and the OU are NOWHERE near each other. The poster thought the proper term was POULTRY (domestic fowl, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese), not PALTRY (small or meager) which is really sad. The poster has no idea what the difference is. Point two: two wrongs don't make a right (wright). Point three: It? It was a fictional character in a Stephen King Novel, so unless he wrote the post, I don't get it. Point four: Never been to Centereach or Selden, but over 6% of the population lives below the poverty line so it is a rather low income neighborhood. Only the Facts Please!

I think it's harder for the teams Northport beat as a #5 seed to get to the finals. Middle Country was by far the better team yesterday but Northport did beat teams to get to that final. That's the way it goes.

Kenzie Kent is the best player in the country. She is also an amazing hockey player. It is somewhat wrong to call her number one sport growing up hockey, although now in college it is. Growing up she played plenty of lacrosse and did play club etc. And yes, she played for Mass Elite. A Massachusetts kid. A lot of bashing has happened on here about Mass Elite and Massachusetts players. She is the best recent example of some great players that are coming out of the New England area. Congrats to her and a gutsy effort by the BC team. One of the best performances ever in the NCAA finals and it's her "2nd" sport. Wow!

Not from your town, but know of the three in question, and everyone of them extremely talented, part of a very talented group of 8th graders. You also have a pretty good group of 9th graders as well. I hear all the nightmares from ESM parents from my sons sports and my daughters sports (sometimes just overhearing them [lacrosse] and complain to other ESm parents). a whole bunch of crazy rules implemented by your asz backwards BOE... MS girls can't play JV but can play Varsity, but only if its Tuesday of a leap year, except if it's basketball then they can play JV on Wednesdays, but no other sports, except for wrestling if your last name starts with a B.... and so on... How about instead let the head coach make the decisions for the program, short term and long term (and also not discriminating against her because of perceived sexuality as well) It's the coaches program, and they/she has to live with the end result no matter what the sport. Sounds like your entire system is corrupt in ESM. So start by getting rid of your Board of Ed and letting people do their jobs, and stop all your crying. Suzy can play, just may be on JV or MS until she gets her shot, you have a great program with great players, many great players at great programs have to wait their turn. You want her to play sooner move to a weaker lacrosse town and she probably could play 5-6 years on Varsity. Congrats on your championship.

US Lacrosse posted a Girls Rules Survey on twitter. Please take a moment to complete it.

In youth lacrosse, they are considering limiting the draw to beginning of first and second halves only. After goals, the defensive team would get possession at the goal line extended. Similar to football, basketball, and soccer where the scored upon team gets the ball back. IMO, would improve player development by getting more players involved and make games more exciting to watch.

What's your opinion?

While I was not. At the game and can not comment on the 8th grade brought up -
Here is my advice - don't worry about it your kid will get get shot
She needs to make the best of the time she gets 1-2-3-4 years
What ever the case may be
Best of luck in the future
As far as the wrestler with the last name beginning with B
Adam is ine of of the elite wrestlers in the country
He was at a level in 7th grade that most don't even scratch as a senior
He was a HS state finalist and I believe a super 32 champ
That event attracts wrestlers from across the country with brackets exceeding 100 wrestlers per weight class
Him being anywhere but varsity would have been a utter waste of time

I would think the LI B and C matchups should be good games with the edge to GC over ESM in B and MS over Wan in C.
As for A and D, no matter who wins in Nassau today, the edge goes to MC and Matt but then again, I am a Suffolk county guy.

And the unfortunate thing is that GC vs ESM and Wantagh vs MTS should both be the state finals IMO. Getting off LI is so difficult. I have GC over ESM in a close one and MTS should beat Wantagh by a decent margin. Good luck to all the teams

You apparently didn't go to many games in Nassau or check many scores. See the scores of the games Pequa Syo and Port played against both of them. Better yes but Not close is a stretch my friend.

Please, Please, please do away with the draw. They used to have a tip off after every score in basketball, could you imagine? Kills the game, but what kills the game even worse is watching your draw "specialist" lose 90% of the draws and you have to sit through a game with near zero possession, and lose to teams solely because so much rides on one fine tuned skill. Would much rather see the teams overall skill set of all they girls weigh more heavily than winning or losing because one single girl is either good or bad at one single thing. Please kill the draw!

That has been tossed around the last couple of years. The draw is such an important part of the game, especially moving on to the collegiate level, that it would be a disservice to the athlete. It comes from the thought of a "fair" competition (i.e.,let the losing team get the ball) but ultimately I think it would be bad.

The point being made is that the coaches should be the ones to dictate the needs of their programs versus an AD that is in WAY OVER HIS HEAD (Only accomplishment on his part is being a member of the all boys club along with the assist principle and dean - since they all hang out in BM's office)... The only two sports he gives a crap about are Football and Wrestling and he only care about wrestling because the coach takes zero crap from BM and leverages the BOE to muscle BM into making wrestling exempt from these stupid rules. The best players should play at a level complementary to their skills, but for a clueless AD to make that decision from his office (Since the only events he attends are football games - and then he has to cart his lazy rump around via golf cart) is crazy. Empower the coaches to do their jobs an build the programs as they see fit. I understand that those three players have talent, but to sit on the bench for varsity is doing NOTHING for their development, but as the rule states, they cannot play JV (where there would have played and improved along with several other 8th grade kids). This all goes back to an incompetent AD that the new superintendent must quickly fire...

I see your point, but can you imagine the AD telling the BOE he lets the coaches run the programs? Who will be held responsible when something bad happens? AD's are hired to manage the department. Much like principals are hired to run schools. My gut feeling is things would fall apart very quickly if you let coaches run the program autonomously. Just my opinion.

There are numerous sports that award the ball to the defensive team after a score. Would speed up the game, cut down on injuries and even the playing field a little.

I believe they need to have an oversight into the programs. but to blindly support some teams and penalize others without a clue is worse. He was the one who imposed an idea that went against input from coaches and parents alike, omitting certain sports. Now he is offering waivers for 'friends' so that their kids do not have to live by the dumb rule he implemented in the first place. the rule either applies to everyone blindly, or you need to re-visit the spirit of the rule.

Let's blame it on the coaching.

More than likely you are a snake who should just slither back under your rock but instead you are either trying to stir the pot or you are insinuating that it is all on the players. In any event, here is a high level view of the coaching track record. Not enough time to go into the details but this should paint a pretty clear picture for you.

..WM... Vs.. Opponent .........................Regular Season .......................Playoffs

2011 Vs William Floyd ......................... W 11 - 7 .................................. L 10 - 9

2012 Vs Bayshore ............................... W 10 - 8 .................................. L 11 - 5

2013 Vs Bayshore ............................... W 11 - 10 ................................ L 16 - 8

2014 Vs West Babylon ........................ W 17 - 4 ................................... L 17 - 10

2015 Vs Northport ................................ L 13 - 12 .................................. L 10 - 6

2016 Vs Northport ................................ L 8 - 6 ...................................... L 11 - 10

2017 Vs Northport ............................... W 13 - 6 .................................... L 8 - 7

Agree, snake in the grass.

Record speaks for itself and does paint a very clear picture.

The Athletic Placement Process(APP) is posted on the ESM website for all to see. In order to be eligible to even try out for varsity, you need to meet certain criteria. One of them is the LIKELYHOOD that the athlete would play at least 50% of the games. It does not say that they must play 50% of the game.

Absolutely.

It's a joke.

Get rid of it.

It looks very likely US Lax will get rid of the draw. This thinking certainly has gained much momentum the last couple of years. The survey they are asking all coaches and administrators if this is a well accepted idea, so it is definitely their major proposal for rule changes coming up. That along with asking about how well received are the other recent rules that were adopted, but it does look like this is coming, thank god.

Is part of the academic requirement that they spell likelihood correctly?

Three relatively close games with the winners being MC, GC, and MS and one blowout

The only close game will be GC-ESM. The Nassau D champ is 4-8 on the season

Get rid of it the game would be fast paced and more exciting without the draw more like basketball.
