I wonder if LI went to an age based system who would be the top team at this age. Express- no way 1/4 of their team would be playing with 8th graders. Igloo, same deal. 91-same deal. Just wondering Hello... they all just played in an age based system on a weekend about month ago. One semi final game went to OT and Igloo won it. All competitive close games, which is the case when the teams play grade based. Everyone gets so obsessed over the holdback issue, give it rest. If it is within in the rules, that is it, no further discussion needed. And if you think a team is not following the rules, go to the tournament director and lodge a complaint. Coming on here and calling a team cheaters is a waste.

Duke's National shows up in Boston playing 2022 with a full team of 15 year olds. Lost to Express 6-5. Imagine if they showed up with 7th graders? Ha ha, Dukes Nationals...you still dragging your kid all over the country to play lacrosse? The middle school and travel isn't enough at this age? You say "he loves it, he asks me if he can play more" he would prefer to be at the beach, trust me. You say "he is with his friends from lacrosse". He would prefer to be with his friends from school face timing girls from his grade. Has nothing to do with the kids, just the dads...just saying. And I think you're the dad that is still bitter that his kid was not asked to be a part of the team. You know who you are. Just saying....

Reality check: express is playing with quite a few holdbacks too. Don't deny it. Not Let's not forget about the guest players that don't live in New [lacrosse] state anymore but keep reappearing at tournaments . And let's not forget about your ever-changing roster which is growing like a cancer. You people are all in such denial. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I would be embarrassed to be a part of your organization.

Express looked good playing against Dukes this past weekend. They played well as a team. But a roster of 30 plus kids don't know how many got to play. Dukes had the more talented team but do not play well as a team. I think the kids on Dukes team are trying to prove they are the best players on the field. Don't know if the Dukes model is working.

I think you're correct. The Duke model may be more of a Showcase type of organization than a team.

Son has been asked to get in the faceoff X a bit more. Can anyone recommend a head that is widely used for good faceoff work but can handle being a middie who plays more then FOGO? Thank you.

Don't have a view on the Duel, but the CEO is a head that fits the bill of being both a good offensive head and faceoff head.

Igloo aspen extreme are more of an A team then the outlaws for sure. Oulawas parent trying to get something going again, nothing doing guy...both are B+ teams, difference is Igloo is fine with that and Outlaws can't accept it. outlaws so much wanted to be grouped with igloo A, express etc. sorry What happened to the Outlaws this weekend? I think reality is smacking them right in the face! You will see them disappear off the circuit again so they can go play B teams in Connecticut and Pennsylvania so they can get some t-shirts!

Express 22 is going to WSYL. All players have submitted birth certificates. Explain the holdback theory. Coach P (from Hopkins) twins are 2021's, playing down on 2022. Deny that? Their bios are all over the internet.

How about the panda??? Hold back. He's not going to wsyl. Without him you're an ordinary team. That's why 91 beat you. That's why igloo and 91 will both beat you again. No fogo. Just admit some of your best players are older than most. No big deal. Every team has some. Don't act like you dont.

Only if you win 04 birthday .... the only thing that matters for an age based tournament. 6th,7th, 8th grade doesn't matter. Grade has zero, ZERO to do with anything. "Second try" has ZERO to do with anything. Honestly, I don't understand why this is so difficult to understand. The only determination is age, anything else that is mentioned means that you do not understand a very basic concept.

They will have to play 2022 their correct age and grade this summer and next year.

The Igloo WSYL is different from their Artic Blast team. Don't blame them, embrace the rules. And play to win Complete hypocrisy! Igloo and its owner wanted to take it to the Supreme Court last year when Legacy did it to them, with rising 9th grade players. AA decided to practice a different set of rules this year. It will be interesting to see how it impacts the team chemistry and program dynamics: take 8 boys from the 2021 team and deny 8 boys from the 2022 team, to form a special team for this tournament. Players and families make annual commitment to an elite lacrose club, sign-up, pay the full tuition, go to every practice and every tournament and are then alienated from their team by being replaced with older boys; because Igloo is embracing the rules or cheating the system. This should not at all be the spirit of youth sports or example that adults set for children. Why not compete as the team that you are? You better win, with two handfuls of 9th graders. Good luck! By the way, do the WSYL rules allow for players to participate in the tournament multiple times and consecutive years?

totally agree --- just wrong thing to do. ironic as igloo is the first team to cry "holdbacks" when they go against the maryland teams and play the big boys. respect to the programs that are competing in the world series with the players that are actually on the 2016/2017 team rosters.

I have sympathy for your disappointment but I think I disagree with your conclusion. I don't want to spend the time nor the money to go to Denver with anything except the best on-age players. I know it's hard and a little embarrassing that your player wasn't chosen but I don't think you get to do everything regardless of ability. The people going want the best chance to win the thing, and I also think that the boys are old enough to really face the realities of competition. Hopefully the decisions were merit based and not political.

You are a total moron. Every team at the qualifier had kids that are in 8th grade but are age appropriate according to the rules. People complain about playing with the Maryland "Big Boys"because when it's a "grade based"event Maryland has kids that are a year or 2 older than the typical 7th grader on Long Island. No such thing as a hold back on WSYL rosters which is why Maryland cant send some teams. Maryland cant compete with LI without using older kids...or "Big Boys" as you'd rather call them

That is competely false because the majority of teams participated in the WS qualifier as a true 2022 team and did not recruit or bring down 8th graders/soon to be rising 9th graders.
