Which LI teams do you know?
LI Express is good, Igloo as well, 91 22's are nothing special.
All the top teams are leveling off - kids leave and other teams kidshave played for 5 or 6 years and are catchingoing up. It happens
That is an accurate take on the LI teams. Another issue they are facing this spring is that they are preparing for the WSYL qualifier that has an age restriction. Some of the teams (91 in particular) are not using their top (holdback) players and that accelerates the catching up.

Would your team be better off without dad coaches and why? Don't name your club.

My son has had both. I will say that his team was much better off with the dad coach. He really cared about the kids and their families. He was dedicated to the team and gave it his full attention.

Would your team be better off without dad coaches and why? Don't name your club. I think it comes down to the skill level of the Dads kid. If the Dads kid is the best player or at least a clear cut starter things tend to go well. Its when the Dad is coaching to improve his sons spot on the team. Like if he should be the 5th attackman but plays 2 full quarters. Or the 7th middie but is in the game with 2min left and a 7-7 tie. The coach has to be smart enough to take his son out first the second the team is up by 5 or more goals or to yell at his son for talking first to send a clear message that my son is getting more heat not a free ride. He can explain this to his son in the car ride home but he needs to show the other boys he is fair.

Club teams that have Dad coaches at this age group are very qualified coaches that have found a lot of success in recent years. It is there job to be fair with all players including their own. Tough job yes, but I think for the most part the dads on the sidelines in club 2022 which there is a lot of do a great job and are fair. The practice field at this level usually tends to make things FAIR on its own and it's hard to hide from favoritism. Rec and other divisions might be easier to do. Coaches kids are also for the most part deserving of the playing time and again the the production at practice and games makes it hard for favoritism.
The dads coaching in the 2022 Elite , AA, A teams is pretty awesome

There are good coaches and bad coaches. Both tend to reproduce. Irrelevant whether or not a kid is on his Dad's team, unless you got one of the bad coaches. Good coaches know how to seamlessly coach through the situation.

The bigger issue at this age group is the lack of individual skill instruction.
Most of the coaching is focused on team based concepts which is important, however there should also be a huge focus on individual skills including the proper way to handle a stick, how to execute different dodges, shooting, feeding, finishing in tight, defensive fundamentals, etc...

I guess that depends on what club. My son's club has focused a great deal on individual skills over the last few months.

Most coaches sons that I know are pretty darned good players. The only bad coaches that my son has had were daddy coaches during one season of rec ball. My kid ditched that team (mid season) and went to a quality club team. (Dad coached)

HOCO league was great today. The hawks/blc game was great. Hawks win in OT.
Could not believe RR handed Madlax like they were nothing. Very impressed by RR
91 and FCA game was good. FCA is looks very flat.
No crabs game?

Just like the BS [lacrosse]'s tournament in Florida, this event is always 1-2 good teams and the rest are marginal ones. Not worth it unless you are dying to take a family trip to CO.
