Why is Duke tanking? One answer could be recruiting overrated "me only" prima-donnas. All coaches could learn something from U Conn coach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp4mIONS51E

why is Syracuse ranked so high they looked terrible. Wins against BC, UMass, and NW. All were Top 20 at the time the games were played. Plus a win against UVA who is currently ranked. If not them, who would you have in top 20?

Not buying the high ranks of USC or Elon. Not so sure about Colorado either. Colorado beat most impressively penn state not as impressively Northwestern. I'm buying The bottom five almost always come down to who didn't lose the worst Duke being in any top 20 poll is embarrassing We will see what Colorado is made of when they play Stony Brook this week. Clearly a huge game for both teams.

Do at least 30 seconds of a roster review, 3 LI girls on a team of 35. I think the opposite is true, not offering girls until after 9th grade year has many top LI girls already committed.

Interesting ranking poll from Sports Illustrated/Money magazine. It ranks the best colleges for sports lovers. The equations used is based on participation, fan experience, education and earnings potential after graduation (I guess that is where Money magazine comes in). Some may be surprised at the results.
1) Stanford 2) Notre Dame 3) Michigan 4) Duke 5) Virginia 6) North Carolina 7) Florida 8) Middlebury 9) Yale 10) Bowdoin 11) Dartmouth 12) UCLA 13) Rice 14) Maryland 15) Georgia 16) USC 17) UConn 18) Ohio St 19) Princeton 20) Texas 21) Clemson 22) Colgate 23) Lafayette 24) Boston College 25) Wisconsin
There is a lot of lacrosse programs in the top 25. Don't discount the D3 schools. There are plenty more in the next 75. There are also many lacrosse programs in there as well that may not make the top twenty in lacrosse but are great schools. For the vast majority of student athletes college is the last time they will play lacrosse. The education and opportunities after graduation is what counts. Here is the rest of the top 100.
26. University of Richmond 27. Amherst College 28. Providence College 29. Villanova University 30. Wake Forest University 31. Michigan State University 32. Harvard University 33. Bates College 34. I wonder how many yellow cards Onondaga got today, and how many times the refs had to stop the game and tell them to settle down and quit whining about EVERY call that went against them?

Not impressed this season at all. Bad lax at best Curious. What is your basis? Do you think the shot clock is a factor? Talent not as good? not the poster but agree completely. watching this Harvard / Stanford game and it is so dull. super low scoring, the ball is constantly on the ground (bumping and grinding combined with sticks with almost no pocket..) almost no long outlets in the transition. super crowded in the offensive zone, horrible spacing. just an overall tough watch...

Its only getting worse there wasn't enough talent a handful of years ago and that's why there have only been 5 winning schools in about 30 years. Now with new programs coming on board every year the talent pool becomes even more diluted. Not enough quality to fill out these rosters.

Just so ignorant . Look no farther than last year when UNC lost to both Maryland and Florida in the regular season and beat Maryland by six goals for the championship. I would not write them off just yet.

I would not write them off just yet. They have a very good goalie, one of the best draw kids in the country, probably the most talented offense in the country, have won 26 of their last 27 games. That said not having Dowd running the offense will hurt but to say they cant keep up with any team is just stupidity.

I'm watching, too. FL is getting picked apart. 10-5 with 17 mins left. Ouch. OTOH, MD's turf is rotten. The ball bounces like its tennis.

Boston College vs UNC was very close, the eagles look good. UNC doesn't have the defense of Maryland or Florida to keep up. Wasn't that close 15-10, BC with 3 late garbage goals. Boston College vs UNC was very close, the eagles look good. UNC doesn't have the defense of Maryland or Florida to keep up. Wasn't that close 15-10, BC with 3 late garbage goals. Well it's clear you have UNC allegiance. Because BC was up at half and had a lead w 20 to go You really are ignorant , you say BC looks good and UNC does not in a game UNC won. The game ended up not being as close as the score but yes it was a close game for awhile. I would say UNC defense is suspect but it was good enough when they beat Florida in Florida. Maryland is the team to beat and will be in the finals again. It was also Florida's first game After today, it's MD first and everyone else a distant 2nd... UNC UF Not at MD level yet. Maybe by playoff time??. The huge disparity of fouls between the two teams today is alarming. As it was last year with MD vs Syracuse. Hats off to Terps. The better team today and got it done w class.

Here is the rest of the top 100.

did I miss Alabama? University of Pennsylvania? Penn #89 89? Ok, if you want to major in dead end sports, or top 20 for a good job? List is silly It's the metrics of the list that plays a large part in the rankings. It comes from two reputable sources and was featured in SI so I threw it out there. All in all a lot of lacrosse schools.

How is this Penn State team? Can they beat Maryland out of the Big 10. No Penn State will beat Maryland like they did last year.

Final Four predictions:
1 - Maryland 2 - North Carolina 3 - ??? 4 - ???
Who will come on strong come tournament time?
Florida - Very good team. off day on the road at MD. should cruise the rest of the regular season.
Colorado - Putting together a great year. Big win on the road at Penn State. Two games in three days a long way from home will not end well at Stony brook.
Penn State - They were there last year. Will most likely play Maryland twice before the tournament, being battle tested will help prepare them in the NCAA Tournament.
Stony Brook - Easier schedule than most. They should be well rested for the tournament but not sure if they will be prepared.
Cornell, Princeton, Penn: - All three Ivy's are tough. All three play tough non league schedules. Teams could see each other a third time in the NCAA's.
USC - As much of a chance as anyone else.
The rest of the field - Can their be a real surprise ? Syracuse, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech???
I think it's wide open for a team that get favorable draw and plays well at the right time.

Crickets in Gator country! justifiably so. if she couldn't go all the way with Cullen, Gilroy, Farrell and that group of atheltic studs that had an 8 goal lead over SU in the semifinals??? then how in the world is this group of cobbled together lax rats ever gonna get it done? no shot, not in the same time zone as the all around athletes UNC and MD stockpile..

No way do SB or USC end up in top 4. I say playing on MD's crap field probably hurt the FL. I think they could be 3 or 4 in the finals. I need to find out more about CO. In other news, I caught the tail end of Duke vs. Elon last night. Not so impressed either way. Duke had some terrible defense. Elon goalie made some great stops. All in all, watching FL vs. MD made Duke vs. Elon look like a slow game. They were on a whole other level.

subtle way of saying LI head cases have poisoned the team culture. very nice
Do at least 30 seconds of a roster review, 3 LI girls on a team of 35. I think the opposite is true, not offering girls until after 9th grade year has many top LI girls already committed. This is not the case, just last year they committed at least one 9th grader (CSH), I'm sure there were others. Appears they aren't attracting top talent, they only beat Elon by 1.

Florida has great talent and speed but tough to beat a team like MD when you have 55 fouls to only 19, and give up 14 free position shots. MD never beats themselves and thrives on great defense and this year goal keeping.

And FL got 9 yellow cards.
