Lax power is not a pay site just scroll down when you get on the website and you will be where you normally used to be when going on the old site.

Florida domination
If you play tough defense like Florida and Maryland ,
Syracuse attackers
Can't get anything going

Yeah, that was a shellacking. Duke plays tonight but I think one has to pay to watch and I'm not that interested.

If BC is so bad then why do so many good kids commit there? A parent told me that they have a lot of top notch kids from everywhere committed. Is it a good school? How does it compare to other schools? My daughter is a 2020 and the class already has 6 kids committed

I will admit, since they hauled in Appuzzo, a lot of top LI talent has taken notice and will definitely help the program in the right direction, but they still have a long way to go to even sniff being a top team.

They have twins coming from BBP that are outstanding. They will be freshman when Apuzzo is a senior. Definitely moving in the right direction with this program.

Kinda, but now it give conference rank not total ranking on the front screen gives you the team in alpha order

Md,Unc and Fla have 8 outstanding kids coming in every year, with a dozen Apuzzo type upperclassman...long way to go.

BC also got the top players from NJ and NC next year and one of the top goalies on LI, they will be very good next year, they return every player so it seems. the 2018 class is also very strong so it seems with players from LI,CT and Maryland. 2019 and 2020 classes are loaded with talent, they have the top players in the class. This team will be very good in the next 4 years, it's a great school, kids get jobs right out of school, Being from NYC tons of BC alums work here.

Amen! Would also take a Notre Dame, holy Cross and Georgetown player over a player from one of those schools as well, at least in a job where academic credentials are more important after graduation than how many hours they spent playing LAX.
Obviously, would also take an Ivy, Stanford, Duke, USC NW and the like player over those schools as well, but since you're focusing on BC which is Catholic, I tried to stay on topic.
Those schools will get you a great lax experience, maybe even a dance in the NCAA, but the players at MD UNC FL SYR are typically, but not always, focused on continuing to play lax after college or teaching it, not so interested in the business world acumen.
Which is fine for them, the point is ... to each his own and good luck to them all.

Someone else said only the bench riding insignificants left the BBP team. Now they can add "quitter" to their illustrious resumes.

Some people go to college for an education, not just to play lax

BC investing 200m into athletic facilities in the next 2 years and it is located right outside one of the best cities in the country - along with other top schools like Harvard, BU, MIT and Tufts. Might not be the right choice for some diehard lax lifers but for most it has a lot to offer.

That's a pretty bold statement $hole! How do you know where these from UNC, md , fla, will end up! They were successful on the field and in the classroom . Driven harder than others. I would hire one of those hungry kids before some brainwashed Ivy kid who wants to make America socialist ! 90% of those Ivy kids are indoctrinated by the time they graduate ! Usleless in the business world!

While the post is a bit angry the sentiment holds true . First what makes any of you think BC is better academically than those schools you mentioned . The most commonly used ranking puts BC behind some of those mentioned and some of those schools you mentioned are more difficult to gain admission especially from out of state. Many BC students do come from affluent families , cost of attendance is nearly the highest in the country. It's getting a little old that so many of you feel the need to try and knock down the players that elect to chase their dreams .

The same question every year, do you take one of the five teams that have won every championship over the last 25 years or is this the year to take the field? Winners have been NC, Maryland, NU, Virginia & Princeton. Three of them are in the top 10

First off only a fan would call it amazing so stop with the nonsense. It's a descent school as in not exactly Ivy and no better than many of the schools that were named. As far as very nice area , maybe for an adult who works in Boston but it's not a very nice college town . The campus is okay , not a lot of green space etc, and say what you want but the kids that go there kinda like the school but don't exactly love it .

Stop with the nonsense. Not a fan yet you describe it as amazing and know about new facilities .Yes it's a descent school , it's not Ivy League and is comparable to many of the schools previously mentioned. As far as student experience goes I will take the Penn State, UNC ,Maryland, FL every time . The campus is not the best , some nice architecture but little green space , the town is nice for middle upper class families but is in no way a college town . Most importantly to me is when speaking with existing players and asking them if they liked it the reactions were not exactly what you hope for .

this year you can take the Top 2. forget NU that's history. MD is reloaded big time and blowing out top 10 teams like Syracuse. NC still the champ speaks for itself.

I am enjoying the surge of the Colorado's and VaTech's etc. but they pose no immediate threat the the top 2.

Agreed. Based on performance so far this year, I don't see how you can eliminate Florida from the conversation. I watched the UF vs UNC game, I thought they were pretty evenly matched. You also can't ignore what they were able to do against the Team USA. The Maryland game should be interesting.

There seems to be some dialogue as to "what is a better school". The mixture of sports life, class work and your own student's desire is an almost impossible equation that if you hit on all three I applaud you. But to single out a particluiar school, such as Boston College or Northwestern (NW in particular carries a lot of passion on this board) is ignorant.

In years past large schools were able to recruit below their acceptance levels due too scale. You have a 40,000 student body so recruiting 500 students below the acceptance levels was OK--especially in money sports (men's football and basketball). But it carried over to other sports for "prestige".

The Ivies and Little Ivies were the exception. You still needed to meet the acceptance standards. But not long ago that changed--again in the money sports but for the Ivies it was men's basketball. I'm not saying they reduced the standards like other schools (lets face it, Kentucky has no standards for its basketball program; they only stay a year), but they tweaked it just enough to get a qualit's player (Lin). That network money come tournament time was nice!

So you see t his now through all levels of college sports. The Ivies are still tough, don't get me wrong, but they have a bit of flexibility. NESCAC schools on the D3 level are the same way. You still need to in the top 10 percentile, good test scores, etc.

Jobs! That's why we send our students to the same schools, right? I'm a Villanova graduate and in my day went to Haverford down the road for some parties. Became friendly with a Haverford student who said, with a bit of superiority, "You go to Villanova? You'll work for me someday". Funny thing is I did and it worked out for both of us. Friend to this day.

My point is you have a student that wants to be a doctor, engineer, etc they better be extraordinary to make it as a D1 student. That's why you see a lot of Communication majors in D1. Slide over to D3, and the NESCAC (which I know well) and you have pre-law, pre-med, finance, graduate school candidates--it's a different deal. So if you want your student to have a good job maybe a finance degree from Middlebury will get them that Wall Street job better than a communications degree from Northwestern (just using NW because it's such a target on this thread!).

The worst school is not a school by name but when a student picks a school for all the wrong reasons.

While most of that makes sense the problem is generally when people on this site are trying to judge what those wrong reasons are for other peoples kids. Boston College was singled out because some blowhard decided the students graduating from there were automatically better qualified compared to several other universities . There are many variables that go into what school is best for each student .
