Someone was waaay overrated!! A sea wolf is no match for a gator with a great coach! What even is a sea wolf? YJ alumni game, 14 starters across both teams, YJ South won easily... Gators coach will always find a way to lose when it matters - she's clueless

The most over rated team in D1 should take a large tumble in the polls this week. Penn State got smoked in second half by Colorado.(unranked). PSU had some surprise in them in the tournament last year which propelled them to rankings at the beginning of this year. Surprised by the Cuse game, thought they would have showed better. Md very strong and looking great, but they looked that way last year too, until the final game. Stony Brook looked over matched as well. I know they lost one of the best offense players in the country, but it was their defense that looked lost. Fl legit.

Why does the female Tewaaraton Award almost always go to someone from the National Championship team (11 of 14 years). By definition it is suppose to go to the "most outstanding player". On the boys side they seem more open to recognizing the best player. The award will go to a girl that isn't on a national.championship team. The girl from BC is going to win as a sophomore. Only played 9 games last year before she tore her ACL. She's only getting better with every game she plays.

They had what was an impressive win at the time over Northwestern, but that looks less impressive now with the direction NU is going. This is another nice win for them over PSU.

Colorado was ranked 8th before the game and they will move up after yesterday's win. Penn State is a very good team, luck doesn't get you to the final four and within one goal of beating the eventual National Champions. Why surprised by Syracuse Vs Maryland game? Syracuse is a very good team but they were coming of a tough weekend where they played a freezing cold game on the road, got back on the bus then played a tough game on one day of rest. Not sure if they drove or flew to Maryland but either way wear and tear will take a toll on the players. Syracuse will be just fine. I commend them for challenging themselves with a brutal schedule. Maryland and Florida both on the road with one rest day. Maryland is great. Stony Brook was over matched. Every team has to deal with injuries. Florida is very good and will be fighting it out to make it to the Final Four. Easy April schedule, not sure if will help or hurt come May.

Look at UNC and tell me which starter the USC player replaces .

Team game.Team game. Team game! The Tewaaraton award is for most outstanding player not team. I am referencing her 6 pt game because another post said she would get destroyed against the good teams. She has 11 pts against Syracuse and Maryland this season. She leads the country in assists, so she is playing a team game. If the issue is because she's from top guns than deal with it.

Tewaaraton Award is an individual award that is suppose to go to the best player regardless of team - period. The boys seem to get that but on the girls side too much politics and too much emphasis on what team they play for. Last five winners on the boys side came from teams that did not win the National Championship and that includes a player from Brown and Colgate.

In the past 16 years, only twice has the award been given to a player that didn't make it to the finals(2011,2004). Only once has a defender been the recipient (2003). Maryland and northwestern have dominated this award for 10 straight years. Deck is stacked against girls not being on great teams. This might change this year with no real stand out player on Maryland or UNC. Both teams very balanced

Kayla Treanor was the best and most dominat player I saw play in the past 5 years. Every team game planned to stop her yet she dominated. She even broke the single season draw record her senior year doing it for the first time. Cummings is an excellent all round player and played middie which is a factor, but teams rarely face-guarded her. Teams would face guard other players on MD. Treanor was face guarded and doubled every game. She deserved to win the award at least once in my opinion.

Whittle 3 goals v BC. She should be on the short list of potential winners as well. So should Stukenberg from MD, girl from Stony Brook as well (who should have made National Team).... Give it to the most deserving player in the country. Not the most deserving player from the two top teams. Why should it be much different from the boys side or the Heisman in football.

This is an individual award. Team records should not be a big factor. How is MD doing without Cummings this year? How has McDonough done without her? Same will be true of Whittle when she is gone. Whittle has 21-3 on the season. Great goal scorer and great 1v1 attacker and should be on the short list of possible winners but her role is limited to scoring - limited assists and draw controls. She would have to put up major offensive numbers to be a finalist. Possible but not likely. Whoever votes on this award will look to full field contributions as a determining factor - ie Cummings and Schwarzmann.
