You obviously were not paying attention. The goalie played very well especially in the first half. She kept Was the one bright spot. Made tough save after tough save with virtually no help. Most shots were high percentage The kid is a stud. Not sure why u would try to make her look bad. Pathetic! You're referring to a young lady as a "stud"??? Wow, you people are ten times more bat $hit crazy than the boys parents... Stud? The whole team was just terrible. An embarrassment to watch. So I won't say the ND goalie played badly, but many of those saves were hardly "high percentage". A few hit her body when she didn't move her stick, 2-3 went right into her stick and some she tipped out that may have been going high anyway. Seemed to lose some focus in the second half.

Yawn... It is a common term used in sports for both boys and girls. No one takes offense to it. Save your fake outrage for your Facebook account to try and impress your friends from college on how progressive you are.

Did the 2023 YJ team merge? Is it one team or 2? No, they are still two mediocre teams.

[quote=Anonymous][quote=Anonymous]First off you are living thru your kids!! There is no pro lacrosse and why you don't send your kids to school so they graduate in 4 years with a degree and play. So it is ok to go to school and play for 4 years than go back to another school and pay full price for school. You must have a lot of money. What a waste of time and money. My girls played d2 and graduated with a degree and had fun and have jobs with what they went to school for. Yes in most D1 schools you can not do nursing. D2 yes. sooo do it thats what college is about. D1 coaches will not put up with nursing but remember after 4 years they are not giving you any money! There is only 1 national champ and in 5 years who cares. The points are 1: Stop limiting girls to being nurses ... very sexist. 2. That is One narrow profession out of literally thousands of choices; to limit the argument to nursing is silly. 3. These kids should be using lax to get into the best schools they can. D2 in most cases does not fit that criteria. It is being WAY overstated the limitations put on D1 kids with regard to majors. And a great liberal arts education from a place like williams or amherst will be way more valuable career wise than any D2 school. Now if your kid doesn't have the grades, fine. No judgement here. Just stop w the false argument that D1 is basketweaving and D2 is somehow real school. In the real world, where everyone else lives, a Stanford degree is a more valuable degree than one from Lemoyne. There are some excellent D2 schools where graduates go on to work side by side with D1 and D3 players. The "value" of the diploma means nothing anymore- if your kid can graduate debt free and enjoy the collegiate experience with a direction as to what they want to do in life then they will be ahead of the game. Who you know often is more important than what you know these days, and in 4 years a nacho, ors will be as useless as a high school diploma.

Many yellow jackets are overrated and get the looks just because they are YJ... ND is one program that took YJ players who were billed as the best of the best ... reality is they are just the same as so many other good players. So ND is on par with so many other schools. Plus, Barbara Sullivan was their rock... without her, their is a void on defense that is hard to fill and also leaves a void in leadership. Wisihing the Irish luck this year. Agreed on Sullivan, a former YJ by the way. Leading scorer for Team USA in that game was current ND player and former YJ Fortunato. For good measure the leadering scorer for Florida in their game against Team USA was Pirecca, also a former YJ. Florida had 5 YJ starters. How did your club show-up this weekend?

Most girls are not going to play there. Why so bitter about D2? Many feel it's the best of both worlds, and they tend to generous. It's about the fit- and as far as I'm concerned any kid that is talented enough to play at the next level, in whatever division, is going to graduate with a great foundation.

It's about the fit- and as far as I'm concerned any kid that is talented enough to play at the next level, in whatever division, is going to graduate with a great foundation. There are dozens and dozens of great D1 schools. Not bitter about D2. Find it laughable that some here would suggest that D1 somehow is the basket weaving, no education, no value option relative to these "unbelievable" D2 schools. Of course it's about fit. And the fit at D2 tends to be weaker academic institutions with kids who did not get the grades in high school and did not have the talent to play in the upper half of D1. Are there exceptions? Of course. Maybe it's the few that want to be a nurse. Maybe it's the one who only got a large scholarship offer from a D2 school and that makes the most financial sense. Yep. there are best fits for some in D2.

Can the tournament! She runs several others! I believe she runs more than a handful and for the ones she doesn't run its long been known that tournament organizers give kickbacks to have you bring your club to their tournaments. It is the most shady, double dipping, kickbacking circuit in sports

Now YJ teams can go to the TG tournament and beat up their teams rather than play our own teams

Wright lost the best players that felt they should have been pulled up and the top 10 girls on Thorn are heads and shoulders above the rest. Sorry but no comparison.

Obviously you are a blinded Thorn parent. How would you know who the best players were on Wright if you havent seen them play (with exception of the loss you suffered to Wright. FYI, not one of those kids who left Wright were head and shoulders above anyone else on the team. Maybe their parents thought the were, but not even aclose observation on your part.

Rumor is that Thorn and Wright will be playing each other in various tournaments this year as they will be playing in same divisions. Hence because they are two very close teams. Its funny how one thinks they are so head above the rest...don't blame the girls for leaving they were never going to be pulled up..because that team is a team of friends and family. That team will have to work hard to prove themselves because their reputation is a total joke throughout the entire lax communtiy. TG, Igloo, 91 and other teams all talk about that team. Its nepotism at its best! Good luck to all this season!

I believe she will, she is a great coach and knows how to get the most out of her players.

That would be great if Thorn and Wright are in the same bracket then we can compare apples to apples. If you keep putting Wright in the B bracket you won't be able to see how much better Thorn's team really is.

Thus far really like Janelli at the '25 age group. At both ends of the spectrum though, surprised at a few of the girls on this team.

The B girls that were moved to A were not the first choices. This happens all the time. Happened on my other daughters team as well. Behind the scenes deals are made all the time in lacrosse. I got this information directly from one of the coaches.

Their are to many girls on this team. Not sure what you mean by surprised. Some really good girls on the team but bottom is not very good. Can't imagine what 2025 were left to be on 25/26 team.

That team will have to work hard to prove themselves because their reputation is a total joke throughout the entire lax communtiy. TG, Igloo, 91 and other teams all talk about that team. Its nepotism at its best! Good luck to all this season! 2020 had some significant roster moves which throws cold water on your F&F theory You are comparing apples to oranges. 2020 was always a winning team that only got stronger. Were any friends and familes involved going up or down?

I bet you any amount of money thorn will NOT play wright this year at all. They don't want it to happen again...and it probably would. Not likely but keep dreaming! Wright lost the best players that felt they should have been pulled up and the top 10 girls on Thorn are heads and shoulders above the rest. Sorry but no comparison. Some girls were pulled up and left anyway.....lets hear your next theory. Sorry but the girls who left are a legend in their parents mind. Nobody left for fear of being pulled up, that's the most pathetic response I have read. Sorry mom and dad. Being able to catch and pass isn't a big deal in 6th grade. The B players that left are B players going to another B team that won't be a contender this year or any other.

Sooo ... anyone notice that Mitchell Field isn't on the tournament schedule? No more Long Island Elite tournament? I blame 2023 Wright for beating 2023 Thorn two years in a row. Stop the bleeding! Can the tournament! Doesn't the Mitchell Field cash grab normally happen around mid-July? I heard that the Mid-Atlantic Club tournament got moved to mid-July. I think it will be the same weekend as one of the Richmond tournaments. Looks like a bunch of the Maryland teams are also getting tired of those IWLCA cash grabs.
