Yep, it's gotten that bad that the 2025 banter has jumped into the 2024 thread.
Who knows if the intentions of the first post about TwentyFour was to start (S***) or if it was just an observation but we all need to know that no matter what is posted on here, it will be ridiculed.
I get it, 91, Express, Igloo, Legacy all clearly "elite" travel teams, no question. Then there are your "B" teams or lower tier teams. I watched these "elite" teams and I was impressed. Eventually with hard work and some good coaching/mentoring, there will be several more A-teams.
Stay in that elite world, it fits for what you are trying to do, leave everyone else alone. Travel town teams need to back off start-ups as well. It's not fair to a kid that wants to grow as a player to be punished. All of these programs are good and they ALL meet or exceed what a parent is looking for so their child can become a better player. Some may be blinded by the big names, so be it, if they have the money, have at it.
So we bash B-brackets while bundled up under three layers of jackets and sweatshirts drinking coffee, while a child is out there busting their butt for the love of the game. Here's the challenge for the "elite" parents, it's your turn, put the gear on get out there and run up and down the field in rainy cold weather and prove to them that you belong in the "elite" division, oh wait, it has nothing to do with you, it's your kids that are playing, so why do you think it's OK for you to be their voice? Please stop with this "weak" team nonsense, ALL teams have their weaknesses from too many kids on a roster to undesirable coaches to ridiculous costs. It is what it is.
Forget Trump and Clinton for the fall of Western civilization, we need to focus on youth sports and it's not even the kids it's the parents. Again there are awesome teams out their but don't fault a 9 year old because of politics, because parents work and the travel team they have selected fits their needs but can give their child a little more than maybe a PAL team. PARENTS ruin sports, period. The only way your kid is talking like this is because they hear it from mom and dad.
STAY OUT OF IT. Let the coaches coach, let the kids play and if you're not happy look for another option. You add nothing to the team or the development of your child if all you do is BASH, BASH, BASH.
Chances are your child is going to be more than a professional lacrosse player and what will your response be, "NO WAY, we invested too much time and money into youth lacrosse for you to be a doctor, a fireman, a lawyer, etc."
Here is a suggestion (start bashing away) but I will provide anyway. Be a chauffer, be that ATM machine for when they need gear, be their fan, be their support, DON'T be their voice, they can handle it, trust me, but if they can't, that would be YOUR fault.
Back to the bracket issue. SO a new team goes to a tournament where they may not belong at the start, they get beat up, but I did not see one kid from that team with his head down crying, but I did see a lot of disappointed parents, WHY? ALL you did was drive them their so get over it. Hopefully it was a learning experience for the coaches who the parents pay to train their children. They make some adjustments, enter a tournament based on their ability as a new program (with NO CONTROL over who is in the bracket with them) beat some teams WIN, they wear their CHAMPIONSHIP shirts to school proud as can be and you MOCK them for it? Those boys earned those shirts, PERIOD. That is truly SAD and this is why parents have no place on the field.
When I start my travel program I guarantee the parents will not like it. The boys don't have to try out, the parents do!
PLEASE just stop.
Can't wait to see the masters degree rebuttals to this post but like everything else on this board, it's JUST AN OPINION, right?
#ALLHOPEISGONE Thank you. The level of insanity from these parents is insane. The kids forget their last game very quickly at this age, even after a tough loss. They generally don't care or know anything about other teams, other than they exist. Meanwhile you have the peanut gallery over here ranking 9 and 10 year old teams and their players. It's pathetic and frankly the fact that so many of you nut jobs are watching my son and his team this close is a little concerning.

Great post...The coach of the Longboards needs to take a long look..At the tournament last week you had kids coming from all different teams. And in the Finals even more. And you still lost..Remember you have kids on the Longboards who are going to loose playing time so your TAZ kids can get another Tshirt. They lost 6 or 7 players last year because this was done repeatedly to them. Initially they did not mind because they won. But believe me those boys on the sidelines did not feel so good down the stretch.

#ALLHOPEISGONE Best post ever written on this site. i agree 100%. my son does not play for one of the top clubs, but has played against them and it's true that the parents take the losses harder than the kids. these kids are out there hustling to the final whistle and improving. i used to get caught up and tried to coach from the side thinking i was helping. my kids hate it....ive become my sons amd daughters biggest cheerleader. i meet them back at the tent and nothing makes me happier than the smile on their face when i comoliment them on the tough ground ball they picked up or the pass they made. the kids notice the lunatics and will stop looking to play. so to the original poster....i hope your kid is playing on my sons or daughters team.

When I start my travel program I guarantee the parents will not like it. The boys don't have to try out, the parents do! -- this is great -- i have seen kids in my older sons grade not make a team because of their parents reputation and behavior. --thank you for this post, it reminds that their is hope.

Stop pointing fingers at the "losers": They all worked their butts off in terrible weather last weekend....they all are winners for their efforts.

Haha, did you just refer to this as "real life?" Whose, yours or your kids? I created that post for social awareness of a growing problem called "parents." So this is real life, B brackets are for losers and the other gem was the trophy's for everyone comment. If you knew me, I am The LAST person to be a fan of participation awards. My son and some of his friends work very hard to get better and that is important, not just showing up, so that's that. The B bracket issue, well let's just say these were created by parents so that we wouldn't have to share a sideline with the the parents that refer to 9 years olds as losers. YOU'RE WELCOME!

They should be 10 by now and if they aren't in the top bracket, they should give back the shirt. It can be a teaching moment for all you parents with soft kids. And I did not offer any thanks.

The initial thread was in response to an obnoxious comment regarding a 2025 team that was made on the 2024 thread. So your 2024 child may be 10 by now unless born in November or December but most 2025's should be born in 2007 and therefore would be 9 or soon turning 9.

Really nice thing to say a kids on the B team..... They are losers... guess what...you are the loser! And I bet you think your kid is the best player in the A team... he will probably quit playing lacrosse by 8th grade, or better yet, he will be on the B team and the kids you referred to a losers on the B team will have taken your precious sons spot on the A team.. then it will be ok to play on the B team, right? You are nothing but a fool...get a life and let the kids just play.

Just face facts, it's a world of competition, everything is measured, even the number of calls you folks have to answer at the call center. Be the best or your job gets shipped to India. Or your kid gets sent to the B team, so teach your sons that they always need to bring their A game. I''ll repeat, you are either first or LAST

This loser pops on the thread once in awhile. A real d*ck. Just ignore him. Sounds like he got picked on in high school, so he takes it out on 10 year old boys. Ignore the little [lacrosse]

If you want to believe that, go ahead. You know the truth.
First or last. It's much more beautiful at the top and you know it.

Lol, jobs in India. I wonder if bill gates was an A larosse player. What's your point loser. Kids should watch tv or play xbox if they aren't on A teams. I was a B baseball player my whole life. Played baseball at a Division 3 school. I have a great paying job, a great family and a ton of friends. So I am at the top, loser, just listening to your ignorance, you are at the bottom. No scram.

DIII Baseball? Really, that is what you cling to and brag about at your "great paying job" and tell your "great family and a ton of friends" just before you post on here? That's really the funniest thing I've heard in a while. I hear the minimum wage is going up, so stand by.

You should stay off this thread! Are you really that ignorant that you are belittling 10 yr old's that are developing, and a father that obviously is happy about that?? I was a div-1 wrestler in college, my job is pretty good where I don't have to pay too much attention to the min. wage. Most likely you or one of your family member's have worked for me the past. So be nice to my B team kid. I KNOW he is a good player and is having fun doing it.Also, you and your A team kid might end up working for him someday.

HAHA good one, but we all know wrestling was just your excuse to roll around on the mat with another man. But hey its expectable these days so no need to lie anymore.
