Glad the Wolfpack played up this weekend so that they could make it to the finals and then be declared "co-Champs" when the tournament organizers didn't make them play the Warriors. What a crock.

NO, Please, not this argument again!!!!!
Look at all sports, are the players any of them getting smaller?
Football? Basketball? Baseball? NOPE.
But lacrosse will buck the trend so the average kid size wise can still have a chance at glory in his parents minds. CooCoo. You really are thick headed aren't you? Nobody said that being a bigger player doesn't give them an advantage. But, about half of all college rosters are kids 6' and under. To say that 10 year olds that are on smaller side now will never have a chance, makes you sound stupid and uninformed. I'm sorry your son is small. But I bet he is crafty. Ok, we get it. Just because you and the little Mrs. are both 220lbs+ you think that your little Johnny will be big and that alone will help him leave those shifty little attackmen in the dust. Good luck

Look at all sports? You mean look at all NCAA sports.... what about wrestling and soccer???they are sports?no need for super big fellas. I watch quite a bit of college lax. The teams are not huge. Wrestling? They had to create a superheavyweight class because there was too much disparity. Soccer players are longer, leaner and faster while carrying more weight. To argue against nature is just dumb, dumb, dumb. You know where they don't care about size? At the hedge fund where I work. Hit the books and be coachable and there will be spots at top academic schools which is all that matters. As soon as you get into college forget summer lax and get an internship. If you think travel lax is competitive wait until you see college kids competing for the best jobs.

Get Low? Really. Like go through his legs? Go watch a Varsity practice. Watch how a 6"4' 220lb longpole matches against a 5-foot nothing attackman. Even just in an isolated one on one drill. The long pole will drool over that matchup.

College coaches will spend time sizing the parent(s) up at a visit. Just had it happen. Even offer the height of parents/grandparents and siblings (everything helps). There is no doubt that lean 6"5' Long Island kid that can run like a gazelle is an asset on any roster and coveted by out of state ADs and boosters.
BUT this is 5th grade youth ball. The kids have not hit their growth spurt or puberty yet (except maybe the really holdbacks). Stop worrying about college and let them learn and enjoy or eventually love the sport.
Ask a varsity player. Once Schoolball starts it all changes. New kids suddenly join. Lacrosse becomes faster and there is much more contact. No more Daddy coaches or watching on the sidelines in practice. They practice or play 6 days a week. 7am practices in the rain on the weekends. The sport isn't as fun and kids move on.
Why not just let them enjoy the sport now. For now just forget how big they are or will be and where they are going to college. They are 10.

Now that is an ignorant statement. ESM has hard working dad coaches who give up their own time to coach a great bunch of hard working boys and great parents. ESM is a town team that held their own against a strong travel team that played unbelievable defense. ESM is not trash and that is sad that you would have to stoop to name calling. Shame on you.

Saw 2024 express/Esm ship game. Just curious to know where is Esm from? Very agressive bunch of boys, many penalties thrown there way. The only thing that was aggressive about ESM in that champ game was their crazy mommies. Boy were they an annoying bunch. Guess they were expecting to win. And if you really saw the game it was clear who the aggressive team was and it wasn't ESM. Saw 2024 express/Esm ship game. Just curious to know where is Esm from? The one Express mom was hooting and hollering like it was the olympics. At least the ESM TOWN team did not add players to their rosters for the Championship game like Express did.

This poster speaks the truth! Have to have btdt to appreciate the "fun" that we should see in youth sports. They absolutely size of the parents, siblings and maybe even the mailman! Facts are the facts Well sh*t, you guys would know right? College coaches will spend time sizing the parent(s) up at a visit. Just had it happen. Even offer the height of parents/grandparents and siblings (everything helps). There is no doubt that lean 6"5' Long Island kid that can run like a gazelle is an asset on any roster and coveted by out of state ADs and boosters.
BUT this is 5th grade youth ball. The kids have not hit their growth spurt or puberty yet (except maybe the really holdbacks). Stop worrying about college and let them learn and enjoy or eventually love the sport.

Alright, enough of this size garbage already.
Who's playing Blatant this weekend? Wolfpack (Playing up) Taz (scared to get tested), Igloo, 24, Outlaws? Anyone else? Looks like it will be another beautiful day.

Glad the Wolfpack played up this weekend so that they could make it to the finals and then be declared "co-Champs" when the tournament organizers didn't make them play the Warriors. What a crock. Don't worry there's another tryout next year. One day Dad, one day! Keep those fingers crossed

kind of exactly what I posted last week. This thread is becoming a forum for insults and beat downs for those with kids not playing on "the best of the best" IN 5TH GRADE. Pannell-MLL Offensive Player of the Year-how big? Big enough when you have mad skills. Kids grow at different times and develop at different times-physically, mentally, emotionally. PERIOD. Rest is all BS. If your kid is on TAZ then good for him and I guess good for YOU. That should at least assure him of a scholarship and financial success. ROTFLMAO

Just discovered this website. This is youth lacrosse! Half of these kids aren't even going to be playing lacrosse in 5 years, and there's a good chance you parents that comment on here will be the reason. Stop living your unsuccessful athletic careers/boring marriages and home lives through your children. These kids go out there and play to have fun and people like you ruin it. You people need a serious sit down on a leather couch in a heavily bookcased office of a professional. Or maybe just a long hard look in the mirror. Jesus Christ.
Sincerely, Concerned Brother of a LI Youth Lacrosse Player

Sincerely, Concerned Brother of a LI Youth Lacrosse Player Well said. Sad thing is that they will ignore you and continue with their nonsense. To think that they are parents is frightening. If their kid read what they wrote he would say, "damn, my dad's an assh.ole!!"
