Not all teams have hold backs that's why the WYSL tournament is for the best teams with no hold backs . Then you will see who are the best teams . Sorry Crabs Fca Team 91 Hawks Tell me again which teams don't have holdbacks? You'd be surprised I bet. (Even some of these A and B teams have holdbacks) I am sure this is correct being a holdback does not mean you are the best player. It just means you have a better shot at being the best player.

API DBacks will participate in the WSYL. Typical Why would anyone spend all that money to go out to Colorado for 13 year old lacrosse? Its crazy. Thats a years worth of club fees right there. Especially when you are talking about the Diamondbacks. it might be fun to watch the diamondback coach get thrown out of a game on national television assuming they have a shot at making it that far. i can see it now cameras showing all the dads on the sideline with matching team apparel and lanyards.

Thanks mm-we know its about your kid If another player even touches his kid (legal touch/hit) he is screaming at the refs, the other teams coaches and even the other teams players. Play a zone defense against his team and he will bash that team on social media, they don't know what they are doing etc blah blah blah. He needs to teach/coach his team on how to play against a zone defense, not [lacrosse] about it. There are many teams that play man to man and then switch to zone and MM does not like this, feels it has no place in youth lacrosse. Really, then when should they learn to play against a zone??? Get with it MM, youth lacrosse is about kids being taught/coached and have them grow in the game. It is not about just you and your kid.

WYSL teams all have holdbacks and at the very least are made up of an ALL Star roster very different from the one that plays all year. Kids that are born in August now can not play with their teammates and friends that are born in the very next month. Lets not kid ourselves in believing that any team does not have a holdback . Teams are very competitive and there is nothing wrong with playing against the best talent for your kids age group .. meaning 1 or 2 year difference . Its funny to come on here and act like it is not everywhere and on every team. I can say for a fact that any of the 3 sports I played my entire life up to college had a 1-2 year difference in ages.

The validity of any "National Championship" is based solely on the strength of the teams participating. Many of the tournaments proclaiming World or National Champions are jokes when 12 of the 16 teams involved are slightly better than rec programs. The teams and parents just use the Tournament as a way to vacation in Colorado or Florida.

Pre firsts would fit into this category as defined in Webster's So boys born in August of the same year as someone born in Sept are not allowed to play . Sad, especially if you are a parent and was told by every school in the entire country that the best thing for your child is to wait, or try and make a best decision after a year. 1 month to 12 months age difference is what ALL OF SPORTS has used for ever. Only now in the Helicopter world of cry baby parents do we try let our kids roll through with no real competitive atmosphere. Even though the younger always will be the older in a matter of a year. Good luck quoting Webster's in High School to your kid if your kid wants to play as an under classmen. If you are a team in Maryland then you have holdbacks or pre first. Its the way the school systems are set up. Making a decision to hold back your kid now in 6th or 7th grade just for sports is crazy, however decisions that were made in the very beginning are being treated like a crime. Crying because your kid has to play against someone that is a few months or even a year older is sad.

Yes , every team must qualify , many teams played in tournaments that were set up for them to win. The league play will also count . HOCO has many of the best teams at this age group in the country . Should be a lot of fun.

Just because MIAA schools have brainwashed you and all the rest of the prefirsts that everything is ok and you are in the right grade, doesnt mean the rest of the youth sports world buys into that. You prefirsts parents just love to moan and groan that we are only a month older or even just a year..And you prefirst parents dont want little prefisrt to be one of the youngest players on field. But you dont mind that your prefist player is the oldest. You want an advantage at Youth sports that other children born on same day and year as your prefirst dont get! Let that same child be one of the youngest, you and your child got yours. Somehow that seems fair to you.

It is being heldback. Everyone agrees that you can do what is right for your child, but that doesnt give you some special rights to get an advantage other children dont get. Youth sports doesnt crave out special exceptions just because you held your child back for whatever reason. But lacrosse somehow justifies this special exceptions.

Many of the Dbacks are doing Dicks TOC as members of the Dukes Nationals team. Like the Cannons feed Madlax Nationals now, Dbacks feed Dukes Nationals. This is an off year for the 2022 teams at Dicks who still uses the archaic two year grouping U9, U11, U13. The 2022 teams are U12 this year so either they add older kids or they will probably get beat by a 2021 trophy hunting team.

Next season, he will start to look at 2021s. There are two years to go until he starts looking at 2022s. Ty also just retweeted Mark Dixon's comments saying National/World Championship tournaments are too much for 12-13 year olds - so I doubt Ty is shouting out about anything for 2022s.

This is the funny part of this point. Its the parents who have a son that is the 11th best player on the team. Or the 4th attackman that are the most upset. When you see a kid 16 months older then your son on his 2022 team it piZZes you off. You like the club you like the coaches you like the tournaments but you son will have to sit behind a kid 16 months older then him for the next 6 years. So if you add up all the playing time this older kid stole from your kid over the next 2 years before high school it adds up. I get the play in your grade no matter how old you are the summer before 9th grade. But anytime before that you are a cheat and a punk to play your son down a grade for his age.

You still cant comprehend that the YOUTH SPORTS world doesn't revolve around holdbacks and the MIAA schools. Your child gets to play with his friends all he wants at school and on EVERY school team plus all HS club teams. But Youth sports is about age. It isnt about Holdbacks and letting your son along with other holdbacks get an advantage over others exact same age..or get "special rights" . So no special rights isnt a joke, it is a joke that you think it is ok to give your son an advantage others dont get, just because you and your MIAA school decided to hold him back in kindergarten.

Sounds like some of the top coaches do not like the new Tournament for a National tourney. What are everyones thoughts. Who cares? All the top teams will play each other at some point. They don't always play each other. Many times the top teams will travel to a tournament and only play 2 or 3 competitive teams. For a true national championship, all the teams will be competitive. Whether you call it Young Guns, or Elite 8, or National Championship, teams just want to know where to find good consistent competition.
