Total fluke that T91MD, DBacks, and Hawks finished ahead of them and Madlax easily bumped Crabs out of playoffs.

FCA and Crabs did well in B level tournaments over the summer, but didn't make a peep in the better attended events.

You are a complete moron - Crabs performed less than stellar but played nothing less than top AA tourneys all year. No B tourneys played troll....

Any of the good teams implode? Who benefitted? Been hearing FCA may be the team to beat this year.

2022 FCA and Crabs were fine last year and will be better this year...and will not suffer implosion like other teams. Knowledgeable lax families understand that these are the 2 clubs to play for if the ultimate goal is to play for a top college program with outstanding academics. Along the way the boys have fun, get great coaching and most will have great college options. That's why as families we support these programs. Argue all you want about win/loss records in HOCO, tournament results and even holdbacks, but we are keeping our focus on our long-term goals.

They made finals up at Hill School and led Express at half. Made Semis of Young Guns.

And what are your long term goals, teaching kids it is ok to cheat and game the system via the holdback route? Both of these clubs are loaded with holdbacks. Use to be that Crabs was by far the leader in this category but FCA is quickly catching up and maybe equal to Crabs in the number of holdbacks.
So just keep you eye on your so called long term goals, telling the kids they look much stronger as a player when they play kids 1 to 2 years younger. Life lessons here are being destroyed by cheating but your kind don't seem to care, as long as your little johnny looks good at any cost. Outstanding academics, what a f'in joke.

You are an angry person who needs a reality check--holdbacks at 2022 level are non-existent. But keep deluding yourself if it makes you feel better. FCA and Crabs will continue to offer the best choice for families who have goals beyond winning 6th grade HOCO championship.

I dislike the holdback system as much as anyone. But can anyone I mean anyone find any club from NY to NC that has grade base teams but also adds a age limit for these teams. I am guessing you will not be able to find one. So we all can agree there are kids who reclass correct. These kids need somewhere to play. And I can not find a single club with a NO HOLDBACK policy on the website. So call out 1 or 5 different clubs over and over again please have fun. But until the club your son plays for puts no holdbacks on the website move your efforts to the parents or the tournament leaders.

"holdbacks at 2022 level are non-existent"

what? you think the 2022 kids that did prefirst are playing 2021? please. This whole grade base is evil thing is over blown imo but to say it doesn't exist at younger ages is delusional.

Not angry at all, seems like you are the angry one for being called out and it doesn't sit well with you. As for a reality check, you really need this. If you think for one minute there are no holdbacks at the 2022 level, you are completely mad.
Crabs and FCA only offer a program designed to game the system and bottom line, how to cheat. Like was said a few posts ago, little johnny feels really good when he can dominate kids younger than him. And, the parents must feel so proud watching little johnny, "look dear, isn't our son terrific" while he plays younger kids.
Get a grip buddy, you are way off base and way out of your league.

LOL. There are many clubs that have just as many holdbacks as the Crabs. Clubs like Madlax, Duke's, Laxachusetts, etc.

Look, not sure why your son had a bad experience with one of these clubs, but 2022 FCA and Crabs have 99% on-age players (sure, maybe some kids with summer bdays, but every public grade school class in the US has these) and provide best long-term benefits for the players. Just deal with your anger and resentment in a more productive way. We will continue to move forward and I suggest you do the same instead of trolling teams you know nothing about. And if you need to vent more, I suggest you name the number of holdbacks on either 2022 team.

Literally every club team from Crabs to Looneys from 2025 to 2020 have kids on their teams that many would consider "holdbacks" (mainly kids from Private Schools that did a pre-first year) Team to team, the playing field is level.. IF your son is at the younger edge of the spectrum like mine, he'll just have to work a little bit harder to compete at the AA level which is not necessarily a bad thing. What's next? Are we going to start complaining about kids that are maturing earlier than others? Hitting puberty earlier? Trust in your sons ability to work hard and develop the skills around bigger slightly older kids.. Who knows, by the time highschool comes around they may be better players than the kids that relied solely on their difference in size.

There are at least 9 kids on Crabs 2022 with birthdays prior to 9/1/2003. There are 3 kids on FCA 2022.

My son knows most of the boys on both teams and Crabs does not have 9 kids held back although FCA's number is close.

Crabs 2022 absolutely has 9 kids born before 9/1/2003. Call them what you want, holdbacks, prefirst, just started school late, whatever. All the McD kids, the new kid from Bethesda 2021, kids from Mater Dei. You really think there aren't 9? You are either lying or you just don't know.

They should rename this forum site to be the "Holdback Complaint/Whining Forum". Truly unbelievable how many folks whine about this in every single age group for boys. It does no one any good at all to whine about it unless there is a plan to change to an age based system. In Baltimore, there will always be some kids who started Kindergarten at 6, went to pre-first, or even repeated a middle school grade. Different families have different reasons for doing so and no one should forget that very often those reasons are very valid ones that have nothing to do with size or athleticism. Just hold out a year or two….they will all be in high school and there will no shortage of kids who are bigger than all the holdbacks! Someone should arrange a butt-kicking contest and offer front row seats to all of the whining parents so they can enjoy seeing all of those OH-SO-OLD holdbacks be taken down!

How about a butt kicking contest and we start with you? Stop trying to defend the holdback system and making excuses that blah blah blah lets just wait blah blah blah. If your kid can't cut it playing on age, get him to try harder, not that complicated.

Crabs did not even play 2 of the best teams at this age group last year at all. In a year where everyone played everyone at least twice. Between 2 leagues one right in their back yard and play days and tournaments. .Crabs at Young Guns was the most favorable bracket I have ever seen for a club . Teams in their bracket had played 2 games before they even got to the fields. Completely avoiding the same 2 top teams. FCA did come to play but was not successful against any of the top teams. Api , hawks and 89+2 .
Everyone is however expecting better teams from both because they will have a majority of players at least a year older. This is a fact . This is the year parents like you are exactly what those clubs hope come to their program.
And if you think that Crabs and Fca are the only programs to put out collegiate players then you really are just fooling any else. ling yourself. you surely aren't fooling anyone else. Try going on other clubs websites and look for yourself.

You do realize FCA as s club didn't exist when most of the families made the decision to hold back their kids. FCA or most clubs have absolutely zero to do with families making a personal decision. And no it's not cheating because cheating requires one to break a rule that exists. No law against pre-first or repeating a year.

Correct in rules are not being broken. Glad that makes you feel better. And almost every club out there didn't exist when these kids where in kindergarten or 1st grade and EVERY club at that time only had u13 or higher teams. Clubs have nothing to do with parental decisions but do advocate and lobby for those kids who are being held back now in 6th or 7th, 8th and high school and possibly even earlier for what ever the reasons . Holdbacks at an early age are one thing but to do it now to gain an advantage on a sporting field is cheating all that is good in sports. Every team has them but some actually promote it and that to most honest people is sad .

You do realize that FCA beat 89+2 and API last year?

thanks for the clarifications , I am a bit tipsy spewing on here..
