Heros is a terrible organization. Parent coaches, total disaster. Amateur hour. LOL. Was your daughter on one of the teams that Hero's 2019 rolled over at Hofstra last summer? I caught part of one of their games - their parents looked mostly bored and their coaches did not seem interested in running up the score. So, what's your problem with Hero's 2019? What we were wondering about was why they would bother travelling up to the Island and not play YJ Blue. That is a game that we would have loved to watch. TG & YJ top 2019 teams were both at U-15 last year, if you're planning to come to LI again this summer TG & YJ 2019 & 2020 wont be there, will be at U-15 again Think about that for a minute.......... The Hofstra women's coach runs a summer tournament, asking all these teams to come play, at the same time the TG director is sending her best teams/players out of town for the U15's. Would you be upset if you sent your club teams to drive up from MD to find uncompetitive games because many of the better teams are out of town?

Do any of the top Maryland teams go to the U15? It would be too much effort. If the established graduating class teams were to go, too many players would be over the age limit, to put in an existing team they would have to reach down a graduating class and thus have a harder time competing. They could just have try outs and slap together the correct aged girls but then you lose all chemistry and hierarchy of team structure. It's a tough spot to be in, but would love for them to figure it out and represent themselves somehow.

U15 is a waste of time. Could have a local tournament w top md teams for national championship recognition if that's what parents cared about here.

I understand that, but wouldn't the md teams want to shut everybody up once and for all?

U15 is a waste of time. Could have a local tournament w top md teams for national championship recognition if that's what parents cared about here. That's basically what happens during the un sanctioned summer tournaments, and the Maryland teams represent very well. But these tournaments use the US lacrosse rules very loosely ( including the age restrictions) because USLax has no teeth. The new age cutoff dates by US Lax are supposed to be adopted by all the summer tournaments running under the USL banner which includes the insurance for these tournaments. But they likely never will. I do notice over the many years how most tournaments rise and fall in and out of favor, but the U 13, U14, and U15's is the National governing body's Championship, and will remain. You can shy away from it all you want, but the club dominating it, likely would either way.

See you this summer ... btw, bring your daughters' birth certificates and we will bring ours, so when our girls beat yours w a 100pct on age team it will be even more embarrassing for you.

When losses mount, pull out the old age excuse. Be glad to show birth certificates but not to someone trying to make excuses for their child's team. No girls in md doing this but glad it makes you feel better!!

Then just answer this question: How many girls on your daughter's club team would not conform to the new age-based cutoffs? For 2019's that is birthdays between 9/01/2000-8/31/2001. You will say you don't know, but I promise you there are more than a couple. For our team there is exactly 1. She stayed back and repeated 8th grade when she transferred to private. M&D -- want to venture a guess? I would bet at least a third of the roster, and likely some of the "best" players.

That is the only school that has prefirst for girls. For Boys, BL and Gilman and St. Pauls does as well. There is not a single girl on M&D 2021 that went to prefirst. I can't speak for the 2019 team. And the person that said they know plenty of girls that have repeated 8th grade is full of it. That is just not a common practice with girls. Why do you think people do it?? Why don't you guys put a U15 team into the US Lacrosse tournament?

Not saying that. Both LI and MD have many older girls. Silly really. But it will all even out in the end. Other regions have far fewer girls that play down an age group. US Lax is doing the right thing w the age divisions. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any enforcement mechanism for them.

Etc......Yet every girl who plays lax aspires to be on those teams, honored by the same organization who crown the national championship of each age group. Been to any and all tournaments mentioned as better, and have won at all of them. Yes some offer better competition, but none of them are more fun and thrilling for the girls, not even close.

Which is the "Worst" team? All I know is, Elevate 2019 went into MD this weekend and took down some of the top teams in a big way to win the summer classic. This Elevate team is one of the top teams in the country. We beat every team by at least 8 goals. Good defense, potent offense and good goaltending. When we joined Elevate Dave said that this was one of the top teams in the country. I think he is wrong. I think this is THE top team in this age group. Next week we are off to New England to take down the top teams up north. I have a feeling this team may not lose a game this summer!
