BOTC has been around for two years now. Do you think that this "cultural" issue started just with the launch of BOTC? In fact, you have the cause and effect backwards.

This "culture" has existed for years and was only discussed in private telephone conversations, personal e-mails, and sideline chatter. Back of THE CAGE has provided a voice for those previously closeted conversations. The presence of BOTC has shined the light on just how deeply engrained the problems seem to be.

So, think of it this way. Before, there was a set of problems and no one felt free to discuss them much less highlight their perceived issues. Now, there is still that same set of problems and a forum to let others know that they are not alone in the lacrosse community. BOTC has provided you a forum to discuss moving forward. Effectively, you now have a community that can foster change.

However, your answer is to now ignore BOTC and the "community" that has been formed and go back to the old ways which will allow you to "solve" the problem?

You correct, Parents from all over the country, from many clubs,. I also agree that we must be role models. BUT... All these parents, from all over the lacrosse world are not here saying anything disparaging against Top Guns, Liberty, Suffolk County All Stars, M&D, Sky Walkers, South Jersey, T3, Cardinal, Or any other club. There all her, Universally, saying the same thing about the Yellow Jackets. The rest of the lacrosse community seems to get along . It's just this one club that continues to believe that all the rest of us are just jealous of them, and refuse to believe that there just wrong. You can fix it, if you just learn that losing is a part of the game and its O.K. if a girl picks up a ground ball without running her over, play good "D" and you'll get it back without sending a girl to the hospital. All the girls want to win, you just don't care if you hurt someone to do it. It may not be taught by your coaches, but you sure don't discourage it . And in the end isn't that the same as teaching it

So do us a favor and do something to change it so we don't have to worry about our daughters having to go to the hospital when we play you

Not a YJ parent but please how do you put them all on same level.What is your standard for comparison.

My d was in a McDonalds in NJ during weekend of LAX for the Cure.

She is a 16 year old girl, some idiot,(grown man a dad I presume) chewed her out based on the uniform she was wearing.

A grown ADULT verbally disparaging my kid BECAUSE she had a YJ uniform?

At National Draw, we were at a Vendors table, spending money, again another rude remark based on the team affiliation.

Why do the adults feel a need to make comments to kids?

My kids have played all sports at the travel level.

Lacrosse has been THE worst for parents being numbskulls.

Please don't think I'm stupid, Of course your a Y.J. parent, and it's ok that you ask.

You want to go college commits. Y.J has about half it's members committing, But so does liberty, The only difference is the number of players each club has, Y.J. has 2 to 3 girls to every liberty girl so of course there list seems bigger T.G. is still new but even with that there producing college players with a promise of far more to come.

Talent of players- Though Liberty v Y.J. games are pretty rare as are Y.J v T.G and liberty v TG its hard to say that anyone has more talented players so you must look where the clubs take a majority of there players from and this is where the line starts to blur

T.G. has started to dominate the south shore so your looking at Bay Shore, Sayville, The Babylon's,

Liberty Manhasset and the all over Nassau

Y.J. Northport, Garden City, Saint Anthony and the north shore of suffolk .

Of course girls from all over are going to each club, and this is in no way set in stone . and of course there are the smaller clubs that have very good players like Wave that takes a lot from Massapiqua, and Farmindale, Express takes from Three Village, Sachem

Some towns have better feeder systems allowing younger teams to dominate, While others have better J.V and Varsity allowing teams to catch up in the older years. In my opinion The yellow Jackets are getting the girls from the better feeder systems allowing them to win early, Liberty and Top Guns pulling from the better Varsity, and thats what we witnessed this year. Seeing that head to head games are really pretty rare we have to look at common opponents, and the best example will be Sky Walkers, all teams played them, only one team won Top Guns by 1, but then lost by 1, liberty played them once , losing by 2. Jackets played them twice losing both by I believe 2 and 3 ( I am using only 2015 blue ) all sounds pretty even to me.

Great answer BOTC...I would add however that it is imperative to be focused and civil in our conversations. If so then positive change can come. But the negativity, name calling and out right disrespect only fosters bad results to include these arguments spilling from cyber world to real world possibly causing serious damage. Your thoughts?

One way would be to see what sky walkers did to all three teams within a two week period this summer. 2015 SWs beat top guns by one goal, liberty by two goals, and the yjs blue (1) by three goals. So with the SWs being the best in the country, this shows that these three long island teams are all very strong, and very close in talent. Good luck to all the teams.

I did so I will ask what is your opinion of that play that broke the wrist of the TG player? Is a hard cross check to the back of a falling player who already released a pass within the rules? I genuinely am curious to hear the opinion of any YJ 2015 parent who was there.

Didn't liberty lose to YJ 2 at U15?

Who died and left you in charge. Your analogy is far fetched and YJ still TOP program on Long island. So skywalkers won congrats to them.Both Liberty and Top gun did not fare well against YJ 2015 . In fact TG lost the head to head competition at ND. Liberty can't compete at all lost to 2 nd team players with half 2016 kids on team at u-15. Actually don't know of any head to age age group completions that Liberty or TG won against the YJ all summer. I could be missing one do please help.

If you have some factual information please post how great Liberty and TG is so much better in comparison to YJ so we can all see it.

The downside to being number one is that everybody hates you.

Somethose though, number one is hated just for being number one.

Participants weren't just envious, they were willing to sacrifice in order to pull down number one.


Good luck to YJ the forces are against you why because these long island folks struggle beating you and thus now hate you. They use this forum as a cowardly way to attack you and try take you down. Your stronger than this nonsense. Good luck to all.

Liberty lost all head to head competition against YJ

No one said Liberty or top guns was Great, or so much better than Yellow Jackets. But this and the surrounding posts are why every team in the lax world thinks you are obnoxious . The post simply stated that the teams were even in talent and you psychos just cant stand the fact that your not as dominate as you used to be. Liberty won at the rise in 2014 where the yellow jackets sent there top team. Quite simply liberty was better that week. you all need to calm down your girls are good , so are Top Guns and Liberty's girls . Show some humility and stop trying to prove to the world how much better you are. Every other team seems to get along . How does it feel to be despised , and not because your the best, Sky Walkers is the best and every one at least gets along with them , But because your obnoxious haters . I would rather my daughter lose every game and have respect, then win with you and be despised

They don't play against each other often, but here are facts that show how the teams are real close.

FACT
TGs beat sky walkers at u15, something yjs1 could never do this year. Yjs1 lost every time.

FACT
Both liberty and the yjs were at the northern rise this summer, a big recruiting event. Liberty won the tournament for both 2014 and 2015.

FACT
TGs (3rd place) and Liberty (4th place) both placed higher than yjs1 (eliminated early) in the u15 nationals. Yjs2 placed the highest, with an impressive 2nd place.

To me, all teams are awesome, but the 2015 yjs2 can say they did the best out of all long island teams. They did the best in the u15 tourney, when every team was there, doing much better than their yjs1 "friends", who did not make the championship round. They did great and played with total class. Well deserved yellow jackets2. Congrats.

Once again YJ 2015 beat top Gun head to head and liberty lost to YJ 2 made up of 2016 kids. When you beat them head to head, which you might, then come on here and spew your garbage. Other than that both TG and Liberty did nothing notable against YJ

Please list all other head to head age group competitions that you can muster up where YJ lost.

You will hardly come up with any. Keep trying to beat around the bush with all this other crap about comparison in relation to other teams played.

I heard that YJ 2016-2019 teams were not allowed to play any TG teams this summer unless it was in a playoff format, YJ picks and chooses who and where they want to play in an effort to protect their precious won-lost record. The club is for sale and has been for some time, the entire transaction would be based on cash-flow analysis, which means you need as many players rostered as possible, so of the 800 kids on teams perhaps 200 could be called "elite", the rest are cash cows, but they all need to be convinced that they are part of something special (no more red/green/black teams, only blue and gold) in order to keep them coming back each year. Most teams tend to put a little more into their "A-Teams", but the YJ have taken that to another level. The YJ run is coming to an end, the playing field is level for the most part. The fact that they bring 25-30 teams ($50,000+) to a tournament still allows them to manipulate brackets and scheduling, but that too will evntually come to an end too

I totally agree about the numbskull analogy. We have been involved with lacrosse since my daughter has been 5 years old, now 15. There is so much crap going on between lacrosse parents that it is sickening. My daughter started high school last year and played volleyball for the first time. The parents were so nice and it really was a breath of fresh air to be around people that actually rooted for the other girls on the team.
No ball hogging in volleyball and people other than parents actually come to the games. Her first game there were about 300 people in the stands for a JV game. Women's college lacrosse is luck if they can get 100 people.

YJ1 beat TG by one. TG beat SW by one. SW then beat TG by one. TG never played YJ2, who by the way was not made up of 2016's. They had a few 2016's on the Disney team, as did TG and SW.

It all seems pretty close to me. Like we used to say in soccer: Any given day.

YJ run coming to an end. Says who? I just witnessed lots of happy YJ kids at their tourney. From the looks of it your dead wrong and they have only grown bigger and stronger every year and YOU can't stop them with your trash.

mitchell field tourney is what it is, four or five 25 minute games, half the yj teams play each other at least 1-2 times. i agree with earlier post, tg has only been around 2-3 years and they seem to have caught yj already, especially at the younger ages - yj has an advantage with older groups, they were all playing together for years before tg was formed, so the likelyhood of them moving was very small, but many people were looking for an alternative and may have found it in tg and liberty, the younger yj groups are going to have all they can handle against those clubs going forward

Really....an illegal check that results in a broken bone is uneventful. Were you there? If not you are commenting out of turn. This exact play is the very reason for the weeks worth of discussion and YJ defending that has taken place. I suggest you do some reading of past posts.
Many posters have asked for specific facts and not just rumors concerning the less than legal play of this team. Well here is a fact and not a rumor. It has been posted many times without a single response until yours. TO THE YJ 2015 PARENTS. ARE YOU GOING TO LET THE RESPONSE POSTED BE YOUR OPINION? If so all the previous posts about you, your 2015 team and your club are true! Live with that!
