I hope Plainedge and Lynbrook enjoyed their wins today. Thursday they will be on the receiving end of those beatings.

OK It's such a powerful League

Yes it is. SA and SHA are two very strong teams. Kellenberg beat Southside and Calhoun, both teams in playoffs, and Kellenberg does not, generally move players up to varsity. So there will always be some very strong players who are on JV until they are a junior, thus not fielding their strongest teams at the varsity level as they could otherwise. SJB has been very strong in the past and had an off year. The others may be weak but the top 3 are solid and could compete with many publics.

Read in Newsday that SA are graduating 14 seniors, how will this affect them going forward?

From what I saw the freshman middie was the best player on the team, so I'm sure they'll be fine

Who has the biggest chance at pulling an upset?

HHH ? They beat Northport why not Commack?
Ward Melville? Anything is possible but don't hold your breath.
Sachem East? They made a run late in the game last time. Maybe today.
North Babylon? Has the best chance today.

Thanks "big mama" now go and call newsday, news 12, fios, mad magazine, the national inquirer and all of the contacts your chubby little fingers can dial. Stat padders what joke it's high school sports it means nothing in the long it just is what is, sometimes good players play on bad teams and vice versa. Watch your kid play and enjoy the memories good or bad.

my comment about lynbrook having a tougher schedule than MacArthur was more about the teams they played SS Plainedge Seaford and Oceanside and the leading scorer was to say that as a strong point

Lynbrook beat McArthur handle shutting down their top 2 scorers (1pt) collectively. Could have been a lot worse team played stall ball last 10 minutes.
Good luck against GC

I know that freshmen middie at SA, didn't see her play there, but know she is "lights out" and one of the best 9th graders on LI.

PORT - While Syosset has some good players - even some better players than the top players at port, port has more good starters and by far a deeper bench if they chose to use it.

We get Lynbrook dad..... Only one of those teams are "power conference " teams so your tough schedule is a little light get your coach to schedule tougher out of league games.Good luck GC is waiting for you, remember by loud be proud the GC crowd will love you.

North Bab has no chance. 1 player gets, 7 goals a game against brentwood, copaigue etc. leads suffolk in goals lol. NB team beat 1 playoff team entire season. and got blown out by a weak Sachem N team today.

He thinks he can, I'll bet he swabs the crap out of a deck. Sorry couldn't resist he has been a laughing stock for years. No one in the lax community takes him seriously. If I'm correct he walks the plank at the end of this season not sure if he coaches YJ 2015 or 2016.

Really going out on a limb saying they have no chance - after they already lost (15-9). You realize the playoffs started today, right?

Other games:
HHH won 9-8
Smith E won 14-7

I know many proud parents out there won't want to hear this but......many of the players with large goal numbers are not very good players. So many variables go into the numbers, all they are is a light indication of ability to shoot, and even that is misleading. One player may take 75 shots to score 50 goals, another may take 150 shots to score 50 goals. And were they wise shots?, as in were they not into the goalie's stick? thus a turnover of possession. Were they backed up thus leading to change of possesion? In each case you would have a 50 goal scorer but with drastically different impact to the team. Look at the top LI recruit coming off the island this year (nation this year for that matter), you still think a high goal scoring is the end all? Would you recruit the 100 players in front of her with more goals, before her? Point is the stats are close to meaningless with all the variables of teams, schedules, bad coaching, stat padding etc..... Go watch the games and then tell me who is good.

Odds of win - Wantagh 80%, Plainedge 20%

Plainedge has a punchers chance if the horses they ride can hold up. The problem Plainedge always has is it builds its program even from the PAL ages around just a few kids.

Article in Newsday should have been called player of the "weak". That coach forced the ball to that kid even in blowouts against the worst of the worst hoping to get one kid big numbers so she will get the big post season award. Hopefully it is recognized for what it is , bullying bad teams and not making any player around you any better. That said it has worked in the past so who knows.

/|\ That! Been thinking this for years while listening to stat-padding/bragging parents who don't get the big picture. Had one in our town who was "all that" but had no, ZERO, ability to use her non-dominant hand, turned over the ball all the time because she was intent on going to goal, etc.
