They are the best on Long Island? Have they played against every girl on Long Island? The only reason the are a shoe in for UA is because CR runs the whole thing. And to say she doesn't give almost every YJ player the look over other kids is a lie. A few players are on the same level from Nassau that never get the look.

Agree 100%. They stand and complain with their dopey jackets and then engage the parents from the other team. Then ask for security to quiet down opposing parents. Their facility is a dump. It all starts with their town teams that are directed from wannabe coaches who think they are Gary Gait coaching Syracuse. Their varsity coach is the biggest complainer which carries thru their organization and community. CLASSLESS

So team not winning = lets blame the coach? Schools record is basically flat for as far back as I can find, no better, no worse. Maybe there is some talent but probably not very deep. Parents need to march up to school and demand a change!

Lacrosse players are a dime a dozen - with a few handful of absolute standouts. Do you think all good players are born into certain towns or districts? It's the coaching. The idea that HS coaches are going to pitch in with the PAL and town programs is just not going to happen. For one the actual seasons overlap so they have their own team to worry about. Secondly, during the summer many of them, usually the better ones, are working for clubs, where they get paid. And thirdly, and most importantly, they are probably so fed up with parental meddling that the last thing they need is a fresh batch of parents telling them what they are doing wrong!

That said, it isn't a great mystery why certain HS programs are consistently strong, and it is because they have sound development at the youth level. I can't speak for other towns but in Manhasset I used to laugh at the lacrosse talent teaching the 4-5-6 graders. More than a few of the dads had played in college, and then we would throw in roving visits for practices from the likes of John Gagliardi, the Petracca boys, the Molinari boys, there were always Millers available to help out. They were usually groggy from the night before but they were adored by the kids, and they knew more about lax than the dads who hadn't played.
