LI parents are in for a rude awakening if some 10 yr old playing down gets you all upset. Wait till you play the Md,philly, and Boston teams in a few years. Not to mention Canadian and any teams off the reservations.

Exactly !!

Doesn't work that way. Invites when they mean something will go to the best player. Of course any showcase 91 is involved in will do their best to shut out better kids so theirs get highlighted, which is a disrace. Honor the game??

Blatant Fall Jam - they played Express B, Igloo B, Top Side Snipers and Hitmen to win the 6th Grade South bracket.

In the Shamrock Shootout, they played in the only 2022 division, but their opponents were Duke's National team, Empire Green and Hitmen. With all due respect, not an "A" bracket -- but you can't fault them in that case.

Sounds like it! I don't believe one bit of this! There are plenty of teams out there getting kids recruited. NLF is just another money grab. If the kid is good, he will be recruited to a good program. Nobody is recruiting the scrubs just because they are a NLF member! That's funny! FYI: if your kid does not start he's nor likely to be recruited.

It is accurate. You will see as the kids get older. I don't think the NLF and other similar groups (that the NLF copied) in other states claim that this is the only way to get exposure. However it is an additional way to be noticed. These teams in the NLF will be at the same tournaments the other teams will be at but they will also be at NLF invite only tournaments with college coaches. It can't hurt them. You will also see by 6th or 7th grade the best teams are set. Trying to get on one of those top teams that are known for recruitment and directors with college conections will be more difficult as each year passes. Most kids are playing to have fun at this age but there are a bunch who think they want to play in college. I agree it is way to early to discuss this stuff but at the same time it may be too late to get on one of the top teams as most will be set in the next couple years.

Getting on a top club at this age is a waste because the Directors sell you a dream of making the club, take your $100 at tryouts, and are bringing back the same kids. All while they collect $100 x 500 kids at tryouts. Stay on the team you are currently on and when your kid gets into high school go to Prospect camps with the college they want to go to.

I think the point is the NLF kids can do the prospect camps too. Those camps get very expensive with fees and travel costs. Also very time consuming.

Outside of the NLF, what other exclusive/ exclusionary club partnerships exist?

None in New [lacrosse]. All that exist are far and don't take Long Island teams.

NLF is not local either. They operate out of Bradenton FL. They have just expanded to the North. At least one Long Island team tried to join but were denied. With these types of groups It appears a club needs to have top teams in each year and a history of having top teams in the recruitment years to join. That seams to be the way all these groups work. Of course there is politics as with all groups so odds are teams are also denied because existing members won't allow a club in.

I'm curious to hear what the college colleges who run smaller clubs now will have to say when the NLF tells them they are not invited because they have no history of successful teams!

You're righr, you are silly. To think you're kid will be recruited at all. You do realize that most don't. Parents are living in dream world! And just because your kid is a great player in 5th, means very little. My son is now a senior. Only one of the starters on his very good 5th grade team was recruited. Ironically the best kid from that team turned out to be a 3rd string middie! Just let your kid play and have fun, don't buy into all this NLF crap. There will be plenty of opportunities to be noticed if you are a stand out player!

Badgers are a perfect team. Express is a perfect club. There is no infighting. They are better than last year. These are not the drones you're looking for.

They one a weak fall tourney and claimed to be better than everyone but the Bandits. Now they lose to a mediocre team and it's crickets. Typical.

The only thing that is typical is everyone has their facts wrong. Shore 2 Shore has not scrimmaged anybody this spring, only practices. Someone has the wrong team or just stirring the pot.

Any teams playing in Pro Player Spring Jam next weekend? Rumor has it the competition will be very impressive for a preseason tournament.

Is team hills travel or town team ?

We played in syosset shootout and they were not allowed to play in championship game because they had many players from other outside towns. Is this the same team?

No, totally different team. These are hills kids. PAL 2nd team.

will see. would be shameful to be disqualified again and for the handful of true hills boys to deal go through the embarrassment.

I'm sure JC will have a Huntington team with a roster full of non-local kids.

100% correct. To add to statement on prior post, it's same leadership who makes it a totally different team and goes under different team names. At syosset they went as huntington, disqualied to play in finals after discovered many outsiders used. Blatant tourney went under huntington as well used few outsiders, many upset parents spilled the beans on sidelines to the other teams parents.let's see what happens this weekend. keep it simple, let the boys from their town play with no outsiders.
