Obviously these are Legacy people stirring it up. Because otherwise the focus would be on an entire team of 2020 boys which is what should be the focus

I have no idea what 91 did or didn't do. This I do know. Winning this event says you have the best youth team in the Country and translates into dollars. Organizations want to win this event. Right now these kids shouldn't even be playing travel ball since its the School season anyway. Consider it bonus lacrosse. very disappointing how 91 has handled this and the unity of that team...kids were competing during Fall/Winter getting ready to move outside for the Spring to compete even more for spots on the rotation, and tourneys, etc...then this comes a long...picks a team a few wks right before the tourney and jams a few practices in with 4 crushers...in a tourney that really means nothing...some kids not picked, opt out, others go because they feel like they have to, others hardly play during games or practice, even ones playing more are effected as there is no continuity/flow in the team and their play...complete disaster and hearing crazy tension there...coaches arguing, defenders running midfield, middies running attack...am sure they will work hard between now and Denver and may even win it but it makes you wonder was it really worth it?

I love your excuses!!!! The rules are the rules. Make sure when your son plays this year he tells his school coach he is scared to play against an 8th grader who is 3 months older than him, better yet I hope he's good enough to play in HS or College when he's a freshman tell his college coach or HS coach he can't play until he's a senior because mommy and daddy are afraid it won't be fair.

That NLF thing is more important as well as the brand of 91. You can't lose and say your the best apparently.
Only one guy developed talent that's JS. The rest acquire it and put there name on it.
They will sacrifice every kid for the better of the 91 brand, they are up 21-0 and they still have those CRUSHERS in scoring at will and not to mention some of the parents and the way they act. I saw a 91 kid flip a parent off after the igloo game because they were celebrating.
Nice job 91

How does 91 use Crush Kids when the rules clearly state that players must be on the team "All players must compete with their team or program on a regular basis. Minimum requirements are that players must compete with their team/program for at least two other tournaments or in a seasonal league. These events do not need to precede the qualifier but must precede the Championship event. WSYL reserves the right to require proof of participation in these tournaments or leagues. Players cannot be added only to participate in the World Series."

You can play for a travel team and then you can play for a tournament team as well.

The rules were made so the teams didn't have to play together the entire season.

You were correct until you mentioned they shouldn't be playing travel ball at this time due to school ball season. So what your saying is it's time to regress with Middle School ball ? So the kids who trained all year long with their travel organization should take this time now to rest and focus on strictly town , play at the level of kids who do not participate in travel and picked up their stick a month ago to tune up for town.. Just Way to many clueless people still stuck with town ball "rules" that have vanished years ago, no less middle school ball. Or just maybe your one of those guys who are all about town travel and wish some kids who play elsewhere would come play for your town to make the team better as the coach is not offering the high intensity training that others are getting. Come back in 4 years and see who's left on Varsity as far as who plays travel and who doesn't. The game has evolved and travel offers way more then political town ball, and as this age group is the largest Boom of high end lacrosse players you will be seeing drastic changes like it or not at all town school varsity programs , there will be no choice left for town to up their programs if the varsity coaches want to keep their jobs.. I have no idea what 91 did or didn't do. This I do know. Winning this event says you have the best youth team in the Country and translates into dollars. Organizations want to win this event. Your wrong. Heres why. Some kids choose not to play on their middle school teams, thats fine, the studs will have been brought up to Varsity. At any rate, if you are playing school ball you are playing 6 days a week , two hours a day. An athlete should rest at least one day. Your going to run the kid into the ground. Also, programs ,like the SMithtowns , Ward Mellville . CSH, and many others have great programs and coaches. I believe Chaminade just lost to one f these programs. Chained who picks the best of the best lax players in the Island could not beat a reggae;r HS team that has to draw its players from its own school boundaries. You were correct until you mentioned they shouldn't be playing travel ball at this time due to school ball season. So what your saying is it's time to regress with Middle School ball ? By the way. my son os playing MS ball and he loves it. He likes being with his friends. He enjoys helping kids learn how to play. My friend coaches JV, his school had a kid pick up a stick for the first team in 9th grade, by 10 grade he was a varsity starter. For some of these kids , they will in fact be playing for their School at the Varsity level, they will want to win. SO developing this other players is important. We try to keep our youth teams going, not for the 4 or 5 who are great and play travel, but for players 6 through 10 who will be needed to contribute at some point down the road. This is the time for your child to lean to be leader. His skills should not go cold because he spends 10 weeks to 12 weeks playing school ball. As for Travel. cool , awesome. just had one of kids get a scholarship to a very good academic college for lax, he never played travel. I know varsity coaches, they say recruiting runs the gambit, son of their players never speak to them about it and the travel team does it all, while other kids do it totally threw him.

Yea and those schools you mentioned have a massive amount of travel organization affiliations on each of those named teams.. If you think those are strictly town .. think again. This age group in particular is tremendous in the amount of travel being played , any organization will tell you 2021 is the largest draw of all age groups , and play level is above and beyond for the majority of those kids then what's ahead of them when they were at that age. Its on an incline and the younger are even more savvy then the 2021's . times have changed and the game has changed ! Your wrong. Heres why. Another delusional parent, let me guess your not and everyone else is.
You can practice 7 days week or 1 it doesn't change the athlete, some kids can pick up the game at 10th grade and be good, others can play 7 days a week for 13 years and it won't make a difference. Understand that everyone is crazy and everyone makes a choice and no one really cares what your choice is. Once you get over yourself and stop worrying about everyone else and who does what it shouldn't matter.
Also to the guys who stay on 91 with a person who benches you to win and throws you to the curb and you stick around because you think your son is getting better makes me laugh.
Go to the crush games and watch the 7 kids who don't play and then watch were they are in 4 years crying that their HS goal stinks because JS had them on crush

I know two kids, both great lax players, both had major injuries and tons of wear and tear problems with their feet because of how much they played. Now maybe kids will stop playing MS, maybe they will stop playing JV and Varsity and it will only be club, but I doubt it. SO if you want to take a 12 year old kids, put him through two hours of practice 6 days a week and then travel on top of it, even if you get lucky and you don't burn him out mentally , you will grind him down physically. . Cripes, Travel can freaking take tow months off.

I would think most competitive travel 7th grade lacrosse players would be playing on the JV for the town they live in. At least I know my son does. Middle school lacrosse would be a complete waste for him.

I would think most competitive travel 7th grade lacrosse players would be playing on the JV for the town they live in. At least I know my son does. Middle school lacrosse would be a complete waste for him. Because in your mind, just playing lacrosse for fun with his friends is a complete waste. In 8th grade he'll be on Varsity and in 9th grade he'll have a full commitment from the best D1 school out there...

Your son must play on a very weak JV team. In our town there is no way any 7th grader in the country could play on it.

Not every school allows 7th grade kids to play jv. If they are pulling kids from 7th grade it usually means they need players or it is a weaker program. Middle school ball is fine. It never hurts no matter how good a kid is to keep learning and practicing the basic fundamentals of the game that advanced travel teams spend less time doing. Many schools do not bring up 7th grade boys lacrosse players . Our town is behind the times .a current MS team loaded with competitive 7Th and 8th graders all coming from good travel teams are mixed with kids who have struggled for many years to learn the game and to be more specific catch, throw and know how to play positions. Everyone gets a trophy on this team regardless of work ethic. Hopefully as they get with the times , the ones who work hard prevail and the ones who do not should pick up another sport, there's no way to strengthen a program like the top echelons have unless the work hard get rewarded motto is implemented. Way to many politically correct ways of doing things set up for a recipe for disaster for many kids down the road when being led on until they get older and cut from JV or varsity. You were correct until you mentioned they shouldn't be playing travel ball at this time due to school ball season. So what your saying is it's time to regress with Middle School ball ? Legacy, Express and Eclipse Please keep in mind that when you see a club's name come up as asterisks it means that BOTC has made a determination based on our direct knowledge and experience that the club is not a club we want to recommend to parents and players. We demand a very high level of business practices or we deny you any visibility. Buyer beware.
