They get it plain and simply because they have the players !! Very few High School teams have more than a few girls that can really play. Teams like Manhasset, GC, ESM, Wantagh, Mt Sinai and others have 20 girls or more that can truly play. That's the only reason they may have balanced scoring. The true test will be when and if they play each is the scoring as balanced or the playing time for as equal. Lets see when some teams that don't have 20 players win by 20 and one girl has 12 goals. There is no excuse in those type of games not to play everyone. If these teams shared the ball more would stick with the sport Again this doesn't fall on the players shoulders, it's the coaches fault. You're asking a teenage girl to make decisions that are morally right when the adult coaching the team can't make the right decision. Kids will continue to play the way they always play when they are on the field. Take them off and let the others have their shot. Coaches have to be responsible for the stat padding not the players. Kids wont go against their parents and the go to goal every time mentality. And whoever said earlier that some would rather lose and get their points they are 100% correct and that's a freakin shame and what's wrong these days Question for all those complaining about goals , assists, stat padding. Maryland vs Northwestern tonight Maryland is up 15-4 about 5 mins left Taylor Cummings scores her fifth goal a short time later she nearly has her sixth how do you classify this. I would classify it by saying that most of the people on here do not understand the game. Most of the people who carry on about the ball hogs are in fact the selfish ones. They want the ball passed to their daughter so she can score. These are the parents who only value goal scoring. That is why they get so upset when one girl scores 5 or 6 goals and their daughter scores none. These are the parents who blame the "ball hog" when their daughter is not being recruited.

That's just a stupid question. You can't compare a top tier D1 lacrosse match up between MD and NW to a lopsided High school game.

Agree with this wholeheartedly. Colleges generally recruit the best athletes who typically can do many things for a team - between the 30s, ground balls, defense, draw controls, etc. not just goal scoring.

Why does everything come back to recruiting? That's why the game is being ruined. I don't hear this at volleyball where 1 girl will play in college or at soccer where maybe 2 or 3 will play in college. You nuts that have hijacked this sport make every decision based on recruitment and that just sucks for everyone else that shares a sideline or team with you.
Pass the ball because your teammate is open and that is the way the game is supposed to be played

People who understand the game can see past most ball hogs. We have a girl on our varsity team (no shes not my daughter) who just does all the work on the field, ground balls, face off controls, assists and great defense. While shes not scoring 4 or 5 goals a game she is by far the best player on the field. Just because you put your head down and go to goal every time and score 5 or 6 goals while taking 15 shots does not make you a superstar. Anybody who understands the sport can see that.

Lacrosse and Basketball are similar. Either teams spread it around and there is a lot of scoring. Or teams ride their 1 or 2 horses (ala LeBron James). The games are virtually similar, depending on the talent make-up. So you all should stop complaining.

That's why getting into the Books and studying will always be far more superior then LAX or Field Hockey...Like it or not lax mom and dad , that is the reality... sure life lessons and commitment comes with playing a sport BUT There's no pot of gold people when college is over! Wasted time and money and friendships lost through the years over a game that your child played at one time.. End result Spend that money on tutors and get more money for college! You are correct. This is why I like watching Field Hockey a lot more than Lax

That's just a stupid question. You can't compare a top tier D1 lacrosse match up between MD and NW to a lopsided High school game. If MD wants to rub it in for some reason it's there prerogative at the D1 level. Most college coaches let up after a while, MD could have scored 35 against Hofstra if they wanted to, but they didn't. Cleary was sending Amonte a message

I've checked west islips box scores so far for this season. They seem to be a team that spreads the ball around. Even in a 17 point game the heavy hitters only scoring 3 apiece. No hogs here. Even giving the freshman the ball. Only 2 games in, so time will tell

They don't give them out in Nassau either unless you're on a top team in the top division. Girls can bust their [lacrosse] in a lower division which is decided on by school size and never get a nod. It's a shame, something needs to change with the politics.

I can tell you now who in sufffolk will get the AA.

Are you talking about the power conference that is NOT decided by school size or playoff divisions that are based on school enrollment?Conference A had zero girls make AA last year while conference B had 12 (4 GC. 5 MAN and 3 Wantagh) and conference C had 2 (both from CSH)

Nassau playoff grouping is a joke. Every year in B you give it to GC, Manhasset or last year Wantagh and in C CSH needs to win two games by about 20 goals in each game. Only A is competitive.
Regular season is much better where teams have the guts to ask in to the power division
