We don't want them or the players it's bad enough there is favoritism on the team already.

I wonder if you took a parent poll on blaze, how many want the guess players, or prefer their own team? Blaze add on players choked, broke down without Daddy. Embarrassment! Broke down without the monster lefty attackman and couple of other premier midfielders. They replaced Blaze kids with Crush kids who on their own make little or no difference, makes it even more disgraceful.

I have no doubt Igloo is the best "on age" team. But I can think of an absolute beast of a 2020 who is a June birthday who might be going in another region - doesn't sound like 2020;s made a difference in the North Regionals, but I wouldn't assume that would be true in others. And I can't recall if Greene Turtle has ever played Igloo, but they are a very good team out of the East.

See everyone assuming things this early is wrong. Igloo has played together the longest and has team chemistry and played team lacrosse, so it was not unexpected at this juncture they wouldlook the best. Legacy has a team full of 2020 kids 1 or 2 weaker 2021 kids so they are also strong team wise. It will be interesting to see how these teams evolve from now til July

Once the 5 kids they only care about commit, this team will collapse. What a disgrace that in a televised game that was over at halftime, they wouldn't put kids in the game whose parents paid the same about of money.

Congrats to the South and East teams that qualified for Denver.
Out of curiosity, which teams were combo teams, which were 2021s?

Team Carolina is its 2021 Travel Team that lost by one last summer to Igloo at Hogan. All are 7th graders! Should be a great tournament. Just my observation but Igloo has to be the favorite unless/until someone can prove otherwise. I think it will be more competitive than some think! Denver and the WYSL do a GREAT JOB in making this a "Special Event" for all the kids and families.

It's an age based tournament, who cares what grade they are in.

You are correct, no hold backs on TC. No holdbacks...ok TC what is your age cutoff for your 7th grade team? I bet part of your team would be in 8th grade if they lived in NY. That's the great thing about this being an age-based tournament to avoid the nonsense of grade cutoffs in different areas.

You are correct, no hold backs on TC. Maybe no holdbacks but a lot of transitional kindergarten (Charlotte term for starting late) kids who were born summer and spring 2002.

The 2020 Legacy Taz team was dominant in the North Regionals, but in the summer things should change as they will have to play some of the 2021 players. This makes Black Ice the odds on favorite to win it all.

Touché, Taz had 26 penalty minutes against Icon. Now you know why the score was 6-3.

Please keep in mind that when you see a club's name come up as asterisks it means that BOTC has made a determination based on our direct knowledge and experience that the club is not a club we want to recommend to parents and players. We demand a very high level of business practices or we deny you any visibility. Buyer beware.

AND the teacher happened to tell a couple of kids about the new rule the night before so they could bring their calculator with them to the test?! That's the issue! The IMPLEMENTATION, TIMING and LACK OF TARANSPARENCY (as well as the original 5/1 cutoff date) leads many people to believe this change and timing was engineered to benefit a select few. Right or wrong, it just looks very suspicious.

Our organization acted upon it...they didn't stick their head in the sand and pretend it is still grade-based as I am guessing your organization did. We didn't make the rules, we are just playing by the rules. I love how so many people/teams want grade based where you can hide holdbacks and say oh it's a 2021 team whereas it would reveal holdbacks and in certain parts of the country those 21's might be 20's. There are no secrets on our roster...all boys on the team are born after May 1, 2002. You can stop your conspiracy theories...you sound like an excuse-making nut! We've got young talented players so we must've had an inside scoop? Do you hear yourself?

If international teams come to the tournament it needs to be age based. All of you crying about not going by grade must be disappointed little Johnny was too old to make the AGE cutoff. I'm done listening to the crying. Good bye.

I am curious about the teams and programs that went with the new rules/age grouping for wsyl. What are you doing the rest of the year? Are the boys still playing for their 2020 &2021 teams as well? Will the teams be split after July 4 or will they play in the 2020 brackets because about every other tournament is still grade based. What happens going forward?

I think U13/2020 debate is mostly an LI issue.
I think in most metro areas where these teams are from, like Baltimore, Richmond, Charlotte, Tampa, Dallas, etc., 2021 teams already/normally have 5-8 kids with May-June-July-August birthdays. No scientific study, but friends of mine in a few of these cities, at least in neighborhoods that feed private schools, says parents would never start a boy with a Summer or even late Spring bday in kindergarten as a 5-year old.
