LOL! , Why, because you beat YJ in the Shamrock Shootout last week?. YJ doesn't even have a true "A" team. They have a 45 minute evaluation on indoor turf in December. Basically divided girls into last years squads and coaches just split up some of the new kids. Teams didn't even practice until. February. Let's talk after TG actually wins something besides the first tourney of the season. What a joke! Are you just upset because CR tweets about the 2025 team and not yours? She only tweets about teams that win. Can't tweet about losing, it's not cool.

I didn't realize Top Guns still had teams! That's great! Good for you guys! It just proves that the little guys still have a shot of avoiding YJ.

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy YJ schedule to post on a TG thread. Same dad who probably pays thousands for training when there's a brick wall right in front of his house.

Are these teams ever going to practice? 3 of the first 4 were cancelled already. Girls will have very little time to get used to each other and their new coaches.

Go away Was it raining on the first Sunday practice? No it wasn't. Canceled because they thought girls would be away for spring break. Stupid move. Maybe it's because there are no world class coaches home from school yet.

This is probably the sole reason the smart dads took the girls away from this program No coaching, no practices, equals no chemistry so sad. Way for it.... Coaches are available everywhere but TG is not looking for quality coaches Sorry. I bet YJ and L has practices this weekend and I know for sure u can find the magic man out just watching Mr coach

This TG/YJ stuff is getting old.... Practice/play lax and be happy! Its youth travel lax. Enough with the drama.
Being involved with club lax for two years, by far the majority of YJ/TG parents are not like this.

Sounds like a sh*t stirrer's in the house! TG has quickly become irrelevant, this thread will be as quiet as Liberty and Elevate (accept for a few lunatics), once the summer season is over and it becomes apparent that they can no longer compete

You cannot even compare TG's to Liberty or Elevate. TG's has gone straight down the toilet. Look at the commits for TG then look at the commits for Liberty and Elevate. Absolutely, no comparison in the schools. 20 Hofstra 10 Townson and a couple of strays. Move on!!!!!

These girls should be focusing on going to college for academics not lacrosse. There are a few IVY league schools on Top Guns but lets face it number one you must have the money to go to an IVY league school and number 2 the kids that are going to these schools are going because they are smart and are not going to PLAY LACROSSE.

Ivy's are all blind admission, if you get accepted they will make the finances work - they all have multi-billion dollar endowments and are really just about the cheapest schools to attend. 2200 SAT score and a good lax stick will get you into most

Elevate however has very few 2018s committed and only a couple are going anywhere decent when you look at both lax and academics combined. I would take Towson or Hofstra over Duquesne and some of the other schools the 2018 Elevate kids have committed to! Why didn't you mention YJ. They have a lot of kids committed to great schools. CR does a great job in helping them. Again, I also see that Liberty has a lot of kids going to some very good schools as well.

You are ill informed. Ivy's are a percentage of family income, so they can be the price a state school due to large endowments. If a player ends up getting injured or deciding not to play anymore, it will still cost the same price. There would be no loss of scholarship. Did you ever think that a kid can be smart and athletic? It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Congratulations to the 2018 purple team for making the finals. Team played great all weekend. Gave up 12 goals in 4 games. Coach is outstanding. She made some good lines of girls that played well together. White girls have only made this team better from last year. This team was two years in the making but better late than never. Good luck the rest of the way. It was a great Father's Day watching you play.

Does anyone else have a problem with the size of both 2018 teams roster sizes? After watching both teams at Northern Rise, this seems to not be a problem for every other team we played. Our benches have about 12-14 girls waiting to go in while other teams have 5 or 6. How are the girls supposed to be evaluated by scouts if they don't play enough? Playing time is definitely not equal for either team also. Rosters are not balanced by positions and it's becoming a bigger problem every week. Should be interesting to see how many girls skip going to Virginia because they are tired of playing 5 minutes per half or none at all.

Unfortunately they had (3) teams last year and there are only (2) this year. When you have 15 girls on the sidelines during a game and the coaches just sub en masse you will never be competitive and this is what we are seeing this year even from the Black team which is normally a good team. For the committed girls this is no big deal but for those still looking for a college this does not bode well.

very good point. its true.... starters , and the first off the sideline get the most minutes. in game they get the most vocal coaching as well. you make a long drive , get hotel room etc. and adding it up over 2 days in 4 games wind up on field for maybe 15 minutes. its really sad . no matter how overly optimistic and unrealistic some parents are about getting recruited or "scouted" , its a lousy deal when there are too many kids

The same scenerio happened last year with 2017, thought they'd have enough for 3 teams, then girls say no, they go to 2 giant teams. Girls are better off going to some camps and clinics of schools they are interested in, then the coaches get to see them play.

2018 black played their last game trying to make the playoffs. Only certain girls got to play and they still got handled. At this age group the primary focus is getting girls recruited not making playoffs to win a backpack. SS had to help the black coach who is clearly in over her head with that team. It still didn't help.

In the second half she played more or less her main starters and they outscored the other team but could not make up the difference. To be honest with that many girls on the team there are quite a few who do not belong. They are there because of the combination from 3 teams to 2

This is the problem with a big team especially when the girls are going into 11th grade and want to be seen.

If you are having a showcase there should be no championship format. You play the games and that is it.

As for the purple team. They have 25 girls on the team. Here is the breakdown by position: 2 goalies 4 defenders 8 middies 11 attackers. So you have 4 girls that play every second of every game and girls that get 1 shift per half. If you start a game or a half you might get a second shift on offense. The girls that don't, only get one shift. It has been brought to the attention of the coaches that some of the girls need to switch out to defense but it hasn't happened yet.
