Team 91 Maryland, a bunch of promises of "Elite coaches". So where are they? You want to pay over $2k for your lax, Have at it!! Agreed. If you kid isn't a 2022 or 2024, you are not playing for elite coaches. Rather you are playing for rec coaches that moved over to club. 91 is a for profit organization and priced accordingly. Crabs makes their money off tournaments and camps. What is the definition of an Elite Coach Someone that has coached at minimum of a Varsity level and preferably the collegiate level. What it is not, is someone's dad that played in college. What if that Varsity team was 1-12 three years in a row, I just see the term thrown around and was wondering what people's take on a Elite Coach was How many coaches could actually be considered "Elite", whatever that means. Pedigree means something but is not the sole determinant of a coach's ability. Can he assemble a competitive team, is my kid getting good instruction, do the boys have fun, does every kid play or do many ride the bench in pursuit of wins? Those are the things I care about.

Guess it depends on how you define elite. Sounds like the families that moved over or joined 91 are pretty comfortable with what the club offers. Why do you care about how they are marketing if your son is not a member of the club? Some of those teams were in the top 5 as Breakers and moved almost intact adjusting where needed. No reason to expect that they will not still perform competitively. Please enlighten us with your definition of "elite".

One of the clubs defined elite coaching as having playing experience at the highest levels (D1, MLL, Team USA) and previous head coaching experience at high school or college level. I can go along with that.

Anyone trying out for VEL? What is their deal and what is the benefit for a 2020 to play there? The email and flyer offer almost no information and tryouts are so late.

I asked (only once!) because I was curious - if the question was already on here I didn't see it. Thought that was what this forum was for.

There was nothing wrong with your question. For the record, he is wrong. There were a lot of kids there for my son's grade, but a lot less than 70+ at the tryouts before and after my son's. But hopefully all the kids who tryout for any club find a good home and get better.

What are the details on the Rock - Bitmore merger? What is Bit more? Is that a club? Bitmore is Brendan Mundorf's club. The supplemental tryouts had much better attendance, so Rock & Bitmore may no longer need to merge some of their younger teams.

Merge and your A teams might be good enough to win something.

Bitmore 2021 supposedly pulled a lot of kids in from other clubs and will be a team to watch out for.

For some reason the 21s were very good. Are you serious? How many times did Heros or Bitmore ever beat M&D 2021 or YJ 2021? Think the answer is zero. M&D added 7 new players also. Heros added 8 girls from Bitmore, 3 of which are better than what they already had. We'll see how "unstoppable" they are. Glad you are confident though.

They have both boys and girls programs, although I'm pretty sure everyone was talking about the boys program, and then for some unexplainable reason someone jumped in and started arguing which girls program is better. We get all kinds in here...LOL

Except for the top varsity, it is a terrible league. As terrible as it is, it appears to be the best in the area. How's the Ayla fall 22bleague competition this year in Severna Park? The Coppermine Box League never got off the ground in Baltimore.

I think it's mostly B teams in next level now....kind of like the great falls spring league. Kind of a shame but I think practice in the fall makes more sense for the more serious programs if you're only doing one day a week.

No such thing as a bad league for kids 10 years or 12 years old. NL is providing a league for kids to play and improve their skills on this fall. Nothing wrong with that for kids who want to play in the fall.
