The Dalers nail two within ten seconds themselves to seize a 5-2 lead. Prendergast and Tuttle (2) scored on this rebels. The tension seems to have just increased to a new level here at LaValle. The Lions fans are trying to rally their team.

For what everyone said would be a blowout, Farmingdale did a great job. Congrats Dalers, especially numbers 50 (Ostrander) and 14 (Hendrickson). What a performance.

SWR draws the first blood in the opening minutes of the Class B Long Island Championship.

Farmingdale was exceptional in winning their first Long Island Championship since 2003. As for the Lions, they have lost three games in their last 65 matches, all in overtime. Their forty game win streak was sandwiched by last year's opening season loss and this year's closing championship game match.

Update from the Western District - Class A (Halftime)

Pittsford 4, Ithaca 2

Air temperature of 91 degrees is reported at St. John Fisher and the on-field temperature is between 110 and 115 degrees. Note that the NYSPHSAA handbook reports that the real-feel temperature cannot exceed 96 degrees or the contest would be suspended so a difference in the numbers is coming to us from the field.

Brutal conditions are being reported and second half hydration will be everything in this match. Ithaca scored just before the close of the first half to bring the deficit to two.

All games at White Plains High School were pushed back by one hour on account of the heat here in the area with the hope of having conditions cool slightly. The Farmingdale/Shenendahowa match is slated to face off at 4:30pm.

Ithaca comes back to within one - six minutes remaining and the referees have paused play for a mandatory water break between the teams midway through the third stanza.

Ithaca equalizes right from the faceoff. Pittsford Panthers playing down for a full minute given too verbal a protest of a faceoff violation.

Perettine (scored the overtime winner against the Lions) has two as the Dalers are moving the ball extremely easily against Shenendowa. Farmingdale is looking to reach their first state final since 2003. Air temperature is being reported at 93 degrees.

Farmingdale takes a timeout after Shen scores to bring the tally back to within four goals with eight minutes left in the second. Feels like the transition game for the Dalers is slowing while Shen stil feels the pressure.

Less than two minutes before the half as both teams are trading punches in a test of will power in the brutally hot ocnditions. Water breaks are being factored into the timeouts being called by both teams. Report is that the humidity is also extremely high in the White Plains area making the conditions even more oppressive.

Th Ithaca "Little Red" advance on a goal with fifteen seconds remaining in the second overtime. Ithaca will face the winner of Farmingdale/Shenedehowa on Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse.

Dalers come out with three unanswered to start the second half. Eight minutes remain in the third quarter and the Dalers are not being challenged in the second half early action. Shenendehowa calls the timeout in the hope of getting things straighten out defensively. Catalano and Hendrickson both with hat tricks for the Dalers.

The Dalers snap the Plainsmen's seventeen game unbeaten streak in moving to the final against Ithaca. Game will be played on Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School starting at 11:00am.

Farmingdale put Shenendehowa on their back foot after scoring three in the first five minutes. Will need to bring that same power on Saturday.

Actually, I don't know if you know but the Class C game was moved from 8 to 9 p.m. start.
