Hello- I am a lacrosse parent, and have many friends on all of the teams mentioned. You may wish to consider that ALL of the prior posts are amazingly childish and dysfunctional. Keep it rockin', however. It's a shame that your kids will probably grow up in the same direction as those involved here. as far as being "ELITE" goes, man, paying for a great uniform can't get you that title, ever.
Teach yor children well.....................

Why bring 91 into your amusing foray? You folks do just fine destroying your relations "in-house"! Top Flight, all the way!

A quick review of brackets at the Maverick Shootout shows many teams playing at least 1 year up at this tournament. I think this is an indication that the team talent pool is low. What sense does it make to enter a tournament that is considered to have lower quality teams and then play in an older age group. It seems that the only reason would be to feed the ego's of these coaches, teams and organizations.

Not sure I follow this logic. If the talent pool is poor why not play up and try to win an older bracket much like orange 2016 did at forsberg against some really terrible JV B and C teams and then boast about it.

Nice post, you forgot to sign "OYL"

Why would barracuda parents "respect" (which is a very overused term by barracudas players that talk as much trash as anybody) turtle parents who berate opposing players from the sidelines? By "respecting" that type of behavior it says a lot about the character of the Cubas. Self important and pretentious.

I don't think we'll see 2016 orange play up anymore for the rest of the summer because even though they won by the skin of their teeth at forsberg they realized that beating bad teams only a year older (same age for many orange) was a lot harder than they thought it would be and exposed some size and toughness matchup issues. Too tough of a road for the whole summer to get anymore pictures on the website and an injury risk too. If I'm wrong why aren't they playing up in a weak pool of talent at Maverik tourney?

You people are truly pathetic. These are children that you continue to bash every day. You do nothing but criticize every aspect of these children and their teams. The tournaments they play, the divisions they play in, their ages, what is posted on the team’s website. Why do you care so much? Why are you so obsessed with these boys? These boys are no different than your own. They just play on a different team. Who knows they may be teammates someday. It’s that simple. Stop making something out of nothing. Try being thankful you have been blessed with children who are healthy enough to even play lacrosse.

They were also screaming to take out players "at the knees". What a terrible sportsmanship example and just decency. Do they really destroy the knees of any 12 or 13 year old boy? It was so bad the boys on Express were apologizing to the opposition on the field.

Now, now....some things you are saying are true, and parents should reconsider their actions on sidelines and between games.

Other things you mention are not true...

You know the difference, don't embellish

Yes, I was there

This sounds so crazy - parents at the 2014 level and above hardly say a peep to the refs let alone to players from opposing teams other than "nice game". This must be the year of the apocolypse for everybody to regress to the lowest level of human nature. This used to be a game just for the privileged of society. But at least they respected the game's tradition and the courage of every player to step on the field. Now that its been opened up to every tom, [lacrosse] and harry its come to this. Is this better than it used to be? Hardly. What a shame that this game is being over-run and ruined by houligans who never played.

This says it all. It seems to be much calmer the older the boys get - I think both the boys and the parents mature. Until then, I guess the environment is toxic as everybody wants to see their kid climb over another on their way Memorial Day NCAA Championship Weekend.

Interesting....... So, maybe these folks have "mellowed". Possibly they've lived a bit longer, or had to listen the "blabber-mouth" parents, and are just happy to be fieldside for a day, or weekend. Or, could it be that they've seen those "mega-success" kids from yesteryear fall by the wayside? Maybe they are just raised by more "sound" parenting themselves.
I am sorry to preach (not really), but those crazies may not see it until they've been witness to bigger things in life. To spend all of these occasions yelling at officials, bickering with opponents,or claiming to know better than the coaching staff. If it comes to the point that you are considering moving the family, or are asked to leave the sideline by an official, then a "reality check" may be in order. it will probably hurt too badly when the natural athletes surface, and readily do what you've wasted tens of thousands upon training for (and often a marriage, or any peace with the siblings of the Christ child).
Give peace a chance. Watch them with their helmets off, as well.

So now that Maverik Shootout is over and the wonderful Turtles had the opportunity to play Express 2016 Orange, why didn't they?
It is more than apparent that sharing a championship is worth more to JD than earning one. So now hopefully, all those who feel the need to challenge the 2016 Orange will either step up to the plate and do so or just keep your mouths shut. The players on 2016 were not happy they shared the title. They were on the sidelins for the Turtle/Outlaw game and were looking forward to playing either. Ultimately, these players were deprived another game, but the Turtles saved face. Great job JD you should be proud !!

If you are in fact a Cuba parent, you need to check with your coach aka Director of the Express to get the real answer. The fact you ran to this board to state this makes you a total loser! Sad.

Not true joe d chased the express coach and begged not to play. Your turtles could not lose two weekends in a row it would not be good. The orange team was drooling watching you struggle and was set to beat you once and for all. Do not come to anymore tournaments if you can't take the hear

Both egos were afraid to lose. What a joke and very sad for the kids to work that hard to make it to that point and not be able to see it through. In the best interest of who? The paying customer? Certainly not the kids. Hopefully they get to play eachother again.

2016 orange has beat the turtles twice bad . Go back to your own age bracket if you dont want to play all the games. This was a disgrace and the turtles should be ashamed. If you wanted a game you should have spoke up. Orange players and parents spoke up and they were upset we didn't bring our kids to help your image we do not like you

Seems like the Tri-state tournament in New Jersey has lost a lot of its luster. Tourney's such as 3D fl$ and the U-15 in Florida have stolen alot of Tri-state's thunder and deminished its importance. Yes, I know they don't overlap dates but many teams that can't travel to the east coast more than once are bypassing tri-state and trying some new tournaments. Why does Express hang onto Tri-state like its still such a big deal? Tri-state seems to be a legacy from a bygone era. Time to move on and try something different?

The sad part is the Express Orange 2016 parents were not consulted. The Orange was ready to play and willing to go out on the field and "earn" the championship. If the Turtles didn't want to play they should have forfeited. Outlaws had the Turtles beat until the the Turtles started flopping to gain the man advantage. If you can't play with the big boys stay in your own age bracket and take up soccer where diving and fainting are part of the game.

The tournament official should disqualify both teams and give the championship to the Outlaws and the other Semifinal team. At least both those teams were ready to play if they made it through. Express should be ashamed of themselves if they put up a "championship" picture on the website of this.

MC made one of the classiest moves for his club. The same move that many express teams have made over the years. If the cudas parents are so upset, take the win, its all yours. Make sure to complain to MC real good about some BS tournament game. Then when your kid doesn't make Jake Reed or UA team just remember the day you made such a big deal over a game.. stay focused!

Well said, the boys wanted to play, but they are just boys. over the next few years many of these talented kids will either be teammates or gog head to head against each other. There will be plenty of opportunities for the parents to beat their chests about winning tournaments

Turtle outlaws was a very exiting game.
Bottom line both very good

I think 6-5
all goals except one man up
turtles man up 11 times
outlaws 1 time
better orange does not play them they would win

I think the big deal is the Orange boys wanted to play for the championship out right. Alot of trash talking has been taking place on this site as well as thru parents ( as ridiculous as it sounds ). The boys were disapponted with the reasoning of not having 2 Express teams play for a championship when this Orange team played 2 Express teams in the semis and championship at the Forsberg Tourn. My son who is on the Orange 2016 team voiced this to me. I cant explain the logic behind it to him. Just explained there are bigger things to worry about and enjoy playing whenever and against whoever he does

Great stats. Goes to show the difference in the quality of the player and coaching between teams. Outlaws man up once shows how clean play and finesse wins the day. Players and coaches mouthing off to officials lose games.

That's a crock of you know what - "class" my !##. What is JD creating over there - a bunch of primadonas with such fragile egos (shells) that at the slightest setback will implode? They'll produce a bunch of kids with egos that will be a nightmare to handle for any high school or college coach when JD hands them off. When you sign up to play up, you accept the probability are you are not going to win the championshiup - you do it for other reasons. Losing is ok, especially when playing up with good lessons to be learned. Are these kids so fragile that they can't handle a loss? Rather was the other coach concerned about the probable meltdown, temper tantrum and histrionics of JD in a losing battle that would embarass everybody involved? They need to get over themselves.

Exactly, why was it ok for the Orange to embarass another Express JV C team in the finals at Forsberg but not ok to let the kids play here? I think MC thought it would have been a huge, embarassing blowout handed to the Turtles that JD and the turtles would not be able to handle. There is alot of tension and animosity between the these two sides going back several years - about control, independence, branding, money etc.

An Orange parent told me that MC thought taking the turtles to the woodshed would be just a a bad way to end the tournament - no win for the Orange - they were supposed to win big and if they did, big deal - you beat a younger team. However, if they didn't win big or even loss, that would also not be good. No win situation.

We don't duck anyone unless they call themselve Express Orange. I have no doubt that the turtles would have no problem beating up on the 2018 Express Orange if a championship was on the line. What a joke of a program.

Not knocking the kids, knocking the not well adjsusted egos that are in charge of molding these kids into well adjusted athletes. If you have no horse in this race, get back to work.
