Smaller schools generally offer less competition. Duh. SWR would have a better chance at a title in class C.

what does it matter what bracket Swr is in that goes by school size duh? It must be a coincidence that 4 years in a row they win a title then the first year they are moved up to "B" they lose 7 games and are out before leaving Suffolk County. I am sure its just a coincidence

I think SWR was dominant for a number of years but wasn't able to field as good a team this year. No disrespect to the girls on that team, but I suspect they didn't have the experience the older girls brought to the field. Plus it's also easier in the lower class, generally speaking.

It has nothing to do with B or C. It has to do with the girls on the team. Shoreham lost many good players. When they were a C team the beat just about all the B teams they played(with the exception of GC). They are still a good team(not dominant). We will see what the future brings. Every school especially smaller schools have good classes and bad. Shoreham battled this year with a pretty good team. It's hard to dominate every year whether u are A,B or C!Look at Bayport and Mt Sinai thy beat most of the B teams as well. It is all about the girls who are playing , NOT THE NAME on their jersey!!!

It has nothing to do with you class. A, B or C. SWR is a young team many of the seniors moved on. For some reason Powerfinger is extremely prejudiced against this team. look at the past posts. When you come from a small school district the pool of girls that tryout is of course not as large and what pushed us into the B bracket this yr was a matter of 5 kids. SWR is a bunch of nice HARD working kids who had a rough year with the transition of new coach and many new players. All in All impresive for what they accomplished

You have plenty of girls to pick from. In fact you have more girls playing lax in SWR than many A schools

Class B Championship : Garden City 12, Brighton 6 (Final)
Garden City wins the Class B State Championship. Fact to consider : The current Trojan Seniors have not experienced a loss to end their season since Middle School - that's how many State Championships in a row have been won by the Garden City Girls. A true dynasty at the High School Sports level.

Class C Championship : Mount Sinai 8, CBA-Syracuse 6 (Second Half)
Dillon scores on the roll with eighteen remaining. Also gets the go-ahead goal with thirteen remaining on incredible pass from eighth-grader Mitchel. Parents are quite loud and very as this match has turned extremely physical. (Has been very physical from the outset - field refs have done a great job letting the girls play which keeping a lid on this pressure cooker.) Dillon scores her third straight with just under twelve remaining.
