Was there for the boys which was a great event. Lots of coaches for them. Watched a few of the girls games, not many teams attended and didn't see any coaches for girls. Not sure if it will change in future, but would not recommend it for girls at this point.

A bit pricey when you add up entry fee and hotel and expenses to play in a tournament that was suppose to have college coaches attending ,only to have half a handfull of them and minimal teams playing .
I guess competing against Brine the same dates put a dampner on this. Buyer beware.

Similarly, the US Lacrosse organization should change their US "Championships" rules to restrict the number of teams from one club… or stop giving "automatic bids." Let the teams qualify each year from each region. You might see more teams coming to the regionals to qualify.

So clueless

LI girls lose to Baltimore 12-6 in UA Finals.

Maybe that's why LIers went elsewhere, to avoid the tainted process that we know exists in our region.

Then why did they originally try out for LI ,kind of destroys that point

If UA was truly invested in a fair and honest process the answer is simple. Where do they attend high school. They want the $$. Sad thing is parents are so obnoxious and callous that they don't even think their daughters are taking spots away from girls who live in the New England region and attend school their year round. Typical LI parent who doesn't stop until they get what they want. Don't want to hear the BS it is what the kid wants, we all know they live vicariously thru their children! Shame on them and shame on UA. Again, not a taineted, political, unfair process???

Check the Inside Lacrosse web site for the UA tourn player's that stood out

"A creative and smart attacker, "edit Player" excels especially around the crease. Playing for New England this weekend, she was the team’s go-to offensive quarterback as she dodges to score and feed equally as well. The Georgetown commit possesses a great stick and rarely makes mistakes."

I guess it all paid off..

Not sure what's more pathetic, that you could not leave well enough alone or how bad everyone felt for the kid who was made to play against her friends .No one said the kid is not a good player , but can you honestly say that she should have made the team going by the tryout she had. Give it a rest mom when you keep posting this nonsense you just alienate your kid even more.

Based on the results of the tournament.. team LI could have used a goal scorer

Based on the tryout your daughter should never been placed on any team. Make a few calls and get her placed on a team, make a few more calls and get her a write up. Those connections and calls will not help get playing time at the next level and stop playing with your back to the field when you have the ball.

those 2 LI girls that played for NE, when LI beat the pants off of NE, did absolutely nothing in that game. Didn't even know they were on the team, found out after game. Thats how much they stood out.

Dear UA: Why did you let girls from LI, who unquestionably live on LONG ISLAND, and do NOT attend schools in New England, try out for the New England team?

This is a clear violation of your stated eligibility rule as stated on the Under Armour Lacrosse website as follows: "You MUST live within the geographic region for the team you are trying out for..."

Clearly the girls on the NE team from LI did NOT live in the New England/Geographic region... and they did not make their own region's team.

If there is a different rule or interpretation of this rule which allowed these LI girls to tryout out for the New England team after not making the Long Island team, then please enlighten the lacrosse community because it is a question that deserves an answer.

This is setting a very bad precedent and takes away from the spirit of the tournament.

Did you send this letter or are you just complaining anonymously here? Because we can't do anytlhing about it and it doesn't seem everyone is all up in arms about this the way you are. I hope you sent it if you feel that strongly about it.

Just curious, was your daughter on the LI team ? Did she try out ? or do you live in new England and these 2 girls took spots from someone you know ? just trying to figure out your motivation for bashing 16 yr old student athletes who probably very much wanted to play in the event.

My guess is they are annoyed that their child went thru the tryout process and made the LI team and feel that its a very big honor to have been one of the 24 selected from LI,lots of talented kids got cut. Now you have 26 kids diminishing the accomplishment somewhat. You also have many kids that were cut who did not feel they had the option of trying out for another region as the rules do clearly state you cannot. The mother of one of those NE players could not tell enough people how her kid did not make the team because of politics again diminishing the accomplishment of those that did. Bending the rules to get an unfair advantage over other LI kids makes the process seem like a joke ,again diminishing other kids accomplishment. When you state maybe they just really wanted to play you act as if all the other kids who showed up and got cut did not want to play as bad as your kid when in reality they just were not as desperate and unethical.

I think it directed more towards the Parents who think they are above the rules and can do what ever they want not about bashing a 16 year old. But then again its a nice lesson to teach your kid if you can not make it with in the rules go somewhere else. It does not matter that you are taking an opportunity from someone else. "**These are recommended locations. The athlete has the choice to tryout for any region, which is most convenient for their schedule. For instance - If you go to school in a different State then your hometown, you may tryout in either location. However, whatever region you tryout for, is the Region you will represent if you make the team, and are required to attend all practices and games associated with the event."

I know for a fact at least one of the players tried for the Long Island Team and did not make it. Maybe UA has to rewrite tryout rules.

Are you telling me LI was most convenient for them and after they got cut NE then became most convenient. Trying to justify what they did is just silly, they got cut and their parents egos could not accept that maybe some kids just had a better tryout. Not the first time this kids parents have done this type thing, the funny thing is they complain about politics and go on to make calls to friends within UA. UA will ban this practice in the future because they realize its just wrong.

Both players tried for LI and were cut - just like the other 120 or so other girls who tried out for THEIR region. UA and their underhanded politics is a complete joke. However, this also falls on the parents as well. What are we teaching these young ladies? You got cut - but wait there is a loophole and I'll make some calls and you can tryout again for New England so you can say you made UA. I can;t wait to see the bumper sticker on the back of their car.

Were any LI girls turned away from attending the NE tryout? Or did just 2 girls pursue their desire to play even if it meant trying again after being cut from one team? Sounds like two determined girls. If they enjoyed themselves then the extra steps taken to make a team was a great decision. Hopefully, they earned a spot by having a solid tryout.

I don't think the intent of that ** was to give players a second bite at the apple. It appears it was meant for players that go to school out of the region where their family resides, to make a choice based upon convenience and exam schedules, etc. UA should going forward clarify this rule to eliminate any ambiguity so that parents and players alike know their options next year. IF they don't you can expect a flood of girls that are not selected to the LI team going to other tryouts.

Here's a question speaking of politics how many of those so called "top players" from the class of 2014 saw play time on the field in college this year or transferred bc they didn't see play time. Parents get over yourselves your superstars are not so super some of you and pulling strings now hurts them bc they cant deal with rejection. I know an entire group of 2014 grads who were top YJ and high School players as well as TG and saw less then 5 minutes of May in the real world and cant handke IT!!!

All the kids that went on to play in college from my town all played major minutes.

I know that a few from Farmingdale did not get any...and i think IT was harder for the parents then the children to accept. As far as your town getting major minutes what town?? Bc on top of Farmigdale, Mt Sinai, ESM, NP, GC all those who went to D1 saw basically nothing so parents be careful what you wish for make sure they like the school not just bc you like it for the name or lax!!! Many transfers this year from big D1 to lesser D1 or even not playing!! Statistically those who pick their schools instead of the schools picking them are happier!!!

Look at all the girls who transfer back to LIU, Adelphi and Molloy just to play after having a tough time away year 1 or 2 at big lax schools

All 6 of our 2014 seniors saw plenty of playing time plus another from the town over. 2 started on a top 5 Div 1 team as freshman. Oh by the way you forgot to mention WI who made it to the STATE FINAL in 2014 and I'm pretty sure they Finished the Fight in 2015 and earned the STATE TITLE. Another little tidbit to chew on they all played for the Purple. & Black which I believe to be Top Guns. Who ever started this comment has won the Darwin Award. I'm second for responding to such nonsense. I'm sure you would be able to handle such a big adjustment at least these girls gave it a shot much more than I can say for your sorry being. Hey Hop put an end to this nonsense this tough guy wants to berate kids that moved on with their lives and he has no reason why kids chose to leave school.

In fairness, anyone who says they haven't put a school on their radar after a coach reached out or targeted them is lying. There are some really obscure colleges on these committed lists and part of the reason is a coach reached out with an offer. Maybe not for blue chippers but definitely for kids in the middle of the club lacrosse pack.

I guess you can continue to let this person call out the class of 2014 without having anything solid to back it up? I guess this parent didn't have a superstar in 2014 and now wants to bash all the 2014 superstars I guess he follows all these student athletes and knows all the factors for the few who transferred? That person must have a lot of time on his hands. Start by worrying about your child and their welfare and we will worry about the welfare of our children. This is not the place to knock a child's decision because you do not like the parents or the child. Go beat your wife and kick your dog & you mention Farmingdale usually a blue collar hard working crowd with a lot of pride. You must be a transplant.

It is very disturbing that all of you cowards come on here an takes anonymous shots at a woman. If a kid was posting things like this about your daughter I am sure you would be up at the district filing bullying charges. I do not know the woman that you are referring to but remember you have a daughter too. If you are not happy with how she handles her twitter have the stones to approach her privately about it or do what most people with class do and just ignore her. If you can't you have bigger issues to discuss with a professional.

Sorry but I have no idea who is being referenced here. Therefore not sure why it should be a problem for anyone. Seems pretty vague to me.

Singling out a mom from MC . Reference to her kids... I am sure there can't be more than one family on that team that has more than one kid on it.

First off what's MC. Second YOU are bringing attention to this. Third if someone who is registered would like to complain or give a reason why this should be paid attention to at all by a moderator then PM me. Otherwise who cares really. If it's a knock on a parent then get in line. There's lots of em and maybe some are justified and maybe not.
Just because you don't agree with the posters opinion doesn't mean he/she shouldn't have one. Right?

MC is Middle Country who ended the season like the 2007 New England Patriots 18-1. By the way the team had a couple of pairs of siblings on it.

Totally agree, if you are going to put anything on social media for all to read good or bad one leaves themselves open to public opinion. I would also read a bit more carefully they poster does say that both children are very talented, but doesn't care for the way the parent continues to self promote her children. Again that is that posters opinion who I happen to agree with, this particular parent really goes overboard with the having local media on speed dial, re-posting, re-tweeting, re-everything about her children. My opinion just like you have yours.

Most parents of top tier travel players are taught by the parents ahead of them that they must be waving their children's pom poms from a very young age in order to keep up. Starts with tracking down the AD's in 7th and 8th grade then goes to social media tweets retweets and posts and then taking leadership of the self serving booster clubs. All of this is nothing new
