Coach already told parents to have a "plan B" in place so there will be changes

New to this process. My son wants to try out for 2 teams. I think based on his PAL work that he has a good chance to make the two teams. One tryout is mid August, one is a week later. If he makes the first do they ask for immediate deposit to guarantee a spot? Does that really happen?

Some will ask for cash right away...Express did that last year. Buyer beware with those teams.

If you son is truly very good, they will wait a little, but not too long.

Plus the timing of one week between them seems to work for you if you need to do a little stall play.

if the teams you are looking at have 2 day tryouts they won't offer spots/make you commit until both tryout days are complete

Legacy having a Nassau team would be great. A lot of Nassau kids itching to play more lacrosse with not many options unless you want to travel 40 minutes for practices twice a week!

Smack in the face, teams are trying to make the most money and get the best players. That's it. That's what they are loyal to. It may seem like a smack in the face, but that's travel lacrosse on long island. At least top teams that is. I'm not saying that's right, but that's the way it is. Remember that ,the first priority is money, the second priority is winning. Your feelings or feeling disrespected is probably priority number 14.

It's all business my man get used to it you have a long road a head of you if your 2024 is your first one to go through travel. Lax is just like any other travel sport, there to compete. PERIOD.

How about coaches who leave their organizations and poach the kids. Isn't that just as bad?

It is a great tournament. And it has always been about towns getting together, closing out their season and supporting a great back to school charity.

sharks who? from ESM? or the long island sound sharks from wading river Rocky point area. ESM has a lax program sound sharks don't. great football program though.

The number of new programs popping up for 2024 is insane. I count new teams for this this age group. I mean the pool of players/parents isn't deep enough. New additions for this year include, Bengals, Blue Fish, True Blue, 365 for far. At 20 players per team that is a lot of new boys needed. On top of the at least 10 established teams.

oh ok. we play ESM tomorrow but in the 2021 division.
