so early registration dates - you make a team and then have a day or two for a yes or no answer - conveniently before the other teams even have their tryouts. Unreal! So you make a team, say no because you would like to be on a different team, then dont make that team, you are screwed. Earlier the better for those clubs.

What would the difference of having them in August be? They are all moving up. If they had all stayed the same you end up with the same scenario in September. They all pressure you to sign up early or "lose your spot". If your kid fits the team and you like the organization, just do it. why do you have to look for a better deal?

I agree with the other post if you are happy where you are why waste money on other tryouts, stay put save the money. No need to try out for 2 or 3 teams, unless your kid is on the fence.

Better in sept. Kids can get a 2 month break. Now sesoan ends july, 2 weeks later tryouts. Common. People have end of summer trips and weekends planned because lets face it, june and july weekends are devoted to lax tournaments. Now the last 3 weeks of summer, tryouts. My son is 10 and loves it. How long can he maintain this pace. Non stop lacrosse.

Clubs should all have a gentlemens' and gentlewomens' agreement that August is off limits for lacrosse and tryouts will be after September 1. Boys/girls/families need a break.

No easy solution I guess. My kid was on one of the 2024 teams this weekend at Maverick. What I would really, really like to see happen is that these guys put together a Long Island league of sorts. There is ZERO FREAKING REASON why these teams dont all play each other more. There was pretty good competition this weekend, and was nice to be local. Winning team had 5 games in one day, losing team had 4, and it was a close game , as most were. All others had 3. Why go to MD and VT and MASS when we can do it all locally, and invite some others here as well. Just my .02 as a first time travel parent. Tiring. But better wake up, tryouts are coming up, and IF you are on the fence on a team, you have to try out on multiples - dont have a choice....

We get it loser, we know they are great teams. What makes you a loser, is talking about it every minute. 100s of 9 yr old kids had fun, we don't need some loser lowlife, living through his son, to knock every lacrosse statement made. We know, pack and taz, we know. Now get a life.

I think kids like to play teams from other states. Pack and Taz go to just about any tournament and they meet in the finals but they get to play new teams during the bracket rounds.

Wouldn't the future be bright. They ended on a 1 goal loss to what is probably the best 2024. No dog but if the goal is to get better as a team. They seemed to have accomplished that. Same can be said for igloo, ending with a championship.

That would be the logical thing to do but that would not be as lucrative$$$$$$. The teams look better beating up on other teams out of state(except MD teams) so they can put it on there web page and you can pay to tryout for there team. Plus you are paying for the coaches rooms too. For some reason the teams in MD do it a lot better for A LOT LESS!

If a kid played for a team this year and the coach feels he is likely an on the fence player and the organization isn't going to have a B team is it even worth trying out or should you concentrate on moving on to another team?

If a kid played for a team this year and the coach feels he is likely an on the fence player and the organization isn't going to have a B team is it even worth trying out or should you concentrate on moving on to another team? Is he a good kid that the coaches would want around? Are you a pain in the? Do you like the organization? Is your kid going to bust his behind during tryouts and work hard now to get better? Lots of variables. And at this age kids can get better very quickly if they do the work. But being on someone's A team is really better, but why not let your kid take a shot, you really don't have much to lose and could use it as a teachable moment.

I think their are a lot of factors to consider... does the coach still play your kid, even though he may have weaker skills than other teammates, will your son be devastated to learn he got cut, as opposed to just leaving to look for a better fit, does the coach seem like a good fit and willing to work to develop your son's skills, is your son happy?

Not one strong team. They are 9 yr old kids. Don't you see how stupid you sound. Why does it bother you, when other people are happy. Arent other people not on those 2 teams allowed to be happy. Don't be that loser that tries to one up everybody. Don't be that guy. Nobody likes a guy like that. We know who the 2 best teams are. We don't need to hear every time 9 yr old lacrosse is talked about.

Probably just someone trying to stir the pot. What too many forget is that these programs are supposed to be about developing our kids, them having fun and making friends along the way. It's too bad a few loudmouth parents do their best to try and ruin for the rest.

This one Taz daddy has gone on and on since last fall, putting down ALL kids that don't play for pack or taz and after all the talk and nasty comments will probably find that his kid doesn't have a spot once they clean house to better match up with wolfpack next season. Will he shut up then??...wishful thinking.
