Only way to beat them is the play super physical and tight D on their 3 main offensive weapons. If you give them space they will torch you. You can score on them.

Overlooked teams based on your LI centric analysis--PA Roughriders, Carolina Cannons, Indiana/Illinois--All very competitive teams right behind Express and Looney's. Crush and all their arrogance are above everyone. Beyoned their top 5 NONE of those kids would star on any of the other teams they'd just blend in. Keep dreaming parents 91 parents if you think otherwise...delusional. Thank the heavens you got on the team early and enjoy your training and orange gear...

I love how all the LI parents think this Crush team is the best of all time. There are several good prospects on this team, but don't kid yourself that this team will never lose a game.

Other teams will catch up to them shortly. Happens all the time.

LI parent here, please don't bunch us all up. Couldn't care less about the crush. Yes they are a good team. My kid doesn't play for them - so I care as much about them as any other team on LI or Maryland, NJ, CT or anywhere else. Lets move on to something more constructive rather than just the 16 players on one team. Being this is a 2020 thread - I'm sure there is more to discuss than one or two teams. Lets try and stay positive as well!

Take the top 5/6 off any team what would happen for you to say after top kids the rest would blend would make them? Being that we all declare our teams as A teams they would be A players Crush top 7 is the seperation not the next 7. Either way no team is equal top to bottom regardless of level. My boy doesn't play for Crush and I question some things w that team but as much as none of us want it there is an enormous gap between them and the next team after them the teams are very evenly matched. A great discussion is ranking the other LI teams

Wait until the Crush tryouts when other great new players start showing up and the current bottom 2/3 of the roster gets the ole' "heave [lacrosse]!" That'll be delicious.

Anyone would be silly to join that team now. Heading into 8th grade summer they will only play marquee recruiting events and only the starters will play.

Now is the perfect time for the crush bench players to pick their new team. Every other club would welcome them

Especially teams from MD, PA and Mass. They will assemble a batch of reclass and double reclass 2019's and 2018's and drop them into 2020. Then they'll be all full of themselves that their dopey kids who repeated 8th or 9th grade 2 or 3 times finally beat those age legit Crush kids...

Which top players would leave their team to sit the bench on Crush? And why would that be "delicious" you are a sick person. Everyone out there is trying to do the best for their kids. it just so happens that Crush has the top recruits in the age group plus a couple connected kids starting. No other kid is cracking the starting line up, sorry to tell you. If a kid from another team is even good enough to make the team, he should run for the hills as fast as he can moving into important recruiting years. As for the kids who get less playing time, some may belong to great HS programs and the skills they have will allow them to shine there and at recruiting showcases. You should really mind your business and stop obsessing over Crush. Your green eyes are unsportsmanlike.

Legacy is clear # 3. fl$ is in the mix for 4 along with Express 2, Igloo, Vipers, and True Blue. Empire does not belong in top 10 at the moment. As a new team, they move improve dramatically in their second year together but for right now, they would be under all of these teams and grouped with teams like Outlaws Black, All Greys, Legacy Taz.

Why would any kid decide to ride the bench at Denver for 4 years? Maybe he'll get a shot along the way. That's why this program will attract all the best players out there. You should be worried if you don't believe this reality of high level club lacrosse - the behind the scenes maneuvering has already started and you will not realize it until your kid doesn't make it but his outcome had already been baked long before the tryout. The bottom half of the roster is toast. Next year's crush will be even better but there will be a lot of new faces and plenty of current kids will be told not to come back.

My order crush, express, legacy Taz, fl$, vipers, igloo, true blue, outlaws. I do believe crush will be beat next year kids are starting to hit it now. As for express I do believe they can be beat right now if you have a good fogo. There best years are behind them. Legacy Taz is definitely at least 3rd being that they have beaten all the rest of the teams than there is the rest. A few kids on those other teams should look to jump on the other top teams this year before the recruiting tournaments begin to get your kids in the best spot!!! Just an opinion

Will be tough but good life lessons for both the kids and the parents. The handwringing and worrying by the parents has started already. Most you already kind of have a feeling that you are probably on the way out based on playing time in the final game in Denver. The reaction of the parents who are asked to leave Crush will be delicious. My advice would be to find a program with 1 team per grade. Don't fall for the B team - its a message that your son is only valued for your family checkbook.

The way you carry on about Crush must mean your kid was cut or didn't make it at some point. Do you not know that the same thing goes on at Legacy and Express? I know some very unhappy people on both those teams that have traveled to away tournaments and kids barely saw the field. Why single out Crush? What so you think happens in college? Most kids ride the bench, that's what. They were good enough to be recruited at some point, but some peak, lose interest, ect. Playing time is earned, nothing is guaranteed. If your not happy with what's going on, work harder or try a different team or sport. These are personal decisions. Hating on these kids is a terrible thing to do by an adult, you should be ashamed of yourself! The kids you are bashing are wonderful boys, you would know that if you got passed your jealousy. I think it's the coach you don't like, don't assume the boys are the same.

Relax, take a breath. The post never criticized or said anything negative about the character or ability of the boys - that perceived criticism must be permanently etching in your brain, not what was written. There will be turnover - and probably a lot of it. That's the baseline state of the elite club swamp. Unless you are one of the top 5, brace yourself for disappointment, its going to be a shock otherwise.

Actually you did criticize. What was it you said, will be "delicious"? That is downright creepy. Unfortunately for your sick line of thought, There will be little to no movement on the Crush team because for the most part, the kids are all happy to be there, despite the lack of playing time, and any other top player who is used to starting on their team will not on Crush, so it would be pointless to make that move. Some kids will leave Crush, better tell your son to watch out! My own son is solid, just can't believe the perception and speculation by outsiders looking in thinking they know a clue! I'll wave at you after the championship game this weekend when you walk away the loser that you are!

it's just human nature to want to see an arrogant and cocky sob like Spalina fail. Like the turtles before them, people on the outside just want to see it unravel, or at least hit some bumps in the road. If your not on the inside, you want to see it implode so you don't feel like your missing anything. Nothing goes smoothly indefinitely in the elite club world so there will be jilted parents that come on here eventually and make a stink. When that happens, that's what will be delicious for the rest of us. And it will happen.

You people on both sides of this, especially the crush side, are so tightly wrapped about this - coiled and ready to strike at the slightest thing. You act like there's no other way for your kids to get to college except lax and you'll defend it to the apocalypse. How about they open a book instead of pick up a stick? Would it be so horrific if they didn't play lax in college or is that the only route?

This whole thread is just sad. Having had an older son cut from a team at one point, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. It's horrible for the kid to go through. Shame on anyone that has expressed that thought. Karma is a [lacrosse].

Hey Outlaws coach/parent/supporter, your team does not belong in the list of the top 8 in this age. That is based on results so not opinion, simple fact. Attempting to recruit new players off the more successful teams through this message board reeks of desperation. That team was better 2 years ago than it is now. Any parent whose son is thinking of switching teams should ask themselves why that is and find an answer before taking any action. Just an opinion.

I have been around this youth sport for many years now, having a son who is a college senior midfielder at a mid major D1 school and a son who is currently a 2020 on a decent, solid team. While I do not necessarily believe Crush will remain unbeatable forever, I believe in the age group they will certainly be extremely difficult to beat even in years to come. What I do think will begin to happen is that you will see an end to the days of the 20 goal blow outs, and the total dominance will come to an end when they play the better teams on the island or away. I would say the closest team to them at this point would be the Long Island Express 2020 Terps. Again this is just an opinion based on having had the opportunity to see both teams play against my son.

What team is Edge?
Tomahawks tied Terps and beat Laxachusetts by 1 who beat Terps by 1. Laxachusetts also split games with Legacy the week before. Point is, Terps, Legacy, Tomahawks and Laxachusetts are all really good and in any given game, have shown the ability to beat (and lose) to each other.

If you read Edges website for their 2020 team- they list them as the top kids from 2001 and 2002. They readily speak of reclassifying and needing to do so by 8/9th grade. I wouldn't doubt that most of their players are a full year older than many teams at the 2020 age.

If you read Edges website for their 2020 team- they list them as the top kids from 2001 and 2002. They readily speak of reclassifying and needing to do so by 8/9th grade. I wouldn't doubt that most of their players are a full year older than many teams at the 2020 age.

2001/2002 is 2020.

Edge 2020 is a wierd team. They can beat really good teams and lose games they shouldn't lose. Would actually like to see them play Crush. Their style/size could pose matchup problems for them.

WOW - so it's such a common occurrence that Canada actively tells their teams to reclassify to compete. I'm surprised they call 2020 U13. A 2020 kid up here is 12 and 13 and is classified as U15 (7th and 8th grade this past spring) up here in MA.
