Didn't the Honey Badgers just win the 2022 division at Tristar? If they are beating 5th grade teams by a bunch of goals, what makes you think E3 can come close to them?

Honey Badgers won the 5th Grade "B" Division. They can not play with any of the 5th Grade "A" teams.

E3 is not even close to being an A team or a B team

They can absolutely play with the "A" teams. They played in the "A" bracket and had 2 close games against Outlaws Black and fl$ with 5 of their starters missing. They would crush Black and fl$ with full strength.

So you laugh when SST says they lost to e3 because they were missing players. Now in above post you state e3 only lost to Black and fl$ because you were missing 5 starters. You are 1 of those people.

Nor can you beat the Bandits or any other legitimate A team.

Hold on. Are the honey cups suggesting that they can play up a year with the A teams? That's just silly, set up a game with either 91 team, igloo, 32, express etc. Here is the thing, playing up against B teams is easier than playing in your own age group against the best teams and is easier than playing against one age older town teams. The honey loves would get crushed by 10 different rising 6th grade town teams including GC, Port, CSH, Northport, farmingdale etc. As a matter of fact it would be irresponsible to even play up against better teams town or travel as the honey suckers might actually get hurt if they allow real hitting.

That's the point. Badgers get destroyed by middle of the pack 5th grade teams. Bandits beat them. Badgers quickly going down hill. That ride will be over soon.

Ok we all get it - you dont like the outlaws for one reason or another - maybe you lost to them and are bitter because you thought your sons team was an "A" team, or he didnt make the team - whatever the reason you need to accept it yourself.....

We actually crushed your Outlaw B team that you proclaim as an A.
Sounds like you can't admit to being a B.

ok give it a rest. if someone wants to call themselves a, b, whatever, the proof will be in the pudding. games will determine that. why let it get you riled up?

bash at the beach (but not near the beach). looks like a fairly evenly matched set of grade. and good weather all weekend. who are the titans and dip n dunk? haven't heard of them.

Ok mr badger...what A team have you beat? The only A team in 2023 is the bandits...and they've slaughtered the badgers repeatedly. Badgers are a B team with good marketing.

So if the Badgers are a B team, what does that make the other 2023 teams? I don't think anyone can dispute that the Bandits are the best team in the age group, but no other team has beat the Badgers, so I think it's safe to say they should not be grouped with the others either. I don't get the jealousy and the name calling. You realize that when you make fun of the team name and disparage the ability of the team you're putting down a bunch of 10 year old kids? Unbelievable and, quite frankly, pathetic.

"WE"? When referring to the team your SON plays on, it's "they". Unless the time you spend, at night alone, putting on your son's helmet while looking longingly in the mirror yelling to noone "Here's your help!" has you convinced otherwise.......

My son currently plays on a "B" level team. Would love for him to play on one of the netter teams (i.e. Bandits, Badgers, Igloo), but, skill level aside, is it unrealistic to think he might have a shot at making one of those teams? In other words, are these teams basically set and only looking to take on kids that are significantly better than the kids already on the team?

Listen I'm going to be honest with you......the teams you just mentioned, if you say your son is a fairly new player and a B level player right now, then playing for any of those teams would only frustrate you watching him get little or no playing time or worst off frustrate him and drive him away from the game. I will say one thing though, I know 91(which is the bandits) has And C level teams as well as the outlaws. I'd inquire on their websites about their B teams. be honest with them let them know the boy is a player right now. they won't turn him or your $2,500 away. they'll assign him to the appropriate team where he'll get plenty of playing time. do not let the bandits coach get a hold of him. He's the ny lizards coach....And the same guy that coaches that older 91 crush team that played in the national championship game in Denver and up 19-6 there were kids who never got on the field. He won't tuner your $2,500 away either and your kid will go to a place like Denver and you'll go to and he'll never play. neither of u would like that. so for now get your kid on a good B team with some good coaches and let him develop. And when you're confident he's ready for A bracket lacrosse then you can have him try out for those teams. don't let the names of these organizations and the t shirts bumper stickers and war stories sell u. at the end of the day your kid learning the game and his playing time is ultimately paramount. hope I was helpful. have a great weekend.

If he has the skills, he will make the better teams, but it has to be a clear standout performance at the tryout. No doubt that he has to be better or they go with what they know.

To add, while this should be about him, it's also about you and your other kids. Being on these top teams, there is a lot of sacrifice and hard work. They practice a few times a week, year round, for hours at a time. Practices may be close to you or over an hour away, but your son will be expected to be there for the practices, even if he plays other sports as well, as many of the kids do. If he is still young, a 2nd level team might be a better fit, unless he know lax will be his priority, over other sports, birthday parties, hanging out with friends after school- etc. As kids get older, making that decision is easier, as they are more mature and focused and their teammates become close friends and they learn and can later appreciate that the hard work and sacrifice means success.

Click on Igloo logo above, contact them to ask questions. Asking here is probably not a good plan. As far as the coaches being good or not.. they have an excellent program.

Good team and good coaches. Playing time is not equal and that is made clear to everyone from the beginning. They do their best to get the subs in during blowout but most of the tournaments have tie breaks based on goal differential so no stepping off the gas generally.

Agreed. The teams above generally know already who they are going to add. The coaches and directors will all have had significant inbound interest and likely made outbound interest. If you aren't in either of those groups your son would have to blow people away in tryouts and even then it will be tough. The top teams will have 100+ kids trying out for very few spots. If you are on a B team for one of the organizations above your coach would need to have the opinion that he is best on the team.
