Let me take a guess with this one. Your kid was one of the players who did not see the field? I thought so. Instead of spending your free time bitching and moaning on the site you should be at the field with your kid. Showing her that hard work will get her more playing time not complaining. If you are not happy leave the program. Honestly the constant complaining from parents every weekend is getting old. Maybe I will pay the coach for training to get her on the field like you do.

You really should refrain from singling out a 12/13 year old like that on the internet. You can banter w the parents and have a little fun stirring the pot back and forth, but the kids need to be left out of it.
I wrote the post and you are absolutely right. Will be more careful. Since it did single her out - she is a very good player.

YJ blue is on the downward spiral already with many unhappy parents and players. Legacy doing more with less and almost beating us. TG should have beat us, we got lucky. We lost credibility this weekend and many of us feel the tourney was bittersweet. It's sad but true! Obviously not a YJ parent, the best team won the tournament , congratulate them and move on like many of your TG families are doing. If doing more with less is losing to Elevate than congrats to them , near the top of the B teams.

The only loss of composure was from the four yellowjacket girls who committed the four fouls..TG player was out at halftime and back in for the second half. Don't you know there's no crying in Lacrosse! Especially from that girl!

The good news for the YJ parents is next year the kids that do not play much in the big games will see more playing time , the addition of the next "new" kid will make it very difficult for any team in the age group to compete with them. The bad news is there is only 1 ball .the good news for TG next year is all the players will actually get equal playing time and it will be a true team effort unfortunately they instantly become a B level team and non competitive with the top teams . Next year they are down to only 1 competitive age 2018.

They have gone to this modified line up several times resulting in a loss and several wins by a goal, "agreed pretty good results" however how would AC even know if results would be any different if she played it straight the results would probably be the same and if they weren't only CR would care. College coaches don't give a crap who won some youth tournament. It's actually a bad business decision if all would play top team would put even more kids into "big time" lax schools. CR would still get her "championships" and get to showcase all of her talent. "Top" kids are going to get theirs regardless. It's all about the money AC much like CR doesn't care how it is earned. Hope you sleep we AC

A good coach gets the most out of all of her players. Look at AC record as a Varsity coach. Doesn't sub in HS and has a weak team. Anybody could take the best 12 from blue and win games. Try playing the team that you picked. car will cash the checks that the parents wrote this year but good luck getting kids to return for another year of stand and watch.

Amen to that. You are 100% correct with your statement. All parents were told how this team operates. We are here to win tournaments. plain and simple. AC realizes if certain kids are on the field it is a turnover or sloppy play. Again, PLAY TO WIN.

If 25 were deemed qualified then they should play or they should be on the B team. And I agree with an above poster YJ attract the absolute best talent in the biggest numbers. Every parent on that sideline could coach the top 12 to a ton of victories, just dump out the ball bag and let them play. Many YJ coaches are way overmatched and many are way too young to deal with all the politics. Very few coaches coach up a team, most times its the players making the coach look good with their natural talent they brought to the team

People stay with the YJ so they can proudly say my daughter is on the top team. Nobody ever follows up by saying how much does she play per game. The big rosters bring in big revenue. To the people on the top team their status is more important then their daughters playing time.

The reason YJ goes out and wins is because that makes the better players want to play for them, just ask TG which has essentially become the minor leagues for YJ. Getting the better players gives YJ more exposure which in turn makes more kids want to be a part of it which brings in more money. As a result you get YJ parents who come on here to complain about playing time but will never leave because they want to be a part of the best teams and you get TG who come on being delusional about their program and how happy they are even when the best players are leaving in bunches. YJ has been the biggest and best which also brings the most competitive and cut throat , TG is heading the way of liberty which is not a bad thing just different.

We will see who leaves from both teams... I'm sure there were plenty of 12 year olds crying in the car ride home from NJ after they didn't play a minute in 3 games on Saturday. Time will tell but many parents will need to look in the mirror and see the face that is staring back at them if they leave their daughter in the 2020 blue mix.

So what is better? Being on the Blue team and not playing in meaningful games or being on the Gold team or third YJ team or Top Guns or whoever and playing? Is it possible to be a very good Blue player - worthy of playing D1 - but yet not get on the field for Blue? Or are the bench Blue players just not that good and are there for another reason (politics, FAF, etc.) Curious. Serious replies, please!

This is why you TG people are delusional, you need to make yourselves feel better by making things up. The semi final game kids who did not play in the final game were on the field more than many who did not come out of the final. Funny not to long ago your TG team had kids that did not play in games and kids who never came out yet you stayed with the program.

Most would say it's better to be on th eblue team and not play in meaningful games. This is because you are playing for the best coaches that the club has. Girls learn a lot more in practice than they do in the games. What you don't understand is once they hit 9th grade and they are playing in recruiting tournaments it all changes. All girls are required to play 50% of every game. So the goal is to stay on the top team until high school because once you are there, you are going to be see by coaches. All this back and forth about middle school lacrosse is stupid. Unless your girl is miserable because she doesn't play in the close games then I guess you have to make a decision. But as we all know, with teams like YJ, M&D, etc 80% of their games are not all that close and at the end of the day, the girls usually end up playing the same amount.

All this back and forth between YJ & TG is so STUPID. Both teams are good in their own way. Both teams offer different things, depends what you're looking for. Hopefully your daughter is the the place you feel is the best for her to grow as a lax player and young lady. Hopefully is is learning and laughing! If not, then it's time to to make some decisions at the end of the season. TG is not for everyone and neither is YJ. Kids will come and go, super talented ones down to the okay ones. In the end make sure your daughter is in the place that is best for HER.

For all you how shall we say, tightly wound parents of 7th graders. Don't lose sight of the academics and the career dreams of your kids. Many on here speak like what color team you are on is the end all be all. Years from now many will look back and say what was I thinking! If you are truly honest with yourselves, you will see that a lot of this is more about the parents then the kids. Chillax all this really doesn't mean much. Come back after your first couple of daughters are done with lacrosse and I bet you say the same thing.

I have seen teams at IWCLA showcases barely play some girls because they still want to win games against rivals. Same debate can be used for - "should my daughter play Varsity and not step on the field or JV and play the entire season?" I have seen coaches who barely even use their non-starters in practice. Each kid should feel like they are contributing. And what happens as they get older, F&F get more interest because they are "taken care of."

All the posts about the poor YJ kids that don't get to play in the final games of tournaments with playoff games. If there are 6 games in a weekend they get equal time, if not more, in 7 of those 8 games. THIS is what you [lacrosse] and moan about? You would complain no matter what YJ did.

You can draw attention to the fact that I type quickly and hit the 6 instead of the 8 but I assure you I know how to count and the point remains. If you need me to better clarify... If there are 8 games in a weekend, they get equal or more time in 7 of the 8. They just get less or no time in the 1 playoff game. For this people argue relentlessly. Notice the point was not argued, just the typo.

Especially in this case where the team is on the rise. Where are all these supposed replacements coming from? You may see one of the top girls from TGs or another club, or even a girl get moved up from within. Most of the top girls available are already there.

It exposes your anger an ignorance at the same time. You're reaching for anything to distract form the truth of the original post. Time to move on to another team and thread. Your a little washed up on this one.

It's true my kid hardly played in last 3 games. Was going to call coach like a parent did from MD. It worked. She doesn't come off field And yet you still will not leave. Lemmings... the whole lot of you. Some exam you are setting. You are now afraid to voice an opinion because you where all told the truth of how it was going to be. All from a spoiled little girl who has you all afraid of her. Wow... it really is surreal

H So what is better? Being on the Blue team and not playing in meaningful games or being on the Gold team or third YJ team or Top Guns or whoever and playing? Is it possible to be a very good Blue player - worthy of playing D1 - but yet not get on the field for Blue? Or are the bench Blue players just not that good and are there for another reason (politics, FAF, etc.) Curious. Serious replies, please! Wrong, but keep telling yourself that. The girls that don't play usualy get replaced the next year! Do you think YJ wants 1/2 a bench they don't fee confident enough about to put in a final game? Once someone better shows up those girls will be replaced. How exactly are these girls getting replaced? Very rarely do you ever see more than 2 or 3 girls change year to year. Especially in this case where the team is on the rise. Where are all these supposed replacements coming from? You may see one of the top girls from TGs or another club, or even a girl get moved up from within. Most of the top girls available are already there. posts smell like a bunch of jealous and angry tg and legacy parents. must suck that your superstar isn't that good as you think she is. be careful what you wish for. if some of these curcio kids leave for your team, little susie may lose her spot. bitter irony to come.

Honestly feel bad for the TG faithful , nice people but the club is no longer heading in the same direction . Shannon seems to be a good person who is a good coach but after the next defection , a kid they have tried so hard to keep , it will leave her club w no top teams in any age group. She deserves better , plus it's a lot more fun beating them with their best player than with us having the best player.
